Vietnam's Venetian Village: Life in a Floating House 🇻🇳
Вставка

- ■ LAN HA BAY, VIETNAM: The coolest and by far the most unique place I have uncovered in Vietnam is the floating village community of Lan Ha Bay (next to Ha Long Bay). There are several of these but only one I've seen you can actually live in.
These are not tourist traps or set up for that purpose. The floating homes in these fishing villages have been there for 600 years and people live there even today. That is also what makes them so great as it gives foreigners and incredible opportunity to see how people live and thrive out in these coves.
Having only spent one night in this floating village upon my previous visit, I was eager to go back. This time however I was not going to make the mistake of only staying for one night.
I wanted to paddle a traditional plant woven boat. Hunt Gongo. Scale one of the mountain peaks and also get a closer look at the lives of the locals.
I decided 3 nights would be needed to accomplish said tasks.....

this is now my 2nd favorite video, after the Nepal hike you did with the woman you hiked up with!
Agreed :)
2160p60 wow he needs this camera every video ❤
So many favorites I have. This is up there with the best though.
Haraldo, Jeffaldo and a bowl of Bolognese..... nothing beats that!!
same, vietnam is awesome
Nice to see a UA-camr that has remained the same even after finding huge success...so many become divas, full of themselves. Harald remains the same man of the people
🙏🏻
❤❤❤
Heraldo!
10/10 commitment
I've been watching Harald for years and we can agree that he's 100% the same since the beginning.
It's amazing how i fall asleep on a 2 hours action movie, but i can watch Harald's 2 hours Videos with full excitement from beginning to end
you just watch him to spy out all the good gongo spots!
@fredjaeger so true 😎💪
Same here🙌😍
The woman in the couple kept saying you're very handsome very handsome, and then leaned against the door and smiled, which made me feel so adorable.
The Vietnam series as a whole has been great, this video in particular is spectacular content. I think these are the best videos you have done since the Nepal trips. The Vietnamese people seem so kind and genuine.
how nice and genuine the boatman.
indeed how beautiful and cozy there at the boathouse at night.
A gem 💎
He was so happy when he saw the beer. 😊 The man deserved it for being so kind to you.
So relaxing, watching this vlog. Always brings me comfort and happiness to watch Harald's journeys. The "deleted" scene was really lovely to see, very relaxing as well. These Vietnamese people are so lovely.
A sub of 5 years! 🙏🏻
@@HaraldBaldr Indeed and it will only increase from there 😀
I have been watching Harald for years and his is the only channel whose videos are as good now as they were when I started. Always always always keeps me engaged and interested. A true gift/talent. Not to mention every time he visits a country it almost always goes on my list of countries I want to visit. Thank you Harald. You are a true treasure.
You have a gift with people Harald. What a beautiful place. Thanks for all the effort to get the shot on top of Mt Northman. What you do is an art and not easy. Thank you sir.
in my eyes there are no "fail" videos from harald, everything he puts out i'm watching with joy!
Almost 2 hour video for lazy Sunday afternoon? I'll take it!❤
Whoever designed that floating home, much respect 👍 Lots of details went into making it awesome & beautiful.
We appreciate the honor of having you take us along on your journeys. No other channel shows travel like you. Thank you
I just got back from Vietnam after spending a week in the country. I was absolutely blown away with the hospitality and how genuine the people were there. One of my favorite places i've ever been to and I can't wait to go back.

