I’d love to do this. I would want to see about drilling holes on the bottom and adding a smoke machine or dry ice in the cauldron
Were the sound effects (crickets etc.) added for youtube or for the display. If display where did you find such great sound effects?
Amazing 😻
Does it pop off the cardboard?
It doesn’t. I’m having the HARDEST time getting it off.
I did what someone posted earlier commented and covered the lights but I wrapped them. What I would do is take the plastic trash bag all the way to the edge so it’s easier to pop off.
That's not even the one you "made" at the end the textures gone on the pot and unless you added a lot of white that you didn't show us
This looks so cool! I want to make this. Do you have to leave the lights stick out of the foam or can you see the lights through the foam?
-Kirsten
Good question! It's interesting, because you want to somewhat cover the lights so you don't see them poking out and so it looks more realistic, but you also want to be able to have enough light coming from the fake fire. I went a little heavy handed on the spray foam because I didn't want to see the strings of the lights or the bulbs, but you can still see the orange light pretty well in the dark, as you can see in the video. Ultimately it's your choice how much foam to add, but I was surprised at how well I could still see the lights from all the foam I added.
Oh my goodness...that is SO SUPER COOL!! It turned out amazing. I pinned this idea for next Halloween
That is awesome, so glad you loved it! And thanks so much for pinning. 🧡
Sooooooo cool, great job!
Wow that’s super cool! I love how it lights up. I am going to make this and I am going to use flickering lights!!!
Great idea! In my blog post I shared that that is the one thing I would do differently- twinkling lights would look amazing!
The only thing I would do differently would be I would put plastic over the lights and then add my foam so I could change the lights. This is something I would be keeping for years. You could even make a little table top version.
Great idea! And I agree, a tabletop smaller version would be pretty great too.
My Grandaughters 8&10 (with supervision) made these yesterday. They felt like scientists wearing all the saftey gear for the spray insulation. Thank you. They came out great. I wish I could show you.
This looks completely awesome! But, many steps were skipped and detailed information is missing. Unfortunately, I've no way of following.
This is very innovative. Is the foam fire proof and won’t react to the lights?
As long as you use LED lights you are Ok bc LEDs don't produce heat :)
Probably the best cauldron fire I've seen on youtube!
Turned out amazing. Great job!
Thank you so much! 😀
Thanks for to video. Wife wants me to make one for her. This helps so much. Gonna hang the cauldron from a stand and make some witches to stand around so I don’t need it this big. Thanks again!
Great work

Making this next year for our spooky Halloween campout
Where did you get that owl prop and where did you get the fake bones?
Nice touch those bones 🖤💀🖤
What size cauldron did you use?
Inspiring
Thanks so much, I just love this cauldron and have used it many times!
Making this for our campsite ❤
Spooktacular!
That is amazing!
Thanks so much Sarah! I just LOVE how it turned out!
Do you need to use LED bulbs?
Yes, that way they don't create heat :)
