Where To Get The Best Oppenheimer Blu-Ray/4K Releases

- Oppenheimer is coming to physical media and there are several choices out there for collectors. 4K, Blu-Ray, DVD, DigiBook, Steelbook. We will take a look at where to get each box and prices, so you can decide for yourself. I’ll also share my opinion and discuss what art is missing from the release.

Nolan didn’t leave Warner because of Tenet. Tenet wasn’t released on streaming while it was in theaters. It had a similar theatrical window as Oppenheimer. He left Warner because they released their entire 2021 slate on streaming the same day as the movies hit theaters without telling the filmmakers.
Yes you are correct, Tenet wasn't simultaneously released on streaming. It was WB's overall decision with simultaneous streaming releases in 2021, (which didn't effect Tenet) that led to him leaving WB. I misspoke in the video. Thanks for the catch.
Warner Bros Pictures owns movies he seems to forget.

Dunkirk and Tenet don’t have much rewatchability, yeah right. Dunkirk especially is a movie you don’t get until you’ve watched it multiple times. Even Tarantino took three times until he got what it was.

Thanks for the breakdown. I like the look of the Walmart one.. but might do the regular 4K/Bluray combo pack. I do wish you gave more info about what is included in the set. Like basic rundown of special features. Do all the packs include a separate disk for special features? Thanks for the video.

honestly prefer the steelbook art but i agree it's not the best. i don't like steelbooks so i'll get the basic 4K, thank God they include the Blu Ray, I dont buy 4Ks unless they are coupled with a blu ray

Got the steelbook coming in the mail! Steelbook artwork is very subjective. There have been a lot of phenomenal steelbooks, and some misses. The Mario steelbook is incredibly minimalistic, which I heard a whole lot of people didn’t care for. But I personally loved that the style was different and clean, and it stands out well from my other steelbooks. Oppenheimer here may not be something to ride home about but it’s a proper reflection of the movie. It’s “fine.”
I personally like the Walmart exclusive the most, but the steelbook is nice too!

Good video. Comprehensive and to the point. I want the Best Buy steelbook because it will be the rarest and most collectable. I also like that the art is subtle compared to the others. Too many posters have giant floating heads of the main cast. To me that’s not very creative.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm not a big fan of head salad on posters either. The Steelbook art is definitely better than that. Thinking about it more, I can appreciate the almost minimalist style for the Steelbook art.
I got the European steelbook that had Murphy on the cover. Can’t wait to get it.

Hope you have a fast recovery. The 4k has a 2.20:1 ratio and the IMAX scenes are 1.78:1
The cover art for the Icon Edition came out as a steelbook in Hong Kong.
basic 4k would be the best purchase but i am curious what a more recent Nolan movie would look like on DVD.

4k discs don’t have the room for special features, so they are almost always found on the blu ray disk.
Handy if you want 1080p copy and if haven't upgraded to 4K Ultra HD Blu ray and fact charging the same price as double pack.

oppenheimer steelbook is the way to go
I am getting the regular 4K version. In the UK, it's £10 for the DVD version, £15 for Blu-Ray version and £25 for the 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray version which comes with the normal Blu-Ray version which I have noticed with movies like Barbie and The Super Mario Bros. Movie which the 4K version doesn't come with the normal Blu-Ray version which in my opinion should be a bit cheaper than Oppenheimer for that reason. As far as I'm aware there is no 4K, Blu-Ray and DVD combo, should be a thing in my opinion

Will they release the movie in imax aspect ratio?
Nolan always makes sure his discs go into the imax ratio on those scenes but not on the digital versions.
Blu ray disc and 4K Ultra HD Blu ray have IMAX scenes for certain scenes

For me it's not something that I've wanted to re-watch, but I certainly understand other people wanting to re-watch it. I'm sure I'll revisit it sometime, I do own it.

I wouldn't get none of these !!! The movie was wayyyyy to long and boring . Could not sit through 3 long hours of this let alone watch it again or own it .
