F&R, I sincerely appreciate you doing this video my guy. I wanted to know what that reducer would sound like vs the louvered baffle and I will keep my louvered baffle in. The decel from louvered is a sound that can’t be imitated, I mean I LOVE that sound. Great video and comparison💯🤙🏾💪🏾
Very nice job on the video !! I just purchased the full system, Outlaw 2 into 1, three step header with the ghost pipe for my RKS (122ci). My header side muffler has a 2.5 inch "high flow absorptive baffle" with a 3 inch reverse cone to maximize torque. It comes that was right out of the box and I anticipate that I'll run it that way without using any of the "inserts" you mention.
Thank you Sir! You just helped me make my decision. I just purchased a 24 CVO RG in legendary orange. The bike is stunning, but as you know, it sounds like a sewing machine. Based on your video, I'm going with the louvered baffles and will place my order tomorrow morning. Your CVO looks really sharp. Thanks again.
Great comparison video! I have the header 2:2 4.5” kit was waiting to be installed with a dyno. Waiting for the louvered baffles to arrive. I have a 2009 FLHTCHSE 4 with a fair amount of engine work done. Have had D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1 for the past 12 years. Looking forward to my new exhaust. Thanks again for your review!
I appreciate you trying the different baffles and options. I have to agree with you 100% that the louvered baffles sound and perform the best.. I have a 117 stage 2 also with the louvered baffles
First off thanks for taking the time to make the video. Awesome job! I just purchased the 23 cvo road glide and installed the KW mufflers they sound awesome but I do feel a little loss in botton end torque. So am going to order the louvered baffles as you recommend and see if I can get that torque back. Also I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks!
Awesome! Welcome to the channel and congratulations on the CVO, amazing bike! You will enjoy the combination of power and sound with the louvered baffles 🤙
Thanks for the review. I have a 21 RGS, 114, stage 2 (cam very similar to RS468), KW dominator 2-2, Stealth AC and PV with dyno tune. 119/130. I have the tongued Performance baffle. Works very well and makes great TQ and power. I'm happy with the sound and think it's actually loud when on the throttle. I would like to try the louvered just to see how it is. IMO, when you installed the reducer with the louvered inserts you made a performance baffle. The reducer adds back pressure which the M8 needs for full potential. Ultimately, I'm going to switch to a KW 2-1. I'm a 2-1 guy but they were unavailable due to supply when I did my build but for now, the 2-2 works great. I also run the full Wilbers suspension. Installed them Nov of 21. You will love them.
@@jasonsaxton156 There are 4 inserts (Baffles). 1) Performance (perforated) that has an adjustable tongue for back pressure and max performance. 2) Louvered. 3) Ripper (just a straight through tube). There is now also the reducer which is just a round plate with a center hole and cone shaped exit. The reducer also adds back pressure. M8's want back pressure with a good dyno tune.
Late to the party here, but just picked up a ‘24 RG. I have the 4.5 KW with no baffles and while I LOVE the sound, I get quite a bit of droning in the helmet, and it seems overly loud on long trips. I’ve tried the HD screaming eagle ti pipes and while a little on the quiet side, they’re really nice for longer rides, which is primarily what I do. So, I’m wondering if you’ve tried the ‘quiet’ baffles in the KW?
Great info, thanks for sharing. I just purchased the 2023 CVO recently and had the Khrome werks slip-ons installed, bike is stock and they sound great, but i immediately noticed a dip in torque. I ordered the louvered baffles and will install them as soon as i get them, but wondering if I should get the KW performance baffles instead. Its hard finding data about KW and determining what baffle to use, but your video helped a lot. thank you
First, congratulations on the CVO. Did you go with the road glide or the street glide? I have a few other videos on Khromewerks baffles and I have tested just about all of them and I can tell you hands-down louvered is the way to go.
Thanks brother! I purchased the CVO Road Glide "Dark Platinum." Its hard to pay an extra 6K for some Whiskey Neat Paint. When I ride I like to hear the pipes on the bike to know when to change gears. Like you, I can't sacrifice torque and horsepower for sound. Thanks again for information, keep up the good work!@@FLYANDRIDE15
Thanks for the comparisons. The time you made this video, was your bike stock with exhaust and cam or did you have a new header head pipe and upgraded cam while doing this video
@@johnbaillargeon7037 welcome and thank you. They typically don’t come with baffles. After all the testing I’ve done I recommend the louvered baffles, best of both worlds(sound and performance)
Great video once again my friend! I’m on a similar journey. 2019 Road Glide Special 114 with S&S 475 and KW 2-1-2 Dominator dyno tuned by Trask Performance. I tried the Reducers as well based on John’s video and like you I liked the low RPM improvement but much preferred the deeper sound without baffles. I’m now running DK Customs 158 Thunder Torque Inserts. The low rumble is as good (maybe better) as no baffles but with reversion improvement in the low end. This may be my long term solution 😂 BTW, you need the longer thread bolt option with the Khrome Werks to center the TTI’s.
UPDATE: I’m in the AZ White Mountains for the summer with an elevation of 7,000 ft and my bike didn’t run right so I spoke with Jared from KW and he suggested their performance baffles and bending the spoon up 1/2 way. Removed the TTI’s and installed them and bam my torque dip was gone! Never ending journey for sure!
thanks....considering this exhaust for my M8 2019 RGS. SO would you say that if I go with the louvered baffles and its a bit loud for our taste on long trips, I could add the reducers to "tone it down" a bit?
@@rbljackson the louvered is the right balance of sound and power and not bad for long trips. It’s much louder without the baffles. I think the reducers may be louder

Hi fly and ride I have the same exhaust and I have been using the louverd perforated baffle I like it but wanted to add the reducer. When u added the reducer plus louverd baffle did u notice any increase in the torque?
Try putting the DK 158 torque inserts. That’s what I’m running and it gave me the power back with a little loss of sound which I was ok with. Without out them it’s a little to loud.
@@jasonsaxton156 no, I installed the torque insert in the ripper baffle close to the mounting holes. I just tried keeping the DK torque insert in the right side and in the left side running a ripper and a reducer baffle in tandem. Wasn’t the easiest to line up the holes but I think it’s my favorite for long rides. It’s a less harsh and is a little deeper. For running around town a ripper in the left and a ripper in the right but with a DK torque insert is my favorite for sounding bad ass. It’s the closest to Cycle Fanatic,s 2 into 1 that sounds amazing.
