The way david brevic put it, diablo 2 remastered was such a challenge it should exist,
      The source code was lost.
The pc screens of the time made the grid system impossible to update without feeling off..also without the code it's a no no.
People still bought diablo 2 so blizzard were happy.
But they made a overlay and found a way to make it work.
Diablo 2 is the best remaster of all time imo because of how good it is and how much changed but still feels faithful.
But what I will say is prime is the most no brainer remaster around, it's only really been toped in it's culmination of shooting, platforming and secrets by the new doom games who heavily drew from metroid prime.
But it makes prime 4 a challenge as they will not release anything but a better game than doom, because the creator is a visionary and by not rushing you get games that last 20 plus years.

I can't believe the Switch is running this. At times it flat out looks like a current-gen game, all while running at a locked 60fps and 900p with anti-aliasing. This is hands down the best looking and most technically accomplished Nintendo game thus far, I expected to see this type of stuff on the Switch 2, not the current one.

Eh, I'm an older fan of the Prime series and I won't be playing the remaster. I'm a stickler for audio details, and the updated scan visor lines will never not irritate me. One of the most incredible aspects of Prime was that it flawlessly conveyed its entire story without the use of any spoken dialogue. The scanner saying "ADDED TO LOGBOOK" every time you scan a new creature is jarring beyond words for me.

3 Super Metroid SNES (if they announce a remake im having a heart attack)
      4 Metroid Fusion GBA

With some luck they gonna put Zero Mission on the switch online soon but you know, emulators are easily available vor any device you have.
Also theres no problem with starting from whats more easily available to you. Metroid games are amazing in any order.

I played Prime for the first time back in August of last year and there were a few points where I just missed a door right by me bc the grey centers tended to blend into the surrounding wall/thought the glow was part of my visor. Not sure if they would make this physical copy this long and the reason I say that it's because Metroid Prime Trilogy was released for the Wii but they didn't make the physical copies of that game long. That was one of the rarest copies you won't be able to find now unless you want to pay what quadruple the price on ebay or something? Not sure how long they would make this physical copy but let see. It’s more than a game for me.
    It’s an emotional experience.
I’ve been a lifelong fan of 2D Metroid games, never having had the chance to play the 3D ones (was broke, couldn’t afford a home Nintendo console).
This takes everything I’ve loved about my favorite franchise and let’s me explore this wonderful alien world the way I imagined it as a kid on my GBA.
Thank you Nintendo, for making this real on Switch.
Prime literally has become (possibly) my favorite game ever. It’s a masterpiece.

And as somebody who actually started on prime 2:echoes, followed by 3 as a child, it again feels like a perfect 'introduction' to the prime series in current times and Im glad they behave as If they plan on supporting the switch for many years following compared to the 'young age' some older generations of consoles brought to the table from other companies.

As I've been playing with it, I'll have to disagree with complaints about the pointer control scheme. It's no slower than other control schemes, and it's way better than the Wii. I figure you're not acting like Wii controls were perfect, but I played Trilogy on Wii, and the remote would frequently lose track of the sensor bar after turning the camera. With the pointer controls, all you have to do is enter the map, point your joycon at your preferred center, and unpause to recalibrate.

It does my heart good to know that some 21-years later and with no warning, this masterpiece of a game can jhst casually walk in the door, sit down without so much as a word spoken, and demand a seat at the table of any conversation of top 20 Switch games.
Knowing other franchises such as Xenoblade, Fire Emblem and Pokemon have multiple successful installments on Switch IMO more than paves the way for the whole Prime Trilogy to rest easy alongside Dread before all is said and done

This.. really is revolutionary for remasters. To see them take a title as beloved as Prime and perfect it even more, it blows most remasters and even some of the Switch ports out of the water. Seeing a game like Sonic Frontiers run at 30 fps on Switch with how gorgeous it looks and then seeing that same polish added to a remaster of a GameCube game in 60 fps, that's wild and absolutely extraordinary. I also find how fascinating that Nintendo practically kept this under super tight wraps, with people having only made rumors of a Prime remaster, but with no evidence to back that up. Now, Nintendo shadow-dropped us this on us, and with it looking so pristine as well! Nobody really had any idea that they were making a Prime remaster! This is fantastic, and I will definitely pick up the physical edition when it releases.

Can you stand on frozen enemies without sliding off like in the 1986 game?
Do you still need a late game ability for most of the 12 chozo artifacts?
Did they make bomb jumping any easier?
