This channel is so underrated in the indian modelling community. The instructor shows some seriously complex methods of modelling which is very necessary for ppl who are starting to learn modelling and its fundamentals. Thank you so much for taking your time and making these videos, you've been a big help.
Figuring out the trigger and grip texturing has always been a pain, and there aren't really any good tutorials on it specifically. This was a great watch! Thank you!
Hey bro just finished the tutorial I just wanna say thanks for the great and well detailed tutorial. Its my first time using blender and the Glock 17 is actually really looking good for my first time, thanks to your great tutorial and also giving me some knowledge about the vertices, loop cuts, basic controls, merging, modifiers, bevel tool, extrude etc.I learnt alot thanks to you.
Thanks for your video. But I have a question. Why when I use Knife tool (Cut) 5:34, it cuts only one side? Back side remains unchanged while I'm doing the same.
@@babayaga-br7en i think its depends on you maya have some good or bad things also in blender, skills make man perfect just do practice and practice 👍⭐
Hello! I had the same problem. If you delete the faces on the back before you bevel, it will create the creases you are seeing because you are missing some supporting geometry. So try to bevel before deleting the faces and it should work. (I'm new to blender so please correct me if I am wrong)
This is awesome! Any chance you can make a video on how to model a glock 17 with a lower triangle count that still looks good for say a video game prop?
@@dimension3d889 that would be awesome! Thanks. I have been practicing hard surface modeling for about a year and I still get hung up on how to model handgun frames without using subd. It is very challenging
hey so when at 1:18 you said match it with the difference or something like that. now I don't know how to do that i pressed the keys you did and my cylinder doesn't align with my cube
When working with the trigger, adding the subdivision modifier caused the sharper corners to become completely rounded like an archway between the 2 trigger pieces. I'm not sure whats causing that, any ideas?
@dimension3d889 I did apply the bevel to the edges and it created a distorted smooth arch. I'm pretty new to blender so I'm sure messed something up along the way
Hey hope your still replying to comments. Im stuck on the part where you bevel the edges from when you delete the faces. It doesn allow me to bevel it. Do you know why this is?
@@dimension3d889thanks it’s around 4:35 It only lets me bevel but it makes it into a square diamond sort of shape and doesnt let me do it on all vertices

thank you so much i had no clue the magnet thing existed
W guy for providing the model so you can just go in and inspect it and fine tune your methods
Thanks for your video. But I have a question. Why when I use Knife tool (Cut) 5:34, it cuts only one side? Back side remains unchanged while I'm doing the same.
U have to hold down the 'C' button and then make the cut
@@dimension3d889 Thank you so much! I got really confused.
what is the modifier you're using the whole time?
especially at 25:00
It's a subdivision modifier
Muito fóda! Demais. Obrigado. Aprendi muito.
i am using maya for modeling but watching blender tutorial feel soo good ,i also want to try blender thanks for this video @DIMENSION 3D
do you think maya is easier than blender, or no?
Modelling in blender is a bit easier than maya but when it comes to unwrapping I found maya to be a lot easier
@@babayaga-br7en i think its depends on you maya have some good or bad things also in blender, skills make man perfect just do practice and practice 👍⭐
loving this so far, quick question though. At 4:34 how do I select the corner to bevel it?
Edit: I figured it out, still loving the tutorial
Select the corner edge to bevel. It will be a bit easier if you select it in the perspective view.
@@dimension3d889 thanks for the tip
Ya but how you know how big to make it etc ? Do u have to look at the real gun first in measure or what ? Im just trying to make a frame
bro i'm having a problem at 4:13 when i added the solidify modifier it just messes up the mesh
Sorry for the late reply, I haven't seen your comment.
Have you applied the scale before applying the modifier

Match it with the reference by going on to edit mode.

nice video
Thanks man

Have you applied bevel to the corner edges where it needs to be hard?

Can u share me a ss of ur problem?
U can share me on my Instagram account
how do you snap the vertices!!!
Turn on the verttex snapping first and then hold down ctrl to snap any vertices
thanks for the blender model
4:36 why i cant bevel the edges ?
Check if there is more than one edge on that area
Hey hope your still replying to comments.
Im stuck on the part where you bevel the edges from when you delete the faces.
It doesn allow me to bevel it. Do you know why this is?
Can you tell me the time so I can watch it and then tell you
@@dimension3d889thanks it’s around 4:35 It only lets me bevel but it makes it into a square diamond sort of shape and doesnt let me do it on all vertices
Have to applied the solidify modifier?
If you have applied it then u have to select the whole edge loop there and then try to bevel them
@@dimension3d889 yeah the solidify modifier doesn’t have any clickable vertices or edges it doesn’t even let me click it as a face
Man, what did you do on ~3:30 ? Because of the camera angle it dont shows what lines you chose. Im a little stuck on this =\
Just select the corner hard edges and then bevel it
is it normal to have 79k triangles for the first part after doing the steps in 8:20?
If you are applying subd then it can create higher number of triangles. But I guess 79k is a bit more than usual.
i set the levels viewport to 1 instead of 2 and that reduced it to 20k triangles
but im not sure if thats optimized
Turn off the optimal display and then see it in the wireframe mode. U will able to understand that it's optimized or not
great work 👍
Thanks ✌️
isnt that easier when you just cut the half of part and add the mirror, so you dont need to make same things on each side
Yes u can do that
18:02
1:01:09 how do you turn on mirror modifier? Im desperate please help me
It's a plugin that I used. U can turn on the mirror modifier from the modifier tab > generate >mirror.
@@dimension3d889 thank you so much. I really appreciate it 🙂
thanks!!!!!
You're welcome!
yo nice gun where are you from?

What do you want to learn bro?
@@dimension3d889Modelling Bro
Well, u can go through my modelling tutorials
I cant scale it like xou at 13:29
Have you selected the faces on both side?
If you if have make sure your cursor is on the center of the geometry and then try to scale it
@@dimension3d889 oh i didnt do it on both sides thanks
52:42
Do u have any problem with understanding that part?
@@dimension3d889 No I'm just making a time stamp at where I'm at. Thanks for asking though
Oh ok
you need different reference images like isometric views owning a glock so many details are so wrong
Exactly, Details on Glock are not identical on both sides. At least, that's what I've noticed.
