SO excited to see 3D back! I've been importing the recent MCU entries in 3D from Japan and now having 3D readily available is just the best.
💯 I’ve been doing the exact same thing!! Imports are not cheap and asked a friend in Japan to order the movies for me!

The 3D is on 2 discs plus extras disc plus Blu-ray Disc - 3D is superb quality and the one to get if you have the kit to play it. UK supplier is HMV and the post paid cost in the UK is £30 for the steel book.
This movie looks insane on OLED in HDR 4K. Stunning.

Basic 4k boxes for me. They don't need to be any more expensive than they are.
Also have a 3D projector, Benq 3550, I’m sure it will look great, the original sure does!
I got the 3D version a couple days ago and the image quality is fantastic. Very detailed, great colors on my LG 65". Of the over 300 3D movies I have this *might* just be the best 3D image I have seen on it. Really, really happy Disney decided to do this blue ray release in 3D.
What 3D movies can you remember that have a lot of pop-outs other than "Coming at ya? and I mean more like regular motion pop-outs not bullets at light speed? Something like what we use to see in Disneyland in the 3D theater where a snake would come out slowly and would practically be with arm length to touch it ,and everyone would like WOE
To play this disc you'll need both right, 3d tv and 3d disc player?

I have the avatar 3d lenticulair edition, so for the second one i want the 3d edition first. 3d is the way to go for this film imo. I will buy the 4k one day but only if the price has dropped.

I got the blu ray 3D and 4k steelbook a few days ago would be great if 3D tvs was a thing again.
On UHD 4K is amazing, on blu ray 3D come from another planet!!!!
We've just had this released in the UK, same cover art here, I wish the 3D bluray steelbook which is a HMV exclusive in the UK had different artwork instead of sharing the same as the 4K steelbook.
There is a 3D / 4K combo which can be ordered from Amazon Japan. Currency Transfer is about $54 US dollars .
This is a movie with forced subtitles for the Navi, better check that they are in the language you want
The Way of Water Target decal has that same “A” collage, just with diff images. I thought that should’ve been a cover too.
The bad thing about this is you have to get a 3-D tv to see these 3-d Blu=rays. They should start making these 3-D blu-rays for the regular 4-K TV'S.
4K 3D requires modified 4K Ultra HD Blu ray disc standard and new players they want push 8K more so

I can't imagine a better HDR tech demo in an actual blockbuster movie than Avatar 1, with the bioluminescence in the night time forest scenes. If ever there was something worthy of an upgrade from bluray, surely its this!

I might be the first one to NEVER own any physical media version of Avatar since its release in 2010. I just preordered the ultimate 4K version with 4 discs and along with the sequel! It’s 64.99 Canadian dollars each!
So no double dipping for me to wait this long for the best! The ultimate editions are coming on December 19 2023!
Worth noting a cool way to watch 3D Blu-Rays without a 3D TV/Projector is with a PC hooked up to a VR headset.

Thank you for the info. I bought the Walmart exclusive but had to add a box of cereal to get the free shipping. I’ll wait for the 3D version as I can’t set up my Epson projector currently. Too cluttered in my living room. LOL. Yes, I would have loved an all in one deal, too. I already have the Panasonic Avatar 3D from back in the day. I got the 4K from Amazon.
I got the lenticular because it was the only 4K in stock but I don’t like them. I only get the steelbook if the art is phenomenal. Westworld Season 2 comes to mind. Otherwise standard boxes or even slipcovers are ok.
Probably just gonna go with the two basic 4K releases. Can't wait.
So find and get the 3D Bluray package just because it is so rare to see offered.... get the 4k option later at a discount in 3-6 Months
I pre ordered Avatar and avatar way of water 4K steelbook from best buy on day one it was available to pre order. So looking forward to June 20

Good vid man. You can still watch 3d movies in vr. It's quite the process but it works pretty good and I do it all the time.
I have watched a couple 3D movies in vr. It’s different. I actually got a bit of vertigo watching The Walk in 3D vr. But it is a cool option.

I got the steelbook, Avatar 1 4k, and the Walmart lenticular. But, I wished the lenticular were a magnet. 🤷🏾♂️

Problem is I thought the 3d version would be sold in stores but know it's only available online i did not here anything about it being sold online only luckily after checking stores like Walmart and Target Best Buy and finding this out I Immediately went online ordered 2 3D copies from Best Buy one for me and one for my mom she loves this movie and like me it had to be the 3D version not too long after it sold out from Best Buy Target also sold out Walmart I think had some but they were charging 46 plus where as Best Buy had it for about 34 plus
I think people who still got a playstation 4 and psvr should be able to watch blu ray 3d movies I think it should work as well on the ps5
I’m getting the same combo, Walmart lenticular 4K and 3D double dip.
If you ordered the 3d from Walmart you got robbed there charging way more for the 3d version then other places
I think i'll go with the 4K steelbook edition BUT I am curious about the Walmart lenticular version so will keep my eyes peeled for that one before buying and hopefully the bluray is region free ABC. I dont own a 3D TV/projector although I do own the beautiful Avatar 3D Bluray, Bluray, DVD steelbook which is pretty rare and the extended version you have so I think i'll wait for Avatar in 4K to go down in price before buying (again) I love the first film and the cover art is ace!
Most vr headsets have blu ray 3D playback.
@@comicbookguygamecat I'm a bit unfamiliar with the VR headsets. Are you talking about the PlayStation VR? My Sony 4k Bluray player does have 3D playback, I only have a 4K HDR monitor... Sorry for the long response lol 👍
Thank god I have the LG oled 65" 6EV that includes the 3D, model is from 2016 and is stunning.

