@prink I'm saying they need to play a show away from a con. I'm only disappointed because I do enjoy this band and I'd like to see them back in the U.S. one day. That's why it's so important for VK fans to support the artists when they come here and really show them that we love them and we're happy to have them here.
@meValeRemy An Cafe is oshare kei. When they first started out, I think they were trying to aim for visual kei, but they made a huge change & became much more poppy. Giving them their oshare kei signature appearance.
Ha we dint just stand there. When u went to a concert for visual kei yeah there was a group just standing but most of us were dancing and singing along. It was amazing!
@BleuxMoi Mm, yes. Technically An Cafe is Oshare Kei, right? They don't describe themselves as Visual Kei anyway. XD 'Harajuku Dance Rock' is how they describe their music, right? What ill research they've done. xD
Kyaaah!! This is great!! An Cafe rocks!!! Oh no!! Isn't Visual Key, is Visual Kei!!! Kei means "Style" in japanese... ¬¬ Visual Kei wa SUGOI desu yo!! *O*
i wouldnt go so far as to say all americans stand there and watch, and many truly appriciate the music, but theres some bands, that are just so awesome, i couldnt move if i wanted to
@ricefIower I don't think that Gackt ever toured in America and even if he did I wouldn't care. However, Dir en grey had said that they enjoy the American crowds and also D'espairsRay had said that they like the enthusiasm of Americans
@Smashspider3 I understand that point but mosh pits are not exactly a normal point of most concerts. I think what a lot of us who have discovered Japanese rock & Visual Kei look at how the Japanese react at concerts. I think the best crowd reactions I have seen which I still think are the standard are the live concerts of hide and his other band X Japan. Watch hide doing Misery live or Tell Me live. I love their reaction and wish that was the same sort of thing here.
@DIRU382 I know diru is no more visual, I don't thin the GazettE is visuale anymore either, but I was talking in general terms, u know how the thing works, am I wrong? Even in Japan they still consider them visual (as far as I know) u_u'
@gabi326jjk as well. Not really American bands, but a couple German bands, Dragonforce (from England I think), a couple Finnish industrial bands and Deathstars (Sweden). I just find myself to like Japanese music more, the stuff I listen to is much more melodic and clasically influenced.
@NatsuNyappy i don't dress visual kei style but still i do dress flamboyant. lots of times stares can be just the person inerest in the way you dress then thinking your a freak.
@Ilovekulashaker Well, dear. That's how the guy in the video said it. He called it 'manga cartoons.' I think that he meant anime? I didn't really understand what he meant for sure. lol I don't hate manga or anime. I don't hate non-japanese comic books or cartoons either. I was just saying that manga and anime aren't why I love Visual Kei. o.O I just really really love the music. I like the fashion styles as well, but mostly I just love the music.
i've been to an cafe concert before!! it was awesome!!! the fans were screaming like hell even over the loud speakers they the singer was almost not audible.
Yess they are :) well im mexican and i think mexicans are really dedicated to band we like because they never come here xD An cafe did it once, Sugizo too and Miyavi will be in mexico on october but all of them come to only one city and sometimes is too far away. (personaly i went to an cafes concert in LA because mexico city is too far away from where i live)
did miku really say that about america? i sure wouldn't go just because i like manga and the way they look. i dont read a lot of manga and an cafe doesn't look nearly as epic as other bands. i really like the music.
@prink Of course my point was that I wish they would book a show NOT at a con. I'm not disappointed at the fans at anime cons! Just the majority of the people at the show probably were not too sure of who they were. If the show was away from a con actual fans would buy tickets, not people who purchased passes at a con. And I know I sure as hell would show them how crazy American fans can be at a show.
1. Visual kei is not new. IT WAS STARTED IN 1982 2. It is not a trend it is a style 3. People in this video are pronouncing stuff wrong and i want to CUT off their tungs for it. 4. And also "manga cartoons" bjatch what u say?!!!!
@patrick10001 I care because I love this music, I love VK and the bands that come to the U.S. deserve to have their fans give it their all. If we don't, why would they want to come back? That's why it matters to me.
It's all good for the French, I only know about 2 people who love visual kei bands here in Wales, and I don't have the money to buy loads of make-up and clothes to follow even just a little of the style :(
If you don't find any weird or original VK bands,it's just that you haven't looked well enough. Vk IS very commercial and does simple stuff that pleases everyone, but you always have bands which aren't like that. Try any of Eiji's bands like Codomo A or Sandwich de 120 bun?. Maybe Azafuse...idk, but you do have some original bands around. Kagerou made a variety of stuff and some original songs... But I can't find any new bands which make different stuff, it's starting to get all the same...
@SATOunbroken oshare kei is not a sub-genre of visual kei. Also, oshare kei is the complete opposite of visual kei. Yes, you're making my point even more clear. They're a rock band, not a visual kei band.
one thing I can say if you don’t like looking at someone dress up like that then don’t look at us at all :3 VISUAL KEI LOVE YOU TELL I DIE!!!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!!!! :P
I haven't gotten far into Japanese music yet, but I like Gackt, Dir en Grey, L'Arc~en~Ciel and some others that I hear on Pandora Radio.... I'm still trying to remember some American bands, so it's definitely hard for me to remember the names of Japanese. I also remember X Japan...... well... the name at least. ^^" (and no I have not been to an anime convention)
@Smashspider3 Mosh pits are not the same thing as what the fans of Visual Kei are like. They get into the music without trying to bash each other's heads into bloody gore.
@JRockGrrl Same here but I'm an open minded person when comes to international stuff. Visual Kei is awesome! Sadly it's true that most Americans do look down upon this.
why would they think its pronounced "visual key" i mean really. when i first heard of visual kei i knew from the begining without anyone telling me that its pronounced "visual kay" but whatev...
OH AND HERE are some basic knowledge! :D Visual and Oshare Kei is a style not a genre. because if it was a genre practically all of their music would sound similar. (Just saying because some people call it a genre and that irks me XD)
@DarkAngelRabbitX3 haha and i would be right next you yelling "why aren't you guys doing anything !?! this is AN CAFE !?!!" haha i like them alot so i wouldn't really care if me and you were the only two people screaming in the crowd . it just shows that we're true lovers of visual kei and the music , NOT just the style .
this is by no means new. Im 27 and first saw this stuff when i was 18, from japan.
This is while i resided outside of jp.
What a great time to have been young. ^_^
Ow Miku that hurts... I love everything about you guys not just the way you dress! The music is so fun and jumpy! I love it!! XD
I would que up my whole life to see An café
Oshare Kei is a type of Visual Kei, it is just on the cuter spectrum.
I hope An Cafe comes to Canada for a tour; Canadians can show their J-rock spirit with style!!!
"amaricans just stand there" lol
@rocktohell well An Cafe is one of the most famous Visual bands in Europe, also The GazettE and Dir en Grey
@jadasmiles technically its pronounced visual keh-ee
But mostly pronounced kay because people don't want to strain on the ee part.
What ill research they've done. xD
@ichaichaparadice I agree, visual kei in general has changed a lot from what malize mizer penicillin etc was too though
@KaorusHYDRA
They do come to Austin City Limits. Not them specificlleh, but visual does. At A-kon people "don't just stand there."
@TheKillerCookies
The band is called Mix Speakers Inc.
@KaienSano like Keh- ee?, Keh-ih? or Keh- eye? thnx! :)
@jadasmiles
Everytime he said KEY I died a little inside. haha
@XDJROCKER Oshare iz still considered visual kei because it's a sub genre tho. But yes specifically, An Cafe = oshare and the GazettE = visual
Kyaaah!! This is great!! An Cafe rocks!!!
Oh no!! Isn't Visual Key, is Visual Kei!!! Kei means "Style" in japanese... ¬¬
Visual Kei wa SUGOI desu yo!! *O*
visual kei is a band who use their look as a part of their band .. and band can be both
i believe it is MIx speakers Inc.
dir en grey is my fave visual kei band, but i like an cafe too!!! (although they seem alot more oshare kei to me)
@BleuxMoi
An Cafe are a subgenre of Visual Kei, Oshare Kei.
L'arc are a rock band.
i wouldnt go so far as to say all americans stand there and watch, and many truly appriciate the music, but theres some bands, that are just so awesome, i couldnt move if i wanted to
Visual "key" I'm dead
This video gives a wrong picture about An Cafe and Visual Kei/Oshare Kei!
@silakotonaru yes, they are Mix Speakers Inc.
Thanksss ! :)
Yeah all is good and well except for the small fact that An Cafe is oshare kei which is different from visual kei...
what is that band called, the one that comes out at 1:12 to 1:27
they look so cute I must know :3
@ricefIower I don't think that Gackt ever toured in America and even if he did I wouldn't care. However, Dir en grey had said that they enjoy the American crowds and also D'espairsRay had said that they like the enthusiasm of Americans
@Smashspider3 I understand that point but mosh pits are not exactly a normal point of most concerts. I love their reaction and wish that was the same sort of thing here.
@Alexninja250 ACTUALLY Theres a visual kei band with that hair style so they must of gotten the idea from them.
Antic Cafe is Oshare-Kei, a parallel gender of the visual kei. L'Arc~en~Ciel are just J-Rock.
And like BleuxMoi say, its not "ki" its "kei" ^^
If I could go see An Cafe i would die of happiness, O.O
@DIRU382 I know diru is no more visual, I don't thin the GazettE is visuale anymore either, but I was talking in general terms, u know how the thing works, am I wrong?
Even in Japan they still consider them visual (as far as I know) u_u'
can someone please tell me what that song is that larc en ciel played at the end?

