I saw ur post online in Facebook bro, I didn't even know that was you. I'm glad u got the issue resolved, I have never been in that situation yet...so it's good to know u made a video of it. Thank u.
In my day we put on an Edlebrock intake manifold, Holly 4 barrel carb, headers with dual cherry bomb mufflers and pipes out the side under each door. Never broke down.
Wish I could give you more thumbs up man. This literally just happened to me an I remember watching this video a couple weeks back an you helped me get my car back running.
I had the same issue with updating my flaspro version and firmware but i deleted my tune and dont have it saved to my computer. Now anytime i try to upload a tune from my desktop it tells me "current vehicle is unknown"
As a computer guy. Never leave home without all your tools. You should have taken your laptop WITH your power cord to it and had it there as a just in case. Never trust electronics or machines. John Connor rule lol.
Mines coming today thanks for the extra info good to know that kinda stuff all tho it is kinda common sense but we all forget especially when we are not home snuff busy and trying to do stuff on the fly. I know I would probably do something like this but most of I time I'm pretty good with keeping most of my software stuff up to date but the reupploding of your maps is a nice bit of info Haha
Stringsoftears flashpro is not the greatest thing out there , it does the job. But yeah it's my fault for not checking it closely and covering my ass, but in my opinion the software should not even allow this to happen.
osamabinpawning123 it's pretty easy to use, just gotta make sure everything is up to date, drive around and follow vits instructions and you should be good!!
im an old school guy. from the 80s. And i cant do math to save my life. I was always in remedial math. But i am able to use this w/o a prob. 20 hp. Not bad.
Well, even though the version is not equal. l believed it will still load the latest calibration IF YOU ARE USING THE LAPTOP AT THAT TIME instead of just the standalone flashpro device? It happened to me, my flashpro manager was not equal to my calibration and still download to my ecu. I'm using my laptop all the time ping this.
Fuel pump went in the car, and now I got TPMS light, Power steering light. Hondata connects and gets check mark for everything except ECU with the ignition on. Any help? (I am waiting on the fuel pump to arrive but i wanted to check the check engine light code to make sure thats what popped, no the fuel pump does not prime and I have looked at fuses all good)
Hey! Im also in new york and I have a question about passing inspection. So we have yearly emissions testing and you were saying that the readiness monitors with the new tunes arent set, so what can I do? I am going to be installing a PRL Cold Air Intake and a Full Race CATTED Downpipe. Should i use a defouler and ask vit to keep the secondary 02 sensor on? Or should I just enable the sensor when its time and drive around to set all the monitors? With that method, im afraid of getting a cel. Your input is appreciated. Thank you!
thanks for the heads up just picked up a flash pro. When you say "brick" the ECU, it doesn't actually ruin the ECU correct (it took your tune off and left it blank?). Cheers
Because it wasn't bricked... Bricked means you have to buy a new ECU. You said it yourself, it has no map, but an ECU with no map is worth significantly more than a brick is it not? And people are a lot more likely to click on "Flashpro bricked my ECU" than "oh no I had to reflash because I did something incorrectly"
Nick Meyer sorry I'll change the title just for you .... lmao . No one else seems to be complaining , I gave out a lot of good knowledge in this video , your the first one to say something negative about me trying to help other people out
I went into Vits final tune for my 2013 Si and clicked the box to enable the secondary catalyst and i was able to pass inspection here in Texas. Otherwise I had the same problem you had. Have you tried this simple fix?
Hello happened to me an my car still dont run so I need a new ecu u is my understanding hope you can help me out I'm lost but this happened to me the same way so I needa new ecu
im due for a inspection in a month and not all my moniters are setting (cat obviously and evap) i want your opinion im running headers, cai, catback, rdx injectors, catless
I notice you have a k-tuner sticker.. Flash pro also?? I heard k tuner easier to use.. I have a 15 accord coupe v6, and am looking for mods that work..
NAUS oh I see.. I'm new to Honda, and I love my but iv never owned anything that I left stock.. Pretty pathetic I'm almost 40 now and I still drive like an asshole..
yeah this part kinda sucks, map based tunes will never ready the catalyst so Everytime it's emissions month I put my stock injectors back on with the stock intake and put the ecu back to stock untill the codes ready then reverted back. still beats taking off the whole blower and what not.
this is not true, before 2012ish hondata calibrations were "race" calibrations and map based, the oil life was always 100 and all readiness monitors are set the second the tune is flashed to the car , newer style calibrations are "Hybrid" map cals and oil life works normal, but readiness monitors never set. luckily I have an old basemap race style cal from the guy I bought the blower from. its for a CTE stage 2 uncooled kit but with my same injectors , so the car starts and runs, but runs like Shit, just enough for me to pass inspection
Will this work when you have to pass emissions in California? If I flash back to my stock base map before going to get it smoged will it pass? My car is just stock with a better tune on it.
