“Boomery” ? Yeah, I guess the EG4 6000xp screen is a little hard to read without bifocals 🤓 it is a great inverter though. I helped a friend install one in his off grid cabin with an indoor power pro battery and 21 rooftop panels. Runs the entire place including mini-split A/C. I have two at home and they rock. Signature Solar has some of the best prices on quality DIY solar gear for sure. ☀️⚡️🔋👍🤩
I would love to see an all in one dual inverter. 80% of the time I’m using well under 1000 watts. Sometimes I would want to have a higher output inverter to charge an EV, run a welder or compressor. I want to minimize parasitic or idle standby loss having to run the larger inverter 24-7. My dc system would be 48v.
Also, please review Wattcycle batts. I just bought four of their 12V, 100Ah standard (group 24) battery. Got four of 'em for about $628 before tax. I've got them on an EG4 3000 EHV based hand truck house power backup system. No big load or deep discharge tests yet, but so far so good. I'm thinking of buying four more before the tariffs hit.

@@Ms2Chill They did a firmware update which eliminated the SCP but didn't tell anyone so after the update the SCP and the Gateway were conflicting which caused a software error. They warrantied the inverters so I actually have two new invertes still in the box plus the two with the software issue and all the other schneider equipment for that setup. I decided to install the 6000xp's during this ordeal so I'll either sell the Schneider setup or hook them up somewhere else at some point.
You guys ever get that Alpha 5 Pro to communicate with the 6000XP? I ordered a bundle with this setup and after watching your A5P review I feel like I should have went EG4. Spoke with Rich Solar on the phone and they said to call back when I get it in to speak with an engineer. Any luck?
I was hoping to see the Ruixu Lithi2-16. I know the older server rack battles were a little suspect but have come a long way and the Lithi2-16 also has all the UL listings. Wondering if maybe you’ll test and review one?
I just got the 12000xp. What is your opinion on that? Feel free to preface it on book numbers or other reviews. I have only had it running for a day and at 1/10th load on average lol. But more to come once I get my right sized battery cables in that were delayed in shipping.
As a factory authorized inverter repair tech with over 25 years of experience, I would suggest staying away from any high frequency, transformerless inverter like the 12000xp. A much better and safer choice is a low frequency, transformer based inverter charger.
@@quickquote1568 I can "guess" why you made this statement, but you should elaborate why, not just "trust me". Replace too many FET's? HF Inverter fails and becomes unrepairable? The weight and size gap for 12000VA between HF and conventional transformer is huge. Also the efficiency of magnetizing a steel core versus HF.
@@rf_dude The FETs in high frequency inverters have a shorter life expectancy because it is not possible to properly impedance match all of the possible high inductance loads that are found in a typical home or shop. High frequency inverters also offer a far poorer surge capacity than transformer based, low frequency inverters which lessens their ability to start many high inductance loads. High frequency inveters typically use, low cost, higher voltage electrolytics that have a higher failure rate than the lower voltage caps that are used in low frequency inverters. Because there is no output transformer in a high frequency inverter, they do not provide any galvanic isolation between their DC boost stage and their AC output which can lead to damage and even fires in appliances when the MOSFETs in the H-Bridge circuit fail and short to ground. And the weight of a low frequency inverter is irrelevant when you consider that an inverter should only be mounted one time during its 10 to 15 year operational life expectancy. These are just a few of the reasons why no reputable American inverter manufacturer builds their inverters using high frequency, transformerless tech.

I need some help with an hybrid inverter. I want to have my home office (that has lots of electronics) run on Solar power. I need to have solar priority so when when the batteries get down to say 25%, AC power kicks in and keeps the batteries charged up to say 50% ..but will fully charge when solar kicks back in during the day. Which inverters can do this? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Go with a DC only system with an old style mechanical relay based charge controller. Use real analog metering.Then use DC appliances and incadescent lights straight from the battery.
All of these are way above my needs although I could see many who could use these power systems. If I had an electric car, it would be high on my list to get something working to extend my range. With this said, I'm really looking forward to the Solid State batteries as they are several step ups from the lithium batteries. No liquid, safer and Toyota has been the main developer of their solid state batteries so reliability will be the mainstay of solid state batteries.
I don’t understand the hate for Bluetti? Bluetti is a better solar/battery system than the anker solix f3800 that thing is junk for a home setup. The Bluetti Ac300 your showing is also ancient compared to the Solix F3800. Sure, the Solix has more output but for a home solar/charger setup it’s horrible.
@@TheSolarLab I'm just saying it's a horrible for a solar/battery, but the Delta pro's are better for a home setup. I just don't understand the praise for the Solix F3800 if your trying to go solar. The Solix has a big caveat that it most likely won't be runned by solar like the other generators and its terrible for home owners trying to save money on their electric bill which is the majority of people.

