Another great video. Cabin #1 looked like it had a homemade wood stove made from an oil barrel. Cabin #2 was great. Thank you for showing all the interesting artifacts. And, it was so nice to finally see a Joshua tree. Being from the northeast, it was a real treat. So glad you didn't go down that ladder. Always looking forward to the next video. Thanks for all you do and happy holidays. Be safe.
Hey there Buddy, Thank you for all of the hard work and hours of time you put it to bring us your awesome exploration videos. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Regards from Ody Slim
Those shacks are surprisingly well-decorated and maintained. It seems like someone went through some effort to update it while keeping the rustic feeling. That fire extinguisher can't be too old. Minus the rusty spring bed, and with the addition of a bunk to use a mattress pad on, it would be comfortable to stay in, so long as you don't mind Hantavirus.
Great vid! And congratulations on the new truck. There’s someone that puts a great deal of love into that second cabin and a wonderful place that is. Merry Christmas! 👍🏻🎄
Damn, missed you again lol. Was just there after Thanksgiving. Went down that winze and there are two little drifts that run off that shaft about 25ftdown, each ways about 10 to 15 feet. Then it is just a pit maybe like 20feet below that level. Cool place though You drive around the corner to the quarts mine. Some epic colors over there
Good to see some cabins/huts being maintained and cared for and also open as too many are vandalized or just left to be trashed. I have seen too many trashed huts/cabins in my 65 years.
Happy New Year! I haven't forgotten about you since I moved to Japan. I love seeing all the mines from California. I sure miss all the exploring my son's and I did in the Mojave. Did you ever get into the Navy?
Not to be rude but do I know you?! Yess I’ve been in the Navy dang close to 4 years now! It’s been a ride for sure, just glad I can still get out even with my duties. And Happy New Years! Thanks for the comment
I was in San Diego back when Joshua Tree had it's earth quake back in the late 90's early 2000's. Still remember how the building I was in started twisting back and forth. (no damage)
Ha, auto generate captions says your a 'Weston mind detective' - new career? get those business cards made up ! 😂 Also merry xmas love the vids, escapism from a dreary and wet Yorkshire in the UK so see some outdoor adventure while stuck indoors here at the moment
Everyone is doing these two cabins lately. The mice were pretty bad at the second one when I was there in May. Looked clean, didn't see any, until it got dark. After the 7th or 8th one I slept outside. The first cabin is usually visited by peak baggers headed to the high point near it.
Thank you. My brother lives in Yucca Valley and knows where all the hidden tanks and ruins throughout JoshuaTree Monument and beyond Morongo Valley were the old Western movies and tv shows were made from fifties and the sixties.
Really enjoy these outings, amazing sites and views 🙂 What type and make camera did you use for recording outdoor? Maybe it is me but there are some strange compression artefacts that mess with the sky and the countryside, could well be on my end but I don’t notice them elsewhere? Cool truck too!
For comparison, here is another of your videos in a similar setting: m.ua-cam.com/video/dh1tQPY9dBY/v-deo.html There are far less compression artefacts than in the video above, even though the resolution seems lower. Could also be a mismatch between the memory media and the cameras capabilities. Your content is recorded in an incredibly beautiful landscape and I‘m pretty sure others would also chip in and help you out if you want to upgrade your camera gear 😊
I mean, hantavirus ain’t no joke sure it’s not too common to contract but those side effects aren’t worth sleeping one night in a cabin. I’ve had my fair share of cabin cowboy camping I’m good on it
@@WesternMineDetectiveIs Huanta virus still even around? I thought it was only an issue from mouse turds from the 70's, ie. if the place hadn't been cleaned in the last 40 years. Don't know for sure though
I had to back up and double check, thought I saw someone and was correct, there was a man up the hill watching every move you made. Did he ever make contact with you.
And all I can say to you good sir is I’ve been in literally hundreds and I’ve yet to perish, yes maybe I’m lucky but I sure as hell know my way around em.
Thanks again, it wouldn’t be right not to express our appreciation. Merry Christmas to you and all your people.

I'm just a mid 40's Ahole from the Midwest and I just want to thank you for what you do here on UA-cam and most of all Thank you for your service.
WHAT does he do?😂
That cabin was a very cool find. I love that people care about it. Good job today!
really great to see the Joshua trees thriving in these parts, a real survivor
wishing you a great Christmas, much love and stay safe
That cabin was awesome. Thanks for the great content.

I've had the honor of staying at those places! Good times!

😂😂😂
Minnesota here, so very love all of that area - 29 palms, big wind farm, awesome geology, epic sunsets up in high areas

Great vid! And congratulations on the new truck. There’s someone that puts a great deal of love into that second cabin and a wonderful place that is.
Merry Christmas! 👍🏻🎄
The place looks like heaven on earth. Such a surreal feeling radiating from the video.
At first I thought I had seen this cabin in another video but after you open the door no I have never seen this one before pretty cool thanks
All your videos are real good!!
Keep up the good exploring so I can continue to vegetate on UA-cam supporting you
Yay, a new WMD video for a Chritmas present! You go to the most beautiful places Jerith. Thank you for another awesome video! Merry Christmas ❤
Good choice on the truck! Wont have to give much thought to being stranded in that thing! Thanks for another entertaining video!