The A on the spine of the walmart exclusive doesn't line up with the other releases or Avatar 1 4k.
The Avatar 2 3D blu - ray looks cool, but why don't they make a Avatar 2 3D 4K version?
The manufacturers and developers of UHD 4K excluded 3d from their specification so you will never be able to buy a 4K 3D release. Avatar 3d is spread over 2 discs so you get a better quality 3d picture than you would if it was just on one disc - so James Cameron has done us fans a big favour.
Preordered the Walmart exclusive. Do really love a well designed Steelbook but we know this release is pricey.
you said that the avatar way of water steelbook was 39 dollars but when I ordered my copy it cost 43 after tax and shiping

had high hopes of avatar on 4k but the last few disney on 4k havent been the great on 4k with movie not getting dolby vision or let alone imax scenes.
All 4K Ultra HD Blu ray discs should have Dolby Vision and alk Blu ray discs 1080p 3D and 4K Ultra HD Dolby Atmos.😎

@@michaelliptak4297 there is actually a difference between 1080p and 2k/4k, if being viewed on a screen of 100 inches or more. I got avatar 2 in 3d, but the 1080p visuals do show age compared to a 4k image, usually in the brighter scenes. 4k isn't a gimmick under the right circumstances.
Amazon Japan has the 3D4K combo which costs nearly $75us shipped.
So ... can I play the 3D version on my Sony 4k TV still without a 3D TV❓Since I don't have one...

First Off If people knew how to set up, A 3-D System, 3-D Would Of never crashed & burned...
Second if all the 3-D moves, was made as AWESOME as AVATAR WAY OF THE WATER is...
It even blew the regular AVATAR out of the water...

Because I Seen It IMAX 3-D, & It Was cramped in my face so hard that it hurt my eyes gave me a serious headache, I left after about an hour...
But I just watched the first part of 2 parts because they split the movie up because of the higher frame rate...

So 3D is making a comeback yet there are Z E R O (none ) 3D TVs out there unless you have an old 1080p model
From what I've gathered on Reddit 3d is making a comeback with Projector owners, not necessarily TV viewers.
For us projector owners, 3D has never left. I almost exclusively watch everything in 3D and it's frustrating when movies don't get a 3D release.
Give it time James Cameron is doing his part he's the reason this has a 3D Blu ray release if he had it his way 3D would be the norm 3D can work don't complicate by having multiple formats make one the real one polarized version not the crappy shutter glasses version
@@michaelliptak4297 actually, i chose to have active shutter in my home theater. The image is so much cleaner than polarized. There's always crosstalk when using polarized. I much prefer active.

I will get all formats except 3D .I have 3D Player with this capability and my TV does not. Many I know like this format and just as many ironically don't.
Best reason is to many say cost is a factor for a new TV. To few movies in this format to spend the extra money that is still relevant but extremely a niche interest. I will stick to the standard formats even though you really can't represent an IMAX worthy film at home. The Neemw Antman movie was streamed with IMAX .I have S22 Galaxy Ultra that has a screen that you can see an improvement but it still can't compare to IMAX quality at home. Keep on pushing for 3D no matter what. Every iteration of 3 D has had setbacks to early overproduction to some movies in 3D like Clash of the Titans being subpar in 3D rendering.
It not a simple process and another added expense to studios. James Cameron has options because he a his team built the newer processes. Until you can sit in front off your TV or Cellphone and see 3D without special glasses that everyone can see this 3D format will only be a niche market for those fans unfortunately

Your wrong in most countries 3d is very popular more popular then 4k world wide 4k is the least sold 4k is highly overrated that needs to go the only reason I have any 4 k is for other reasons like examples I bought the 4k version of Alita battle angel because it included the 3 Blu ray version the only reason I bought the 4k version of Mask of Zorro is it included the Blu Ray and it was only 3.00 I bought the 4k Blu combos of the first six Star Wars films brand new thru a double sale for 9.00 each
Personally I think the steelbook should be 49.99 great price point for the best movie of 2022

I guess you guys never heard of the first LG OLED models from 2016. Those tvs are really special. They have 4k, HDR, Dolby Vision and 3d.
It's simply the best 3d I've seen in home.
I expected we could get a format of this new Avatar with HFR as well.
I'm double dipping for this one.
