I have practiced shooting more time than actually playing the game and I am known as the fire gun :) If I had made a video like this It'd be a bit different. 1. Prepare mentally for the shot. You need to hate the ball and not be afraid of hitting it. So many guys slice the ball because they're scared of it + they gain control. If you train hitting the ball hard every day your foot will get hard and your control will also be more confident. You should end a session when your foot aches (after about 2-3 hours) 2. Body shape is much more important than run up. I can hit the ball harder than most guys, standing still. When you approach the ball you need to move from a very closed body shape, arms close to your body. As you land your balance foot you are now in a totally open body shape with arms stretched and, most importantly, your hips are in a slight angle. You then close your body shape and let your belly help as well as the swing motion. 3. Never use the inside of the foot. You should try to hit the ball with the very centre of your foot and the wrist should be 180 degrees open. This makes all the difference. Guys who use closer to 90 degrees angle on their wrists are crappy free kickers when it comes to power. This is one of the most important things in my technique. 4. We'll see if this makes sense but I will try to explain it. Example to check out is Roberto Carlos vs France friendly game pre world cup - that world famous free kick. Run up should be in the direction as if you were kicking the ball with the inside of the foot. Foot motion is going towards the ball as if you'd be kicking with the outside of your foot. Hit should be in the centre of the ball with an outside spin follow through. Forget about knuckle ball - they have an extremely limited power range. 5. Relax your body in the run up. Too much tension and will can hurt the follow through. Your shot can be determined by a milli second after hitting the ball just by the feel of the follow through body shape. Let all the energy out and make an extra mini jump if you hit the sweet spot. I've noticed it enhances muscle memory. 6. Hitting the ball you should always strive to have your wrist as pointed down to the ground as you can. Your body should feel like it is going over the ball and you impact should come as close to straight under you as you possibly can. Practice pings. It is a great mental enhancer that translates from your hands to your feet and makes your brain learn a lot of ball movement. You get hundreds of touches in a very short time and your decision making will be great. This tip is one of the basics. I need to make my own video :)
Other important things imo are locking your ankle proper. The more room your foot is allowed to bend the less energy is transferred into the ball. Also leaning slightly to the left (as a right footer) matters a lot. Don't want to go dipping your foot into the ground.
Im an amateur footballer, free time player with friends or colleagues, enver played football actually or had a signle real football practice. Been always mediocre at finishing. One month of this videos (and others, to be fair) and suddenly I am smashing banger I enver realized are possible. I practice basically every evening after work for 1 hour and just after few weeks I see huge improvement, shots are more consistent, accurate, powerfull. You simply feel it when you strike the ball right, something I never did before until I started locking my ankle, looking down and followingh through. Technique is everything!

My whole life I've been able to pass the ball, have great ball control and be able to make long passes but never been able to hit the ball with accuracy and power combined when taking a free kick, long shot etc. Hopefully this video will help

If you want to practice left foot hear me out Kick mainly with the left foot passes,shots,skills etc It takes at least a month if you practice at least 3 times a week but you’ll get used to it and will get better form After you start to get better form start using both feet as I remember that I started to forget how to use my right for a second,This lowkey improves a lot more than just having a good weak foot,this will improve you chances to make varsity in soccer btw

One other tip I tell my players is to squeeze with the core when striking the ball. This helps keep the body leaning forward and prevents too short of a follow through.

bend your knees of planting foot , its a key it will give you extra power , accuracy ,balance bend your knees and you will see the difference instantly
The knees should naturally bend when you plant your supporting foot. But yeah, if they didn't it would surely prevent anyone from shooting with maximum power.
If you are right-footed, 1) lean your body to the left more, 2) place your planting foot more left to the ball, 3) bend the knee of your planting foot more to lower your centre of gravity.

I’ve grown to be a defender since I started playing this sport (for 12 years). I’m pretty short and my running speed isn’t the best. I’m aiming to be a striker. I’ve practiced with my dad and things I’ve noticed is that I can’t get the ball to shoot up high. Doing free kicks are pretty hard for me cause I end up hitting the players instead of hitting the goal. So I’m watching videos and hope to learn how to shoot better. Im really aiming to become a great striker and be able to play a match already prepared.
Okay so I hope this helps. I play D1 soccer 2008’s in the United States. I play winger and this is the technique I use for mainly crosses and pings to get it high in the air. Pretty much you have to hit the bottom right or left depending on your dominant foot and plant a solid foot next to it, now that you know where to hit it you need to use your laces but don’t angle them straight down tilt them because if you angle them straight down your toes might hit the ground and slow your kick. You have to hit it in between the inside of your foot and the laces at the bone under your toe with power. That’s what I do I hope you see this 😄✌️

This actually helps i usually use mind games to win over the goal keeper but now i shoot the ball abt 50km/h and i dont need anything b4 the goal keeper start reacting it will be too late cos 0.5-0.8 secs later Goallllll
apart from the technique, the lateral abs do the real work. They partially control the leg muscles and exercising them gives you a faster and improved rotation of the thigh. Trained leg muscles are mainly there to prevent any injuries on the knee and the hip
