    I didn't hear or see it mentioned in the video, but anyone wishing to build a unit like this, the minimum DC voltage from solar has to be 120vdc. I use Aionrise 360 watt panels that have a VOC of 49.1vdc. Thus, my setup requires 3 panels to start the MPPT charge controller.

      120V(I was 124V) did not work for me, Glad you were over that (with 145+), or you comment might have been different

    Great video! I’ve saved the link to share with others. I built one just like this 3 years ago. It cost me almost $3k at the time. Used it for an emergency backup system at my house for 2 years. This summer I moved it to our off grid property, hooked up four 355 W panels and used it to power tools & a water pump to irrigate our garden.

    I watched Will Prowse build this a few months ago and was about to order all my parts but his affiliate link is current connected. Glad I watched your build out first if for no other reason the $50 coupon. Thanks man!

    Mine used to be on a dolly, now it's powering my "casita" or mother in law suite. Runs the lights, freezer, and A/C at night, damn nice unit.

      @@JBPowell-y9m Good day Sir. This system, does it supply enough power to run the item's mention 24/7? I am 73 looking for something that will run my full size refrigerator / freezer, tv and 3 lights all the time. And are you using 1 or more batteries. Hope to hear from you. Merry Christmas

      @@kevinott-ol2ry Well with solar everything is dependent on the sun so no sun no power. But yes it can run what you listed provided you have enough batteries and they get charged up enough during the day. I paired this system with an EG4 solar hybrid mini split so my A/C's power needs during the day are taken care of by it's own set of solar panels allowing more power to go to charging the batteries during the day so I have enough of a charge to cover my power needs overnight. I will also add that I am still connected to the grid on both my main house and the Casita, but I switch back n forth as needed with a transfer switch. And I cannot stress enough just how easy the transfer switch I use makes it for me or anyone to power their house with a solar system without back feeding the grid. I spent months trying to figure out an easy way to install a whole house transfer switch until my good friend turned me on to the Reliance Pro Trans II transfer switch. I encourage everyone to watch their 6 or so 5 min videos on how to install them and see for yourself.

      @@CountryLivingExperiencecant help ya there 😅 maybe if you retranslate the transcript back. I suppose it is better to say very basic words, and avoid complex english or people might take things the wrong way...
      I can already tell there is going to be foreign speaker people upset at the incorrect measurements and tool part numbers on the repair and diy vides 😅

    The power strip from Harbor Freight with the magnetic back works great to stick it on the inverter. I used the male end cut off the power strip for the power in cord. Have already used this in a 2 day power outage to run the essentials in the house.

    I built the exact same setup with the same equipment. Problem is that the AC output is not electrically bonded and I measure 60 volts on the hot leg to ground and 60v on the neutral leg to ground. Also, I measured 35 AC volts from the inverter cabinet to the concrete slab the dolly is stationed on. A shock hazard for sure. 13:15 Plugging the inverter in to the grid on bad solar days does not solve the bonding issue even though the service panel is bonded within the cabinet. Bonding the AC outlet creates a problem also if grid power is connected due to having 2 bond locations. Does anyone have a fix for this? Love to know , thanks.

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 дні тому

      Interesting. I just checked mine. I have 3.1volts when not under load and 11.13 volts when under load (heat gun 1500w)

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 дні тому

      Also, these inverters are not internally bonded. (the old models were)

      @@mikeg928 there's a guy on UA-cam with a video showing where the screw is that was previously used to bond the unit.

      I’ve seen that bonding screw video. I was going to install a screw there like the video. The problem is if you connect grid power to the AC input you’ll end up with 2 bonds. Not sure if this. Could damage the inverter. Check all your output voltages. See if you get the same readings I got

    I followed your build and everything appeared to be okay except I could not set setting 9 to 60Hz. It reverted to 50Hz. Also, I noticed warning code 19 (lithium battery communication failure) on the screen of the inverter. I tried changing the communication cable (note that I started out with the right one - gray with yellow connectors). After turning the system on and off a couple of times to test a different cable), the inverter failed to turn on, even when going back to the correct cable. I have tried holding the enter button on the inverter down for 5 seconds, but that does't solve the problem. Note that I have not added PV input yet.

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  15 годин тому

      That is strange. I have never encountered the Hz setting issue.
      I would give EG4 (or wherever you purchased it from) a call.
      At this time you could set the battery to USE to solve the output issue in the short term.

    • @mikeg928
      @mikeg928 3 години тому

      Same thing happened to me. With the battery on I switched off the inverter and immediately went the Hz program then selected 60, pressed ‘enter’ and it held. Give it a try

    What do you mean when you say use solar first, battery 2nd then utility. What is utility?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  День тому

      When you are using the inverter and powering a load (like a refrigerator), the inverter will use the solar panel power first, then the battery, then the grid/electric company utility connection (if you have it enabled ad plugged in).

    Hi. Can this be all put into my sprinter van ? I like the eco Flo 10kw system for vans but they want so much money So can this run everything in a van like the eco flow ??

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  15 годин тому +1

      It can but you will need an extra part called a DC to DC converter. This unit is 48v and your van is 12v so you will need to convert it down.

    Looks like the inverter requires a minimum of 120VDC input. So for 200W PV, it will require (6) PV panels - and probably (7). That ain't gonna work on an RV

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 дні тому +1

      People use larger inverters than this for rv's. This one is used all the time.
