@@kushagrasharma8974 frank was only credited with writing 2 songs on the first album. I agree the guitars were a driving force why it was so good tho. A lot of the songs draw from what you would associate with midwest emo, with the screaming a lot of other emo bands would follow in the 2000s. The parts were super melodic (headfirst chorus outlining some very major key stuff), and a lot of the rhythms and sudden changes (like honey's soft pre-chorus into loud chorus sharp dynamics) are very midwest emo. Lots of it was vibesy and felt more personal so to speak esp skylines, instead of the more big and conceptual stuff that incorporated hard rock and pop rock they did later which i also still enjoy. Theyre harder listens to the masses one hundred percent, but theyre very enjoyable if ur into that stuff esp if u can get past the songs building up in a lot of places.
Original version of this is one of my favourite songs by them… BUT the arrangement in this is freakin’ EPIC! Those keyboards add so much to the song overall!

i could not put it eloquently in the slightest just how beautiful and moving this performance is. i love watching performances, mcr's are really as delightful as bts's to watch because of what they can add to it! and this did just that!! the slower pacing and addition of the piano made it SO hauntingly beautiful. they're amazing. even if they were tired! the fact that it was in dd era too where they had improved so much in the past 10 or so years! (and it made me so happy they performed it again and again during reunion tour where gerard's screams have gotten SO good) i'm crazy and normal about this
Look up Ronin by ibaraki....he did guest vocals..you are correct...he would make a good metal screamer...it's like a 10 minute song and his part takes a while to get to, but worth it

I was quite young when they were in their prime and at that time I didn't really like these kinds of genres because I was more focused on pop songs. But My Chemical Romance is really popular especially back then. I always heard their songs on the radio, on TV, on the cellphones of my classmates and our neighbors also in malls and other establishments. But now I appreciate their songs and Gerard Way is so amazing, I love you! ❤🥰
