That's because you have not talked to a person that went to driving school they come out thinking that they know everything it doesn't matter that you've been driving for 20 years they just got done with the driving school and they like to tell the Old timer how the back up and do this and do that how did they learn everything and 6 weeks or for whatever in the driver that been driving for 20 years is still learning every day
@KeithKurtz-kn3rj I have been driving for 47 years over the road. When I train someone fresh out of trucking school, I would tell them to forget everything they learned in school, and we would start all over with good old school training.
that for sure and the big companies put warm body person with no experience driving in in snow or ice tell him make the delivery on time or get a different job and drivers is from Florida or Southern States and has no experience driving on snow and ice company think since you got your CDL driver's license you know how to do everything in the federal government are just as bad
What puzzles me. People whare I work. Talk on cell phones getting away because they have hed set. Shoud be fired same thing. U can hear a speaker on the camera saying DISTRACTED constantly
😮 how many times the sensor would kick on the anti-lock brakes coming up to a Viaduct suddenly the brakes kick on I wonder how many times that has happened to people where they're on black ice I have it disconnected in my truck or I won't drive the truck
Retired Catapiller Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Not hard to figure out. Terrible drivers, we have the same problem with inexperienced people running Heavy Equipment. People with no common sense.
@rickchambers73 It's funny that you said that because they have schools to teach people how to operate heavy equipment. NCCER, they teach you how to pass a test. It's the same with NCCCO and commercial truck driving. I guess having a piece of paper is worth more than actual skills, common sense just isn't common anymore!
my guess is either those safety systems failed and werent fixed or they were disabled by some scumbag that said forget the safety systems im a pro driver i dont need fancy tech in my truck!
@dylanlindsay1993 Well, I guess I'm one of those scumbags. I drove a truck about 4 years ago with Collision mitigation. The truck was afraid of shadows and it would slam on the brakes! Almost cause a pile up on the Interstate. Everybody was trying to pass me at the same time. I pulled over and unplugged the collision mitigation radar, got into an altercation with a few people because they thought I was "brake checking" them. Anyways got back to the terminal, Company already knew what happen. They had cameras facing inside and out of the truck. Seven counts of "hard braking" with nothing in front of the truck. Management and maintenance said nothing was wrong with the "Safety Systems" Long story short, Collision mitigation system was faulty. My experience help me avoid that wreck. However, if a wreck would have occurred. I would be automatically blamed! And the company with their "safety systems" and "cameras" had evidence. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove!
no I listen to a Swift driver as long as we don't hear alarm goes off we don't have to worry about anything like Paul Harvey said did we outsmart ourselves
Because there are poeple driving now that have no reason driving a big truck
The driver that is in the truck does not belong in a big truck on responsibility in the truck.
Amen
We need to go back to all school trucks and teach them the old school way to drive trucks 🎉

It is speed and cruise control.
These safety systems in cars and semis, fool people into a false since of safety and cause to not be involved in their driving.
Just an opinion
@jeffreywyatt4371 I agree.
Probably alot are medical emergencys aswell