ew they say visual "key" it's pronounced "kay" and also not all Americans just stand there sorry Miku :( :( :(
whats the band at 2:30
i wanna listen to them...
@Riutachi I don't think it sucks either, I was saying that how they pronounce it incorrectly on this sucks.
@Ilovekulashaker Well, dear.
That's how the guy in the video said it. He called it 'manga cartoons.' I think that he meant anime? I didn't really understand what he meant for sure. lol
I don't hate manga or anime. I don't hate non-japanese comic books or cartoons either.
I was just saying that manga and anime aren't why I love Visual Kei. o.O I just really really love the music. I like the fashion styles as well, but mostly I just love the music.
what is 2:30 group name ?
i've been to an cafe concert before!! it was awesome!!! the fans were screaming like hell even over the loud speakers they the singer was almost not audible.
what about the gazettes D:
@lilkitty100 He's probably referring to gigs they've done at anime cons and stuff.
finnally visual kei gets more attention
Yess they are :)
well im mexican and i think mexicans are really dedicated to band we like because they never come here xD
An cafe did it once, Sugizo too and Miyavi will be in mexico on october but all of them come to only one city and sometimes is too far away.
(personaly i went to an cafes concert in LA because mexico city is too far away from where i live)
I agree with you Davidthebright, I assume the UK host asked: compare "so & so" to American fans *roll camera*
*eye roll*
did miku really say that about america? i sure wouldn't go just because i like manga and the way they look. i dont read a lot of manga and an cafe doesn't look nearly as epic as other bands. i really like the music.
L'Arc~en~ciel is JRock, not visial kei. right?
@prink Of course my point was that I wish they would book a show NOT at a con. I'm not disappointed at the fans at anime cons! Just the majority of the people at the show probably were not too sure of who they were. If the show was away from a con actual fans would buy tickets, not people who purchased passes at a con. 1. Visual kei is not new. IT WAS STARTED IN 1982
2. It is not a trend it is a style
3. People in this video are pronouncing stuff wrong and i want to CUT off their tungs for it.
4. And also "manga cartoons" bjatch what u say?!!!!