They just want ur money fool ! Waking atm
Great to see more incredible video from our favourite youtuber! The best coverage of any vlogger on the web! Well done Harald!
You can’t unnotice the genuity of how those great people treat others more so a northman…language barrier it is but those smiles tell everything. Its humanity❤
Definitely one of the best and funniest videos so far .
Good work Haraldo .
Paddling around disrupting the whole village. I love it !
Vietnamese people, the most warm-hearted, happy and kind people in the world ❤❤❤
Love these videos. There hasn’t been a single video that has been posted that my wife and I don’t watch all the way through. Such gorgeous scenery.
What a good guy, rowing all that way to show you boots so you could be more comfortable on the shore...
This has to be one of the best Heraldo videos of all time. So real and authentic. Giving us a true insight into the lives of the Vietnamese people. Loving the longer and less edited video! Thank you for such great content!
This was not the best heraldo video because heraldo has sooooo much more epic video iam sorry didn't mean to hate
Actually you're wrong he doesn't show eating the food or how they actually learn to survive in those conditions. How do they make money how do they get water how did they get gas? All he's doing is floating around and buying stuff and giving stuff away.
I LOVE THESE LONGER VIDEOS!!!
Thank you for being you Harald
Phuc Baldr is truly spoling us with this Vietnam series. 🇻🇳
I love the 4K footage @60fps. So much easier on the eyes! Thank you!
The shot where you zoomed in on the reflection of your sunglasses to show how steep the rock wall is was brilliant. The close up shots of your footing really added to it as well. The 4K gives so much more depth and visual Bliss. Thank you for showing me these parts of the world. Keep it up man!
Just love Halong Bay. Only time I was there was 2000. Wish I could be there now. That lady in your film was a natural. I am sure you took good care of her.
Halong Bay is an excellent example of karst topography. It’s formed by the dissolution of limestone. The fabric of the rock that you climbed is called phytokarst, where dissolution is enhanced by organic acids from plants, algae, and fungi.
The notches that you see right at sea level (where the woman was harvesting little snails) are wrongly referred to as “wave-cut notches.” You can see that there’s no wave energy. The notches are formed by bioerosion, where snails, urchins, chitons, clams, etc are actually rasping away at the rocks to eat the algae that grows in that intertidal zone.
Vietnam is awesome. 🇻🇳
To what do ascribe the strange sound the rocks make when crashing together? Also they were way heavier than normal rocks I encounter in Himalayas or Europe. Is this normal for limestone?
The limestone rock “flakes” make a pleasant/strange ringing sound when banged together. Other rocks will do this, too. It’s just that the karsted limestones make that flaky form.
Limestone is made of the mineral calcite, which is relatively dense at 2.7 g/cm^3.
Btw, just got back from Norway (Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger, and Oslo). Holy shit it’s expensive. Beautiful, but now I have to sell rocks by the side of the road.
That's so interesting, thanks for sharing!!
The captions you put on the locals has me laughing so hard my stomach and cheeks hurt😅😂 it's the best thing ever when you do that!!!!!
I'm just meticulously translating the local's convos. Guess I'm lucky I always meet people talking about hilarious stuff
It took me a while to realise they aren't real 😂
@@fadlin5650 What are you trying to say? 🤔
@HaraldBaldr I thought you made them up. Too hilarious 😂
@@Fadlinification You thought wrong! They've always been 6862% accurate and I take great pride in that!
These Vietnam vlogs are the best ever! Keep them up 👍🏽💯🔥
Thanks
Heraldo knows what we need on a Sunday afternoon. Absolutely love the videos from Vietnam. ❤
Thank you for taking us on this amazing adventure! You're hands-down my favorite vlogger.
The Norwegian Crusader cruising round Vietnam blessing us with another Video! Gabriel high roller traveller mode in full effect, hang on am I commenting yes I am.
The type of content you create is very unique upon watching your videos. I find extreme joy and I see a great commitment behind establishing a UA-cam network. Good job,Harald
You make my hands sweat when you scale up those sharp rocks! I had to fast forward to when you landed in your boat and was so thankful you were safe! Thank you very much for going the EXTRA MILE to entertain us! We love you! ❤
Northman, you are an adventurer, not just a UA-camr. From climbing hills in Nepal to exploring Vietnam, you bring a unique perspective to UA-cam. Instead of simply chasing trends or showing off, you reveal new places and experiences for others to discover. Your journeys inspire viewers to explore beyond the ordinary, rather than just following the other sissy on the latest hot food trends.
This is the first time it got recommended so soon after the upload ✨
Your eyes were moved by the beauty of the islands at night. Great climbing performance Viking 💪 Much love from Finland
The texture of those rocks when you did the climb, looks so cool, jagged like dragon scales
I admire how raw, real and genuine you are Harald. You are one of a kind! Thank you for sharing all your adventures with us
another great vid harald thanks for sharing the place is so peaceful
What a lovely lady working on your floating boathouse. She had such great and boubly energy.
Harald you continue to entertain us everytime! , always pushing the content further.I love the new videos shot in the osmo in 4k compared to the sony and would love to see more of it but its understandable that the new camera is restrictive.
No one makes videos like Harald. This was a gift. This one might be one of, if not the best, videos I've ever seen. Thank you, Northman.
Thanks. Appreciate that 🙏
I love Vietnam its culture and people.thank you Harald for sharing your journey ❤

Love that place at Vietnam...wow 😍i hope can go to that place one day! Thank You for sharing and is great You always share with locals everywhere You go!! That's a natural blessing! 👏👍🙏🌹
Really happy you were able to extend your stay around there. The regret of not having more time there was evident from the way you spoke in the last video. Glad it worked out!!!
The translations are always hilarious! This has to be some of my favorite though 52:37
Wow you’re the most famous guest in my floating house 😄 What a pleasure 🙏🏽
I can totally relate to that guys happiness when you gave him that bag of beers.
What a blessed people the Vietnamese so many beautiful places and natural resources ❤ from Nagaland.
Man, scaling the rocky mountain holding a camera without any safety gear. Northman has balls of steel.
IT WAS STUPID..........
@@hikeyt2747 Not safe, not even someone to check up on him, I was like - what is this Heraldo doing, please God keep him safe. Honestly. BTW nice Northman that you are sensible about meeting people with some small gifts, and sharing, to break the ice. I like that partial FPV camera shots, companionship, showing everyday places, interactions, authenticity etc. Happy and safe journeys.
Only he managed to upload the video so he was OK. But I was really worried still watching that ...
I was so nervous for him.
Very stupid!!
I'm really enjoying these so much. I check every night way better than normal tv.. each night, Harald and a few whiskeys. You tube and chill
Glad you went back Harald. What a place I could watch this content all day. Stay safe & good content again👍

Best UA-cam channel!
when I watched on my phone, I couldn't read the captions.. but when I watched in full screen, I found the captions are comedy gold! Great job!
Vietnam vídeos are mucho approval..
When I traveled to Vietnam as an American I was very surprised how nice and wonderful the people treated me. I couldn’t understand it with the things we did in the Vietnam War. Wonderful hospitality and people!
What an experience.
Thanks for taking us along, Harald!
Having the 4k camera is making such a difference to my viewing enjoyment..it's seamless and fluid... I'm glad your doing long lengthy shots so we can live the serenity of it all through your lens..
It's really nice to see that you're still the same as you used to be and not taken off because you've found great success.
Love the Vietnam vlogs , keep them coming! Beautiful place , great people, and the great Haraldo!
Life in that village seems so nice. Fish in the morning and karaoke at night
Harald, once again you've done a masterpiece video. Relaxing, funny and i feel like i'm almost there with you. Doing a trip like this with you and living this like you do must be awsome! Drinking a cold Saigon with that views, what a dream!
