Loved Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, Toy Story etc but my favorite thing Tim ever did was Galaxy Quest. It's pure genius and he's amazing in it. And playing with that cast and not being overshadowed is impressive.
@@psifla99it only occurred to me recently just how good he is in that film: the scene where he's in the bathroom, reacting to the caustic teens; the dejected state he plays in the scene after. Really good.
Of all the interviews I've seen in this series, this one is, by far, the best. I was not prepared for that. The guy's a genius, and he knows who he is. And, I got to laugh...
Tim Allen is a comic genius. I loved his films, The Santa Claus, Galaxy Quest, all the Toy Story films, For Richer or Poorer & Wild Hogs & The Shaggy Dog. I found this interview to be the most interesting of all the series so far. Home improvement & Last Man Standing are funny as hell.
Isn't it wonderful? I've had two sunny days, walked to the store both days, got outside, walked 1.2 miles each way, gone for at least 2 hours, maybe 3. NO PHONE. Didn't miss it, didn't get it out, BUT, it is how I got to watch this interview.🤨🙄😊You are an interesting guy, and I loved Galaxy Quest, (and I'm 63 yrs old!)
People that don’t forget about Tim Allen because he first started way before home improvement. He did the Comedy Central and I believe it was HBO as well. Back in the day standup comedy tour. Men are pigs, more power, and other ones like that I’m sure you could find them on UA-cam get ready to have a box of Kleenex with you and laugh until you can’t laugh anymore because it’s that funny.
What got me hooked on HI was one episode: Before the parents both left for a school thing after work from their home, the last minutes were busy with them turning the lights off on the entire set before they left and perhaps even locking the door. No dialogue and no loughs. Thought that nailed it!
Sitcom genius. Would have loved to work background on his shows. Made it to 2 Home Improvement tapings (one in the Tool Time section). Love his gag reels for HI and LMS.
I loved his sitcoms & Harry’s Law also! Loved his second book, too! ♥️🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 And I love when he gets philosophical! YES! It’s the second answer! 🤣 All Realities exist! Pick one! ⭐️💫😁👍🏼
I did not realize how erudite Tim Allen was until this interview, which just makes me admire him even more. One can delineate clearly his characters from his real persona. What a talent.
Wow. Nice. Kinda confirms my sweet spot for Tim Allen. I remember driving down LA when Home Improved was really popular and you could not miss it. Even from the highway. There were signs on buildings. Culver city was full of them...Cool guy!
It shows how talented Tim is to have many sitcoms and be a republican in Hollywood. We know how much Hollywood doesn’t like republicans. Funny shouldn’t be determined by politics
There are a lot of intelligent actors, but Tim has a native curiosity that has made him learn about things that most people don't look at very closely, if they can help it.
Home Improvement was on when my boys were about the same age & we loved it! Cuz was something we could all watch & laugh at ... nothing like it! Now 30 years later same cuz we watch Last Man Standing & my youngest is w 20-something girl 😄 --- still the best on TV
Of course some children in the 90s, heard about Tim's arrest, and his stand up. We think and we realized it right away, or just ignore it and say eh about the arrest and we also know why. But we kept our mouths shut anybody younger than us.
How many 8-9 year sitcoms did you star in? How many times did you have, all at the same time, the number 1 movie, TV show and NYT bestselling book? How many movies with multiple sequels have you starred in? How many comedy residencies have you had in Vegas?
hey? He should tell his story of when he was Timothy Dick and he sold cocaine to students and once he got caught--became an INFORMANT to have his charges dropped. He ratted on the other guys he was working with and they went to prison and he became Tim Allen Conservative Dad. Hypocrisy at its finest
@@Jaydogg222 I'm sorry--but your question isnt material to the facts I wrote. I dont like him because he's Mr. Conservative yet in his real life, he's Timothy Dick (real name) who sold cocaine to college kids an when caught--ratted out several people so he could get a reduced sentence. People refer to people who do such things as "RATS" and I agree--I feel he is a rat...but worse--what MANY on the right are..a HYPOCRITE. So, me being "hurt" somehow? Matter not...but I think I get your "joke"......To be honest--It's really not a very funny reply. But,I guess when you have no real argument to counter with you go straight to Ad Hoc....what is called a "Logic fallacy" ....Ad hoc fallacy occurs when someone comes up with a rationale to dismiss the counter-evidence to their claim in a bid to protect it. And also you tried to use an Ad Hominem style of argument...those occur when someone has no real argument back on something being debated so they resort to trying to get personal--like you did. (I just graduated from college and attend law school; soooooooo this is how I learned of these things. In reasoning and critical thinking classes. Perhaps you should look into taking some course)
Pioneers if you die today will you go to heaven? Have you ever lied, stolen, hated, used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? According to God's law, you're guilty, your headed for hell, ignorance will not be an excuse... But wait, God loves you, he made a way out for you, God's son Jesus died paying for your sin. God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Love Y'all
You’re. It’s you ARE headed for Hell. It may be a fictional place but go ahead and Capitalize the H. One would think, as superior in morality you’ve presented yourself to be, you’d have used H E double toothpicks. Bless your heart.
Does he mention how he ratted on a bunch of people to get out of a cocaine bust Wayback win. How he got busted and put his problems on someone else so that he could have this career?
Not enough credit goes to this man, he is truly great
Here at 39 watching Tim Allen almost all my life on tv really makes me feel like he’s part of my family.

That scene where he’s forced to say “we lied” to Mathesar? That’s his best moment as an actor, full stop, IMO.
@psifla99 just a gut punch for sure

A true legend and one of the most fascinating men, much less comics or actors... Tim Allen is the best! Great interview!
look up his past when he was Timothy Dick. (his real name) He got caught selling something

he would be GREAT in a psychological thriller! i'd love to see it
This was a pleasant surprise
I hear Buzz Lightyear every time I listen to Tim Allen’s voice!
If he had done The new Buz Lightyear movie it probably wouldn't have flopped so badly.
This interview was great at showing the real Tim Allen. Super likable and moved up on the list of guys to have a beer with..😁
Tim is in recovery from alcohol use disorder and does not consume alcohol.
@@carrietremble Statement still stands 😂
TIM ALLEN, RAY ROMANO & JERRY SEINFELD.......CLASSIC Sitcoms 😁👍🏻👍🏻
William Shatner also was on a show on the family channel
called rescue 911
Great to hear him mention Alan Rickman from Galaxy Quest being a really good actor! 💎♥️
Never knew Wilson was based on a real person. Tim Allen's passion and attention to detail in the early years feels contagious.

One of the most intelligent explanations about show business and the process of entertainment yet heard.

he is a very smart nice clever guy..
Always enjoy Tim. When did this interview actually happen? It would be nice to add the date in the summary. Thx
He talks about Eve wanting to join the ROTC as a seemingly recent plot point so I’m guessing 2013.
Love him. ❤️

Orthodox Jew here. How the heck does Tim Allen know about Sefer Yetzira?
pretty self-aware
I tried it. Looked like fun. It wasn't. That lifestyle on the road is brutal IMHO. Lonely. Not for me. Respect their choices. I couldn't do it. 😮
Home improvement😊

But Tim redeem his career, if he wasn't cast he would not be knowed
@@lexkanyima2195 as I've said, some kids didn't care what happened. We watched and liked home improvement and didn't care for his bad back story.
He comes off as a bit of ‘tool’ in the beginning of this interview.