@MuffinPRINCESSx33 actually, Is Oshare Kei :0
Its harujuku style, Visual kei and oshirio kei or some thing
It's all good for the French, I only know about 2 people who love visual kei bands here in Wales, and I don't have the money to buy loads of make-up and clothes to follow even just a little of the style :(
@Pbuddhafull ki is pronounced kee.

I'm a Canadian fan as well! :D
@SATOunbroken
oshare kei is not a sub-genre of visual kei. Also, oshare kei is the complete opposite of visual kei.
Yes, you're making my point even more clear. They're a rock band, not a visual kei band.
well he said it's about shocking and he's pretty original so what's the prob ?
one thing I can say if you don’t like looking at someone dress up like that then don’t look at us at all :3 VISUAL KEI LOVE YOU TELL I DIE!!!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!!!! :P

An Cafe
Dig this if you judge that "americans" just stand there you're wrong. Unlike your own people you don't even cheer. yes your people just Stand there.
2:30 L'Arc~en~Ciel??? I thought Tetsuya stated it clearly that they are NOT visual kei >.>
Love them though...and An Cafe is love too ♥ x3
yes!
"Americans just stand there"
Odd... Where were you guys playing?
yes I agree. I dress like that sometimes and get lots of stares and nasty comments -_-
Guy at 0:56 totally overdid it.
why would they think its pronounced "visual key" i mean really. when i first heard of visual kei i knew from the begining without anyone telling me that its pronounced "visual kay" but whatev...

i LUV that pikachu hoodie @ 0:38
Im so sad miku said that, but it's partially true
OH AND HERE are some basic knowledge! :D
Visual and Oshare Kei is a style not a genre. because if it was a genre practically all of their music would sound similar. (Just saying because some people call it a genre and that irks me XD)
I liked any kind of Kei before it was real famous (:
Wow... That was like a slap in the face. D:
@DarkAngelRabbitX3 haha and i would be right next you yelling "why aren't you guys doing anything !?! this is AN CAFE !?!!" haha i like them alot so i wouldn't really care if me and you were the only two people screaming in the crowd . it just shows that we're true lovers of visual kei and the music , NOT just the style .
Whats the name of the visual kei band that likes to dress up as monsters?
