I think the idea is he's supposed to get a burst of extra "magical" stamina for each rewind to compensate the multiple injuries he receives while resetting his opponent otherwise it would hinder him more than help him, especially on the resets where he ends basically immobilized by pain/trauma
Ekko won the fight, he had it, but he saw the wall and went back to fix it Ekko got to paradise where all was well, he won, he had it, he saw what Zaun could be and went back to fix it. This... is Ekko's character. Such a brilliant character before or after Arcane.

God that ending gets me everytime. I love how the destruction of that wall made ekko decide to go back in time and fight again just so he could preserve that piece of art. Add in that line that's playing at that moment ("if you can't make the most out of any given moment, then you don't deserve a single extra second") combined with his facial expressions and you got a 10/10 sick ass scene.
I don't think it's about the art itself, but about what is shown. I can make a mistake here, but the art indicates that he is childhood friends with Jinx and Ezreal. Wait, no, that boy is his childhood friend but not Ezreal. Gets me everytime. Always forget the comic.
It's implied Vi and Jinx were a part of his crew but Vi left and Jinx went insane. The wall represents the good times, even if he's tired it's important to him and there's no way he's going to let it get destroyed. He won't stop until he has the perfect outcome. Also can we appreciate the fact that Ekko is actually insanely smart? Not only did he create a mechanism that allows him to move back to a certain point in time, but he also immediately identified how to take down his enemy (as shown by how he noticed the freezing tube, the overheated part on the back, and the screws on the arm in the first scuffle).

Vi had her gauntlet, Caitlyn have her rifle, Singed is now bald, Warwick in the making, Jayce got his hammer, Possibly Orianna being Singed's daughter, Viktor half machine/magic, Jinx with Pow-Pow and fishbone. Only Ekko and Heimerdinger hasn't gotten their signature powers yet.
What I get from this video about Ekko's character: He's not a good fighter, he is clever. It took him at least four attempts to beat this guy. His battle instincts aren't that good, he just learns from his mistakes by correcting them afterwards, but he doesn't anticipate his enemies moves. His real standout talent we see is how he needs just one short glaze at his enemy's tech to identify it's weaknesses and develope and adapt tactics to hit those. I also like the little hint to his passive with that.
@xXJOSEXx Unlikely. Ekko is too young for that. Ekko hasn't aged visibly between this trailer and the Piltover/Zaun clip. Teenagers normaly age faster visibly than adults, so this incident didn't happen too long ago. I think this guy is rather one of Urgot's followers and his design reflects Urgot's, because it was made to immitate him.

I remember watching this when Ekko originally released and him instantly becoming my favorite champion and he has been ever since. I rewatched it a few years ago after season 1 of Arcane and again now after season 2. Loved any time I heard the 'Seconds' theme in Arcane and most people won't even notice it.
Ekko has always been one of my favorites characters in League. Arcane just made me geek out over this cinematic so much more than before, especially after Episode 7 and the Finale in Season 2.
I mean, if you ha a mural made to remember your dear loved ones who passed away and some dude just destroyed it (or in this case you technically cause it to be destroyed) and you could rewind time to prevent the destruction of it, wouldn't you do it as well??
What I love the most about Ekko is that his fights both in lore and gameplay are extremely short. Takes into account how important time is to him, and how long it took for him to be that efficient in wasting no time at all...

I remember when I watched this for the first time in the hospital room when I was 14. It hit different after arcane season 1 and now again. I really love this character.
It's kinda sad that Ekko didn't have his time powers during the events of Arcane, but that's kind of the point. A lot of what happened could have been easily avoided. It was quite the series of unfortunate events, and that only emphasizes the idea that 'Jinx' causes the worst case scenarios to occur whenever she is involved.
I'm pretty sure he used time travel in his fight with Jinx, it's nowhere near confirmed, and I could also just be wrong, but I think he was shot in the chest by jinx, rewound time, then dodged all the bullets on the bridge

@@Doublejho I'd say it works just like his actual ult, he kinda heals, but a great part of the pain is psychological, his body fully healed, but his mind wasn't ready for it, so the pain didnt go away immediatly. just like sometimes you cut your arm or your finger and you don't feel anything until you actually notice it, except it's the opposite, he "noticed" the wound, but it isn't there, which makes him feel the discomfort for perhaps a few minutes
I remember watching this in a TV store years ago a kid. It was being played to show off the TV in display. Seeing to cool character with the most unique powers I've seen. Imagine my surprise when I was forced to watch Arcane by a friend and see someone I haven't seen in a long Time
I came back here to watch this video again after watched Arcane. I started loving the character as soon as this trailer came up, and playing him too. Great story. Ekko did a great play at the end, when the team died, feeded Viktor , and he solo him a while. GG report team,, ctrl+5.

Ekko was such a game breaking champion when he came out. I remember everyone was all over because WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE GOES BACK WHERE HE WAS 4 SEC AGO. It was a crazy concept in league back then. Now there's so many unique abilities but there werent many at that time and it was so cool

To clear the confusion, no, that is not Claggor in the mural. It's Ajuna from the Chronobreak comic. He's a friend who was killed by a Piltie and Ekko couldn't save him no matter how many times he went back in time. It's possible that Claggor & Mylo's photos are on the far right like others have been saying, but Ajuna's goggles are confusing people, so there you go. And although Arcane is unrelated to Ajuna's story, you can see other murals everywhere in Zaun, which are to pay tribute to those who've died. So Arcane might hit different once you realize every mural is a life lost, but this is revealed in the comic, not the video. (Edit: A very convincing reply is making me doubt my statement. It's quite possible that the boy in the mural could be Claggor.)