I’m thinking bout getting it but I have a quick release steering wheel. I’ve seen people change the rpm limit and other things with the stock steering wheel will that affect me ? Or I can change it on the computer without using the steering wheel!!
Your gauge pod sits more flush then mine on your dash lol! did you get it from Xlr8? I run a highflowcat and will have to do emissions next year on my SC civic i think.. Im using hondata as well but have had the same tune for a year now since its been dyno tuned.. do I need to update my hondata firmware
Steven Acevedo yes in flashpro manager you can turn off your secondary O2 sensor , the car will never know it's not running a cat because there is no feedback from the secondary o2
flashpro has been around for about 10 years man. It can be used to tune any civic 06+, does not matter if the car has a turbo or not. This car has a supercharger
got a question my si has a bad idle after I got the headgasket done but not its not idling like it should be and the the idle dips from 950 - 650 then back to normal but it doe it randomly. The car is tuned and everything what could it be?
h22sparkle could be your throttle body calibration got thrown off or you have a vacuum leak. datalog and contact your tuner, he should know what's going on
@naus oh wow, hey would you like to send me a copy of that map by any chance? it would save me the headache of having to convert back to a maf and switching my injectors and pulley just so I can convert to stock ecu untill the codes ready.
Yeah bro np I can send it to you. should work as long as u have 1000ccc injectors. I'm in CO right now till next week but I'll send it when I get back to NY, what's your email?
hey! im having the problem right now where the evap and catalyst monitor wont set, can i use any old tune i have from vit say from 1 year ago? or do i use a base map that fp provides? help a fellow FA5 guy out? thanks!
yes the newer tunes from vit are the hybrid style cals and the readiness monitors will never set, 1 year old may not be enough, you need a older style race cal which was back in like 2012, some of the basemaps on FP manager may still be race cals, Im not sure exactly. I know there are a few basemaps you can download from flashprotuning dot com. just need to make an account. There are race cals on that site I have used before when I was all motor
flashpro has race calibrations that are basemaps but all of them are MAP based, not sure if thats what im looking for. i do have mucters stock tune from flashprotuning before they took the site down and it is AFM based. (afm enabled instead of map speed/density tables). will that tune do?
I tried a new gas cap for a while, no luck. The shop has been thrown for a loop with my car... they can't figure it out lol. I've been upfront with them too telling them that its tuned and why. They are gonna give it another shot after the 4th.
Micah Metcalf if it's not the tune they may have to do what's called a smoke test Thru the gas system.. The tiniest friggin microscopic hole can cause that code.. Hope they find the issue brotha..
Micah Metcalf good luck to ya bro.. If they can't find you can try what I did to get it to pass inspection.. Clear the code and then drive it a few 100 miles and don't let the fuel level get below 3/4 of a tank.. Worked for me 3 years in a row!!
I would greatly appreciate that, thank you. I will send you a private message through 8thcivic with my email address, I don't want to post my email here in public.
You saved my life. I was stuck at work and thought I broke my car. 4 years later and u helping people. Respects 🙏🏻
I saw ur post online in Facebook bro, I didn't even know that was you. I'm glad u got the issue resolved, I have never been in that situation yet...so it's good to know u made a video of it. Thank u.
thanks man !
so glad I live in FL dont have to deal with that shit
you left yourself stranded not the flashpro lol
He said that
a tip : watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Bradley Nelson Yup, been using flixzone} for since november myself :D
@Bradley Nelson Yup, have been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself =)
@Bradley Nelson Definitely, have been watching on Flixzone} for since november myself =)
In my day we put on an Edlebrock intake manifold, Holly 4 barrel carb, headers with dual cherry bomb mufflers and pipes out the side under each door. Never broke down.
always use your laptop when it comes down to the tune from here on in.
Wish I could give you more thumbs up man. This literally just happened to me an I remember watching this video a couple weeks back an you helped me get my car back running.
hell yeah glad I could help man !!!
You're from New york!!!!! Me too. I had a bitch of a time getting my modded v6 6 speed accord passed too. I feel your pain every year
its funny cause this same thing almost happened to me!! keep them videos coming bro, your doing an awesome job!!
appreciate it bro!!!!
Glad you got it sorted man, and solid info for sure.
