I hope his next album is better than this, a lot of it was really sloppy :/ not to say that Gerard isn't extremely talented, it's just whoever produced it did not do a good job. He needs better people working with him, or perhaps MCR back... But talent wise, production wise, and execution wise, it all fell severely below par in the people he works with, and that can be seen in the way the sound around his voice is set up, I could make better recordings on my phone in garage band, the music drowns him out instead of lifting him up, also the music is crowded with sounds that don't need to be there or at least that loudly or in that way... Idk, quite a few songs sounded like a mess, they could've been awesome, but they were so messy it was hard to find a reason to really enjoy them. That's just my opinion and what I noticed... If I were the guy who produced this album Id have fired myself...

Of course I'm not Gerard, but I imagine he is/was happy in both places. He seems to take to the present and really make the best of it. I'm sure he misses My Chemical Romance. Maybe not Frank or any now-embarrassing moments (I'm sure he's not too happy about the Frerard stage kisses and his drunken antics being all over the internet), but I really do believe he misses us as MCR fans and what his career was before. He seems happy now though, even if there aren't many interviews to claim that. At least, I hope so. His happiness is my happiness.

We all like this for Gerard. Some people just like bringing up MCR, which is, in my opinion, 100% okay, since MCR was a beautiful thing that a lot of people choose to cling on to. With that said, the majority of the viewers pretty much like this for Gerard and not just MCR.
Stop saying "mcr get back together" Gerard broke up the band for his own health and for Bandit, he was terrified of the thought that bandit would grow up without a daddy. He was also becoming depressed and relapsed back into the whole alcohol thing. Nobody wants to see gee suffer and die because of alcohol. The band was going to end at some point anyway, I'm actually glad Gerard chose his daughter, wife and health over the band. So PLEASE can we all just be happy that gee is now happy and healthy and still making fantastic music! As a fan of brit-pop, shoegaze, and glam rock, I am just rolling in Gerard's new music. I thought that Danger Days was a perfect album thanks to the real positivity and brightness in the music, and, I feel like Gerard is doing something that he actually wants to do, instead of pumping out a corporate MCR album.

People need to stop putting Gerard in a box. As an old school MCR fan that's been following the band since 2003 I really dig the "new" sound that he's going for. It has a slightly retro feel that most of you are too young to appreciate. Not everything has to have heavy riffs & screaming...Bullets & Three Cheers will always be there for enjoyment. Let the man progress artistically and try new things.
I think people's problem with this song, I know its mine, is that when they were MCR doing Three Cheers, it was an amazing album and I felt like I was sort of rebelling. Now Gerard Way, who was my hero for years, has done song that sounds way to popish and mediocre. To me, he seems to have lost his way
People are forgetting that there's been a similar reaction for every album Gerard's been a part of. When Three Cheers came out there were a number of original MCR fans pissed off because the sound was a lot more poppy compared to Bullets. They saw the band performing on TRL and shit. Then Black Parade came out and some people were pissed because they completely abandoned their post-hardcore roots in order to create a more traditional arena rock album. Then some fans got pissed when Danger Days happened because there were several electronic elements and songs like SING that were basically full on pop. Now there's people upset because Gerard is making muddy, distorted, shoegazey rock music with loud guitars and a lot of fuzz. Gerard is a chameleon. The best artists always are.
I personally like the Alien album because he uses a voice alter, but it doesnt actually change his voice, it just kinda gives off.... an alien vibe Illuminatgee confirmed
Guys, if you don't like the song because it doesn't sound like MCR, leave. I'm upset about the break-up too! I love MCR! But this is Gerard and he's not doing this to impress those who aren't impressed. He's doing this to express himself, his thoughts, and the sound and look of everything here is like when you have to have the perfectly decorated tumblr/instagram/etc page so that it fits your current style. In MCR there was the revenge era, black parade era, danger days era, and now in real life, there's this era (thought I don't know what you'd call it). Gerard's music is a testament for growing up. When MCR was here, we were all young and related to the misery of growing up and MCR's music comforted the pain we felt in middle/high school. But then we grew up, or at least most of us who accept his new phase in music, and this now fits with us and our acceptance into a happier state of mind and being. Just my two cents.
Really like that he doesn't try to fit in nowadays frameworks of "cool music" or "cool music video". He just does what he likes and what he loved when he was a teenager. Sorry for my english, if something's wrong c:

after listening to this a couple of times, i'm starting to love it. i miss mcr, that's undeniable. but that's in the past and i'm grateful that they're still making music. so it makes me very happy that gerard is enjoying his career and writing awesome songs!
I actually loved it - Ignore all the people talking about mcr and saying they don't like it because It's not mcr, they're what you call 10 year old wemo kids who can't get over the breakup and have no respect. I love this! Its different and new. And what's with the weird hand gestures he seems so cute when he did them. I feel like with all the music he made its like a time machine. All emo means is emotional, and My Chemical Romance made confessional and undeniably emotional songs, that's part of what made them so great. The raw, powerful emotion they created. MCR were an emo band, and that's not a bad thing, it literally just means "emotional" and i dont get why everyone sees it as a bad label to be put under if it just means that. No, they are not the "sliT uR wRiSts" "omg kill urself" emo that The Daily Mail and other sources of media made them out to be; but they were a very much emotionally driven band.

People need to stop putting Gerard in a box. As an old school MCR fan that's been following the band since 2003 I really dig the "new" sound that he's going for. It has a slightly retro feel that most of you are too young to appreciate. Not everything has to have heavy riffs & screaming...Bullets & Three Cheers will always be there for enjoyment. Let the man progress artistically and try new things.
I think people's problem with this song, I know its mine, is that when they were MCR doing Three Cheers, it was an amazing album and I felt like I was sort of rebelling. Now Gerard Way, who was my hero for years, has done song that sounds way to popish and mediocre. To me, he seems to have lost his way

People are forgetting that there's been a similar reaction for every album Gerard's been a part of. When Three Cheers came out there were a number of original MCR fans pissed off because the sound was a lot more poppy compared to Bullets. They saw the band performing on TRL and shit. Then Black Parade came out and some people were pissed because they completely abandoned their post-hardcore roots in order to create a more traditional arena rock album. Then some fans got pissed when Danger Days happened because there were several electronic elements and songs like SING that were basically full on pop. Now there's people upset because Gerard is making muddy, distorted, shoegazey rock music with loud guitars and a lot of fuzz. Gerard is a chameleon. The best artists always are.

Gerard's music is a testament for growing up. When MCR was here, we were all young and related to the misery of growing up and MCR's music comforted the pain we felt in middle/high school. But then we grew up, or at least most of us who accept his new phase in music, and this now fits with us and our acceptance into a happier state of mind and being. Just my two cents.

Even though the band themselves disliked being associated with the term "emo", and i fully respect that, the music they made whilst they were together fits the genre perfectly. All emo means is emotional, and My Chemical Romance made confessional and undeniably emotional songs, that's part of what made them so great. The raw, powerful emotion they created.
MCR were an emo band, and that's not a bad thing, it literally just means "emotional" and i dont get why everyone sees it as a bad label to be put under if it just means that. No, they are not the "sliT uR wRiSts" "omg kill urself" emo that The Daily Mail and other sources of media made them out to be; but they were a very much emotionally driven band.