Beautiful scenery, the cabin's are amazing, please let us know which books you read, and if they where interesting, cheers, ❤
Awesome scenery and cabins Especially that 2nd one. Glad there was a bit of mine exploring with this adventure 👍🏼 .
Really glad I found your channel, I’ll be back to watch more.
Nice "Taco". They're both fun and reliable to drive. Another great adventure! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Yes it’s an amazing rig just went out for Christmas
Thanks for showing good sense! Very cool place!
What a beautiful landscape.
THANK YOU..MERRY CHRISTMAS..BEST WISHES..
Thank you for the content - great cabins too.
Another neat explore in a desert mine, thanks for the adventure
great find, thanks for taking me along.
Real cool video... Enjoyed it.
Good to see some cabins/huts being maintained and cared for and also open as too many are vandalized or just left to be trashed. I have seen too many trashed huts/cabins in my 65 years.
the only reason they ain't trashed as well is that they are in the desert. Middle of NOWHERE. People do not go out there.
Thanks for the great explore ..
Yes, I enjoyed every minute of this video!
Can you imagine the amount of time and labor that went into digging those holes in the ground? Talk about a hard life.
Tough as nails for sure
Tough as nails...for sure
Awesome video.❤
Gotta come back and see what's don the whinze!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Nice truck Pretty cool adventure Happy Holidays
That hantavirus warning 😬
Great video, my man.
Those Cabins are pretty cool
Great video 😊
I love this area good to see the cabin is maintained. Some cool pictures inside looks like the rattlesnake is still hanging.
Merry Christmas to all

If possible to message me the location, i live near the park and always looking for new areas to explore in the desert area 😅
Cool explore dude!

Cool truck too!
21:28 to me it looks like there used to be a stope there where that stall is level with the adit today and filled in with waste from the winze?
For comparison, here is another of your videos in a similar setting: m.ua-cam.com/video/dh1tQPY9dBY/v-deo.html

Very cool!
Thank you! happy New Years!
Great Video! Do you know what they were mining? Green is usually copper, right?
Yes the greens and blues are indicative of copper minerals most of the ones seen here were malachite and chrysocolla
Sick truck. Enjoy!
great video - thanks!
He absolutely wears Hanes boxer briefs 💪🏻💪🏻
Not sure if that be a compliment but I sure do 👊
@ it is, my guy! 🙌🏻
@ you wear em for comfort or because you need them cause you’re hung?
I'm surprised that you haven't Face Planted Wonder Hussy in a remote cabin !
WMD…squeezing thru like few others will do…❤it brother!
seems chill, i like the lantern. would be cool to shoot a wild west film. would not want to get marooned there.
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
What happened to the YJ?
Thanks for your service.
Still got the Jeep! For now at least planning to sell it. And thanks for the support. Happy New years to you and yours.
Great video! Not staying 3the Cabin because of Huanta virus fears seems silly to me.
I mean, hantavirus ain’t no joke sure it’s not too common to contract but those side effects aren’t worth sleeping one night in a cabin. I’ve had my fair share of cabin cowboy camping I’m good on it

That is nuts!
Cool cabins. What did you have for dinner?
I had Mountain house freeze dried meals, beef stew and biscuits and gravy
@@WesternMineDetective Good choice.. I love those meals. I used to do what you do now...that is why I asked. Great vids.
Hey buddy. Cool video. Where is this at?
12:09 does that say "black metal saloon" cause that's awesome
I'm guessing that Daisy BB rifle is for mouse mitigation.
Real nice cabins, can you stay in them ? Just curious
Cool mine explore
Merry Christmas to all!!
hahah why did he crawl in the collapsed mine, looking for a rattlesnake den?
Good choice taco lover!
Tacomas are so reliable
Out in remote desert locals!
I had to back up and double check, thought I saw someone and was correct, there was a man up the hill watching every move you made. Did he ever make contact with you.
you got a timestamp?
How new is the battery? Dead battery’s out in the boondocks sucks. St.Paul.Minnesota.
Oh that’s the first thing I changed on it! It had an Optima gel battery from 2012 so figured it was time for a new one 😉
well done
Not gonna lie , the first minute and a half of the video look like a video game !!!!
Son, all I can say is: You my friend are a "danged fool" for going inside those old mines!
And all I can say to you good sir is I’ve been in literally hundreds and I’ve yet to perish, yes maybe I’m lucky but I sure as hell know my way around em.
How do you get to these cabins? I’ll be there in Joshua Tree for a couple days in about a week
This isn’t in JTNP.. there’s Joshua trees in many places in Cali
Where are the tweakers at?
Is it wise to cave explore by yourself?
❤ have a good day 😘 happy New Year 2025@California
Happy New Years! Thank you 🙏
Have you ever had a section of mine colapes, making it hard \for you to get out, you seem to really know your stuff, be safe
The 0 I on the medicine bottle probably stood for Owens-Illinois glass co.
Most definitely! The most prominent of glass makers from around the late 1920s to the 1950s
merry Christmas wmd
Imagine finding a valuable deposit of gold while you stay in that first rustic shack, dreaming of what the riches would buy you.
So it would be safe to say you are in Joshua Tree Ntl. Forest. Watch out for holes that got straight down for hundreds of feet.
Far from it good guess though. There’s Joshua Trees in many more places than JTNP. I’d suggest better research
joshua tree is haunted... yr brave going into all those caves...
KOOL TRIP" NEWSUB IN IDAHO!
The Dominican mamajauana is random
the lighting and color is super weird on this video. its like its computer generated