@@Samuel720p The picture on the wall doesn't even look anything like the characters from arcane. The glasses doesn't match any we saw, hairstyle, body shape, face, nothing matches. If you look at vis splash art tho, she wears the glasses of one of the kids so I made that theory months ago that the kid dies and that's why jinx and vi split up. I assumed it was vi who got the kid killed since in vi's lore it says she was the leader of a gang before becoming an enforcer and she screwed up a heist/got betrayed by a rival gang member before she disappeared. That would also make sense why jinx terrorizes piltover to get back at vi but turns out jinx is the cause and she just hates vi for 'leaving' her. I got pretty close with my predictions tho. There's a lot of 'easter eggs' in the champion interactions too, for example, warwick when he taunts vi he says: "The fear in your eyes. I've seen it before." "Zaun needed you!" "Who taught you how to punch?" - apparently himself also says "Zaun gave me claws long before you did." to singed so vander is definitely warwick and the other dude is singed. Probably tons of others in the voice lines too, might be worth checking out all the voice lines for every character in the show...

I love how even in this he so dearly cares for the mural, and it really shows.
I mean, if you ha a mural made to remember your dear loved ones who passed away and some dude just destroyed it (or in this case you technically cause it to be destroyed) and you could rewind time to prevent the destruction of it, wouldn't you do it as well??
What I love the most about Ekko is that his fights both in lore and gameplay are extremely short. Takes into account how important time is to him, and how long it took for him to be that efficient in wasting no time at all...
Everyone's making jokes about wasting time but I'm still here because this short is just so genuinely masterfully done.

@@jethropark7660 Nah, this looks more like Borderlands (especially if you look at the intentional outlining of the characters, still not the exact same as Borderlands tho), Arcane uses 3D models which are painted over with a 2D style, which isn't even close to what this is.

It's kinda sad that Ekko didn't have his time powers during the events of Arcane, but that's kind of the point. A lot of what happened could have been easily avoided. It was quite the series of unfortunate events, and that only emphasizes the idea that 'Jinx' causes the worst case scenarios to occur whenever she is involved.
While short time travel is quite strong. It still affects Ekko's body when he reverts back time.
I'm pretty sure he used time travel in his fight with Jinx, it's nowhere near confirmed, and I could also just be wrong, but I think he was shot in the chest by jinx, rewound time, then dodged all the bullets on the bridge
@@aidancmoon It seems to me that it was more of a flashback for both of them. Ekko knew how Jinx was gonna shoot him and dodged accordingly. Thats why it switched back and forth between their kid and teen versions I think

@@Doublejho I'd say it works just like his actual ult, he kinda heals, but a great part of the pain is psychological, his body fully healed, but his mind wasn't ready for it, so the pain didnt go away immediatly.
just like sometimes you cut your arm or your finger and you don't feel anything until you actually notice it, except it's the opposite, he "noticed" the wound, but it isn't there, which makes him feel the discomfort for perhaps a few minutes

I came back here to watch this video again after watched Arcane. I started loving the character as soon as this trailer came up, and playing him too. Great story. Ekko did a great play at the end, when the team died, feeded Viktor , and he solo him a while. GG report team,, ctrl+5.

To clear the confusion, no, that is not Claggor in the mural. It's Ajuna from the Chronobreak comic. He's a friend who was killed by a Piltie and Ekko couldn't save him no matter how many times he went back in time. It's possible that Claggor & Mylo's photos are on the far right like others have been saying, but Ajuna's goggles are confusing people, so there you go. And although Arcane is unrelated to Ajuna's story, you can see other murals everywhere in Zaun, which are to pay tribute to those who've died. So Arcane might hit different once you realize every mural is a life lost, but this is revealed in the comic, not the video.
(Edit: A very convincing reply is making me doubt my statement. It's quite possible that the boy in the mural could be Claggor.)

The mural looks too much like Ajuna so I'm hoping his timeline might've occurred while Ekko was still in the process of inventing time travel between arcs 2 & 3 of Arcane. But chances are it's Claggor.

@@Samuel720p The picture on the wall doesn't even look anything like the characters from arcane. The glasses doesn't match any we saw, hairstyle, body shape, face, nothing matches. If you look at vis splash art tho, she wears the glasses of one of the kids so I made that theory months ago that the kid dies and that's why jinx and vi split up. I assumed it was vi who got the kid killed since in vi's lore it says she was the leader of a gang before becoming an enforcer and she screwed up a heist/got betrayed by a rival gang member before she disappeared.
That would also make sense why jinx terrorizes piltover to get back at vi but turns out jinx is the cause and she just hates vi for 'leaving' her. I got pretty close with my predictions tho. There's a lot of 'easter eggs' in the champion interactions too, for example, warwick when he taunts vi he says:
"The fear in your eyes. I've seen it before."
"Zaun needed you!"
"Who taught you how to punch?" - apparently himself
also says "Zaun gave me claws long before you did." to singed so vander is definitely warwick and the other dude is singed.
Probably tons of others in the voice lines too, might be worth checking out all the voice lines for every character in the show...