I had the same issue with updating my flaspro version and firmware but i deleted my tune and dont have it saved to my computer. Now anytime i try to upload a tune from my desktop it tells me "current vehicle is unknown"

That Hondata programmer looks like its from the 80s. They need to make something similar to SCT, COBB, DIABLO, SUPERCHIPS handheld tuners.
JIMBO SLICE they are for the type r and the new si
Hey buddy sounds like it’s happing to me I’m not my FK8 I’m going to try it out tomorrow and hopefully fix’s my issue
I did not know you could have 2 maps on FP.. Thanks!
This is dope. Good to know get Hondata Flash Pro A.S.A.P.
I have the same exact setup as yours except for I have a megapower header and a Rick specs 3.5 intake.
Nice four door bro
So basically software version must match firmware version.
Thanks for sharing this. Great info.. 😁👍
now this, this is good info. liked and subscribed good sir.
4:22 you say you were the one at fault yet your video description puts Flashpro, a device you heavily rely on still, in a negative light.
Stringsoftears flashpro is not the greatest thing out there , it does the job. But yeah it's my fault for not checking it closely and covering my ass, but in my opinion the software should not even allow this to happen.
I want to get a hondata Flashpro but it seems hard to use
same haha
osamabinpawning123 it's pretty easy to use, just gotta make sure everything is up to date, drive around and follow vits instructions and you should be good!!
osamabinpawning123
Want to get one also but going to have a professional tuner shop to tune it .
im an old school guy. from the 80s. And i cant do math to save my life. I was always in remedial math. But i am able to use this w/o a prob. 20 hp. Not bad.
osamabinpawning123 if you can create a Gmail account you can do this.
Nice setup!

robscaglioneproductions correct, it didn't ruin the ECU, but I've heard it can. in my case it just left it in a useless state
So that makes your video title what? A lie? clickbait?
What? how is it clickbait...The Flashpro did leave me stranded and the ECU was left in a useless state without a laptop handy...
Because it wasn't bricked... Bricked means you have to buy a new ECU. You said it yourself, it has no map, but an ECU with no map is worth significantly more than a brick is it not? Not sure why it won't ready the cat. My s2 has no cat with the light off and my readiness has shown as ready in Texas.
I notice you have a k-tuner sticker.. Flash pro also?? I heard k tuner easier to use.. I have a 15 accord coupe v6, and am looking for mods that work..
m turley k tuned and k tuner are completely different companies in pretty sure
NAUS oh I see.. I'm new to Honda, and I love my but iv never owned anything that I left stock.. Pretty pathetic I'm almost 40 now and I still drive like an asshole..
Hey man how do I get in touch with you? got some questions about flashpro and passing NYS inspection. Thanks
yeah this part kinda sucks, map based tunes will never ready the catalyst so Everytime it's emissions month I put my stock injectors back on with the stock intake and put the ecu back to stock untill the codes ready then reverted back. still beats taking off the whole blower and what not.

Same thing happened to me but good thing I was only in my driveway but it scared me shitless because I though I had fried my ECU.
Will this work when you have to pass emissions in California? If I flash back to my stock base map before going to get it smoged will it pass? My car is just stock with a better tune on it.
Good info here to remember
Thanks for posting this very informative vid man!
Problem #1, you live in NY. Entire North East states are TAX HELL HOLE. NO fucking way would I ever move back up there. Fück that.
Did it completely kill your ecu(buying a new one) or did revising the flash pro fix the issue with the bricked ecu?
Revising the flash pro fixed it.
How would u reset it to factory map/tune without computer? Temporary fix to get it home?
This video is going back a long ways, but i believe there was no way to reset it back to OEM ecu without the laptop in this situation.
Where did you get those gages on the dash like that plastic
Xlr8 gauge pod
I’m thinking bout getting it but I have a quick release steering wheel. I’ve seen people change the rpm limit and other things with the stock steering wheel will that affect me ? Or I can change it on the computer without using the steering wheel!!
You can set the default values on the computer
Is that a Vitt tuning display?
Yes it sure is
@@NAUS2K I've been looking for it could I get a copy?
@@NAUS2K the old links I've found are all dead
Your gauge pod sits more flush then mine on your dash lol! did you get it from Xlr8? I run a highflowcat and will have to do emissions next year on my SC civic i think.. Im using hondata as well but have had the same tune for a year now since its been dyno tuned.. do I need to update my hondata firmware
yes I am running the xlr8 gauge pod
Your sits much more flush! I just updated my flashpro 10mins ago thanks!
Civic lsx 😂😂😂 nice fa5 tho bro you put some cash in that thing
Lol damn i feel your pain
Soooo how did you fix it?
I just bought a 17 si coupe, when hondata launch one i would like to get it just for the turbo late +extra boost, but would it void the warranty?
