    6:57 sweet!!! Lol! Yeah you don’t have to paint it but during the day people come it might not look as cool so doing a faux painting look nice for you for us that are viewing it during the daytime.

    great stuff Fireblock foam is orange, makes a better base, dry brush black paint on for better contrast when lit

      Mark Dohring I wanted to update you on the use of your method for foam coals. I did that for Halloween and it was a great success! I also used purple lights and foam for in the cauldron and it looked pretty cool! I hope you have a great end of the year and holidays!

    This one shows the orange lights better than most people who build this prop. you need to find a larger cauldron. there's a plastic one one size up. I got mine on sale at a Party store. the sticks are a nice addition tothe prop. Happy ToT!

    Looks good. I just put a sting of red lights on the lawn in a circular pile and put the cauldron on top. It looks like embers without all the work and expense and breathing in paint fumes in an enclosed room.

    I made it! It’s cool! I would add the foam did expand UP more after few hours. Shake the can well before you start! Have a long stick to push in the lights and make a small ice cream 🍦 cone to get them to stay out, not inward under the cauldron.

    2$3! I made mine, I covered the lights with plastic, then applied the foam. That way I was able to remove the foam and use the lights again.

      @@MarkDohring if your cauldron is water tight.. us an led ultrasonic fogger, cheap on ebay... creates light and fog drifting around inside. They have multi color models.

      20” across, but u can make it any size u want. I didn’t need to add sticks but I think it enhanced the look a little.

    a question i have is what if a bulb on the light strand goes out or a section of it? normally when its a section its just a fuse but if its a single or a couple of bulbs then would you have to break the foam to get to it or would it just not be a worry 🤔

      I used led lights and I’m not going to worry about it .. but haven’t had any burn out yet ... many hours of run time. I think u could cut out the foam and redo that section.

    Are the sticks and cauldron now mounted into the foam once it dries or can you take them off of the foam?

      They r there permanently. U could probably spray silicone on the cauldron before putting the spray foam on there and when it dries I should be able to remove it. The sticks could be placed on too after the spray foam hardens so they could be removed

      Hina.. thanks for watching the video.. it’s “Great Stuff Foam” it’s in the title and description ... maybe I use it so much that I think people know what this stuff is...lol.. u can usually get it at any hardware store.. I got mine at Lowes.. I got the big gap one because it gets harder.. the door and windows foam doesn’t harden that much... I will update the description with a link ... again thank u for watching

      It's basically a spray foam insulation meant for filling gaps and cracks around windows and other spaces in your home. You spray it into the crevice and it expands to fill the space. You can clean the spray tube with acetone if you don't use the whole container, otherwise the tube gets clogged and you can't use it.

      Adam, that was probably about 24" across, u can make it what ever size u want. If u want to make a really big one, just add more lights and more Great Stuff foam.

      If u mean the plywood yes ... u could even put it on a thick piece of cardboard and do the same thing. I did it on a piece of 3/4 “ plywood for the weight to keep it from blowing around on very windy days. Thanks for watching

      Sorry Phil but this idea and similar have been around since the existence of foam insulation and plastic cauldrons. The UA-camr likely got the idea from someone else too. I can assure you the idea was not invented in the last decade. As for me, I'm thankful and will be using a similar idea for my own Halloween party!