What do these solar youtubers have against talking price? One of the first things I want to know before all the glowing comments is "does this cost twice as much as it should?"
Why do I get the feeling that someone needs to be an electrical engineer or at minimum a highly qualified,very well trained technician to be able to understand, install,setup and trouble shoot one of these highly complicated systems?
I do not believe those batteries are EMP protected. If it is connected to other stuff, it will be fried. Period. PLEASE explain how this EMP protection works on these batteries.
@ Right. But if any of this equipment is connected to anything not protected to the fullest it will fry. It would always have to be completely sealed when not in use… And just because they say it is EMP protected doesn’t mean it actually is. The fact that it is free means it is not legit. Obviously you do not know what is required to be “protected” from EMP’s, otherwise you would not have thrown that dumb link as if there is any technical information useful as proof of this stated claim without evidence. I’m sure the product is cool, but not that cool.

High frequency, transformerless inverters make a crappy choice when it comes to life expectancy, surge capacity and galvanic isolation. That's why they're known as a poor man's inverter. No thanks.
@@eric-seastrand High-frequency, transformerless inverters are not necessarily more cheaply made. Many of them are well constructed. It's more their basic design which requires a high parts count and the lack of an output transformer that dictates their performance, longevity, and safety limitations.
If you can't build a shed with walls that can carry 300 pounds then probably can't build a floor to share that load. For those who can, the stainless steel, adjustable feet are exceptionally high quality.

The 6000xp is very loud though. Coming from a Schneider XW Pro is like night and day.
I bet replacing the fans with Noctua brand would work.
@nicholasthon973 problem is that to get to the fans you have to open the case which voids the warranty.

The LIFEPOWER4 V2 batteries from EG4 are cheaper than the LL's and are a great option!

Go with a DC only system with an old style mechanical relay based charge controller. Use real analog metering.Then use DC appliances and incadescent lights straight from the battery.

All of these are way above my needs although I could see many who could use these power systems. If I had an electric car, it would be high on my list to get something working to extend my range. With this said, I'm really looking forward to the Solid State batteries as they are several step ups from the lithium batteries. No liquid, safer and Toyota has been the main developer of their solid state batteries so reliability will be the mainstay of solid state batteries.
I don’t understand the hate for Bluetti? Bluetti is a better solar/battery system than the anker solix f3800 that thing is junk for a home setup. The Bluetti Ac300 your showing is also ancient compared to the Solix F3800. Sure, the Solix has more output but for a home solar/charger setup it’s horrible.
What Bluetti unit do you like better than the F3800 and why? And why do you think the F3800 is horrible?
@@TheSolarLab I'm just saying it's a horrible for a solar/battery, but the Delta pro's are better for a home setup. I just don't understand the praise for the Solix F3800 if your trying to go solar. The Solix has a big caveat that it most likely won't be runned by solar like the other generators and its terrible for home owners trying to save money on their electric bill which is the majority of people.

I don’t think they have the capacity or the output to make a significant impact in your home electric bill compared to the initial cost. The return on investment time would be pretty huge.

I do not believe those batteries are EMP protected. If it is connected to other stuff, it will be fried. Period. PLEASE explain how this EMP protection works on these batteries.

@ Right. But if any of this equipment is connected to anything not protected to the fullest it will fry. It would always have to be completely sealed when not in use… And just because they say it is EMP protected doesn’t mean it actually is. The fact that it is free means it is not legit. Obviously you do not know what is required to be “protected” from EMP’s, otherwise you would not have thrown that dumb link as if there is any technical information useful as proof of this stated claim without evidence. I’m sure the product is cool, but not that cool.

@@eric-seastrand High-frequency, transformerless inverters are not necessarily more cheaply made. Many of them are well constructed. It's more their basic design which requires a high parts count and the lack of an output transformer that dictates their performance, longevity, and safety limitations.