Scott Smith I read somewhere that, if it burns out the turbo right away, something like 60,000 miles, then yeah, it’ll void that.
so you do not have a catalyst converter and the flashpro fake that it had it?
Steven Acevedo yes in flashpro manager you can turn off your secondary O2 sensor , the car will never know it's not running a cat because there is no feedback from the secondary o2
That's awesome I didn't know that thanks for the help. One last question. So do you personally have to do it or whoever tune it can do it?
Steven Acevedo it should be integrated into your tune, aka if your tuner knows what he's doing and he knows your catless, he will disable it
Thanks I appreciate everything
You happen to still have that calibration? I private messaged you on 8th gen.
TheTechwiz99 I'll check out my 8th account tonight , I haven't logged on in forever
NAUS thanks man got my CT kit coming soon. Thanks for all the content been very helpful.
Coool video
I thought the flash pro was only for turbo edition Honda cars.
flashpro has been around for about 10 years man. It can be used to tune any civic 06+, does not matter if the car has a turbo or not. This car has a supercharger
NAUS dang I could've been upgrading my cars performance.
We're do u get that Honda's at I want one
got a question my si has a bad idle after I got the headgasket done but not its not idling like it should be and the the idle dips from 950 - 650 then back to normal but it doe it randomly. The car is tuned and everything what could it be?
h22sparkle could be your throttle body calibration got thrown off or you have a vacuum leak. datalog and contact your tuner, he should know what's going on
Soo moral of the story is just keep your flashpro and tunes updated lol.
So will i pass inspection with a basemap and a intake? Just a basemap from flashpro
Papo cruz why wouldn't you?
Did you leave the door open lol ?
no , that has nothing to do with it , u can open doors play with your Windows and radio too when flashing tunes
If I only use a flashpro (nothing else) can I still pass inspection?
Good question, wish someone would of answered it.
hey! im having the problem right now where the evap and catalyst monitor wont set, can i use any old tune i have from vit say from 1 year ago? or do i use a base map that fp provides? help a fellow FA5 guy out? thanks!

I know there are a few basemaps you can download from flashprotuning dot com. just need to make an account. There are race cals on that site I have used before when I was all motor
+NAUS flashpro tuning is gone forever :( they took the site down. I think I downloaded mucters stock tune though from them.
flashpro has race calibrations that are basemaps but all of them are MAP based, not sure if thats what im looking for.
i do have mucters stock tune from flashprotuning before they took the site down and it is AFM based. (afm enabled instead of map speed/density tables). will that tune do?
The MAP based race cals i use to use back in 2012 all passed inspection
did it pass with the supercharger on the engine??
Yes i have passed 4 years in a row with the supercharger on the car.
In order to get a hondata do I need to get an a exhasut system and a intake system to get a hondata install ?
Nah u can run a tune while stock it just makes it run better and makes the car feel more alive
Having the same issue here in ny. Cat will not set. Is there anyway around this?
your running a hybrid cal. They will never set readiness monitors. You
need to flash an older style Race Cal which will set all readiness
monitors.
How do i get a older style base map?
Mario Renta
some of the base calibrations are in FP, do you have a 8th or 9th gen?
8th gen si
Mario Renta
what are your mods? If your still on stock injectors i have a race cal i can send you for inspection, just lmk your email ill send it over
Is the CT super easy to install?
Your videos and Tong man's videos are short, simple, and informative. Like them.
ECU bricked? More like PEBKAC.
Zimtron it's a code ID 10 T
Messing with the ecu on a car is never a good idea. Gets too complicated.
Smart Feller Nah, it's actually quite easy, I just overlooked a key detail
Hondata nodata.. go with ktuner, it’s better and more power
My car has been throwing "EVAP LEAK" codes for 6 months now and the dealership has not been able to figure it out. Would my tune be causing this?
Micah Metcalf maybe your gas cap.. I had the same code..
They have done multiple smoke tests! I am hoping that they are just missing a hole somewhere! Thanks!
Micah Metcalf good luck to ya bro.. If they can't find you can try what I did to get it to pass inspection.. Clear the code and then drive it a few 100 miles and don't let the fuel level get below 3/4 of a tank.. Worked for me 3 years in a row!!
misleading title
I'm on 8thcivic btw
I would greatly appreciate that, thank you. I will send you a private message through 8thcivic with my email address, I don't want to post my email here in public.
no doubt , my username on 8thcivic is naustine
damn
A lot of fucking talking!!
The Meneses would you like me to write the information on paper next time and record the paper ?
you have instagram? I have a video, I’m trying to see if it’s what’s happening to me
