Hendy Iron Works mill from San Francisco means it's pre 1906. They moved to Sunnyvale after the 1906 earthquake. The factory is a historical landmark now. Northrop Grumman owned it after Hendy. There's a park next to the factory with a Hendy stamp mill. Another great artifact filled explore! Keep up the good work!
You always find such interesting places to explore. This one was quite an operation at one time that has seen better days. And, you are quite knowledgeable about different types of equipment. Great to have your buddy Austin along. Thanks for sharing and safe travels.
Pretty cool little crusher plant and set up with all that old stuff mixed in with more modernish electrical. Must be a bit of a hike as it's still pretty much like it was left behind back when they walked out. I like how you can find these out of the way places and that you share them with us! Keep going!
Another great find. It's either hard to get to or on private property or most of that stuff would of been taken by now. Wonder how much good stuff is underground?
I checked out your videos posted before to see just what you are about. You are young, involved in some other kind of work, and enjoy hiking and fresh air. Not sure but maybe you would enjoy camping, doing some fishing in any stream out in the woods. All that said, not to offend in any manner is just trying to understand the reasons for going out to see what equipment and other is still left around these mines. My mining experience starts in mid fifties in a gold mine up in washington state. I went on pack horses to gold mines when gold was still thirty two dollars a ounce. I tried hard to pan gold and no one there to teach me how as they (older men and women) worked in those claims. I never stopped enjoying the finding of gold and stories involved it these processes of getting gold out of the ground but over time, inevitable you pick up the way to find gold and other minerals. What I seen in your video of this video particular is places where it got too difficult to keep going for gold there but this equipment although expensive to repair is quite valuable to a person who knows how to repair it and get going again. That equipment was not cheap when purchased nor was it not able to keep going.... the mine got too expensive to keep it going when wages were so high and values were not equal in return. I if a young man would enjoy putting most of it back together and using it again. I am seventy five with a ton of history in mining as a mechanic/fabricator and jack of most trades when it comes to using your hands to do repairs or build new. I am so angry about how I hurt myself in helping others and then break my back and neck to the point of crippling me for life. Those shaker tables and motors that run them are most likely able to be cleaned, lubed and then returned to service. I sound stupid to most as I make excuses to why I never got far in life. Truth is that I was a young man who had problems with alcohol, no guidance from people who did care as I was so angry. I was feeling sorry for myself and running like a coward when if I had just said hey... the lady I picked broke my heart, and so turned into a full blown drunk. I quit drinking on 11/16/96. I just quit one day when something found me. Two very lonely scared to death dogs .. just puppies about six months old. We rescued each other and this friendship was the first time I felt important and had reason to want to keep going. Bottom line, I am boring you to death with a story of a failure to grow up. I never wished for a drink once I had purpose. NO A.A. or other programs although I did do a few and its all about purpose.... feeling wanted. No matter what kind of work or other things in life, its choices about feeling good about yourself and doing the right thing. I am not a deeply religious man. I did have a NDE which is scary as heck. I am convinced there is a higher power/God and yet do not push it, just believe. I hope you keep doing this as its interesting fun and someway or another maybe its going to have some kind of impact on your life later or help someone else to find a purpose

Excellent find and tour!!
A small unimportant aside: Sure you meant the "cable would have gone . . . ", not the "cable would had went . . . "

That light is not made of porcelain.
Those shades are considered porcelain. They are steel or galvanized steel that are dipped in porcelain.
