No, I didn't subdivided it. Just unwrapped the UV's and then textured it

When you want to make a low poly model, there is no need to use sub-d. But if you are creating a high detailed model, which have smooth curves just go with the sub-d

Have you selected the faces on both side? If you if have make sure your cursor is on the center of the geometry and then try to scale it

If you are applying subd then it can create higher number of triangles. But I guess 79k is a bit more than usual.

i set the levels viewport to 1 instead of 2 and that reduced it to 20k triangles but im not sure if thats optimized

Turn off the optimal display and then see it in the wireframe mode. U will able to understand that it's optimized or not

Bevel the edges that you want to make hard and then add sub division modifier to it

@@dimension3d889thanks it’s around 4:35 It only lets me bevel but it makes it into a square diamond sort of shape and doesnt let me do it on all vertices

Have to applied the solidify modifier? If you have applied it then u have to select the whole edge loop there and then try to bevel them

@@dimension3d889 yeah the solidify modifier doesn’t have any clickable vertices or edges it doesn’t even let me click it as a face

I can make it inside blender but have to make the whole city for that

@dimension3d889 I did apply the bevel to the edges and it created a distorted smooth arch. I'm pretty new to blender so I'm sure messed something up along the way

U can dwld the addon for free from the link given in the description or just add some edge loops and delete the faces

Oh, sorry for the confusion. I used hardops mirror modifier there but for some reason I may have changed it from alt+x to shift+alt+x. In your case it will be alt+x if you r using hardops or u can just use mirror modifier from the modifiers tab

Select the corner edge to bevel. It will be a bit easier if you select it in the perspective view.

Hello! I had the same problem. If you delete the faces on the back before you bevel, it will create the creases you are seeing because you are missing some supporting geometry. So try to bevel before deleting the faces and it should work. (I'm new to blender so please correct me if I am wrong)

Modelling in blender is a bit easier than maya but when it comes to unwrapping I found maya to be a lot easier
