      they sound like the Q 30 like soundcore said they would on release, also said they'd be their best noise cancelling headphones under 100$ and that was correct they are probably the best under a 100$ out of any brand..

      Right I think the company used to be a pretty viable budget option and now I think it's running solely on a social media marketing strategy similar to raycon. When it is technically impressive that you can get ldac and multi-point for less than $100. But I'm so sick of every single video calling these things the champions under 100. We know they're going to say the same thing about their next product and we know they're not allowed to make direct comparisons as part of the contract

    • @michaelcorcoran8768

      @@RatchetRorschachfor wireless you might want to consider edifier, Sony (Flossy Carter did a direct comparison between the space one and the cheaper Sony option which are the same price once you account for the sale). I can't remember the name of the model but obviously it's xm5. It's the cheaper variant below that but still sounds better.
      Or even just an older product from the same company like the q30 or the q35. Edifier, soundpeats, OneOdio, and tozo all have competitive options for about half the price.
      I haven't tried the space one so I'm not agreeing or disagreeing that they're good or bad. But there's definitely other options, they just don't spend as much on marketing. But the fact is because sound court is spending so much on marketing these $100 headphones are probably more like $70 headphones and $30 extra spent on social media marketing.
      I would rather them put the money into the product

      It's actually sound good, better than most high end. Some units are badly tuned or of the box. A one properly EQ one dollar ear phone is almost as good as an WF-XM5 (In my experience).
      A cheap IEM will blow any wireless earphone/headphones. Remember this.

    Silly question perhaps, but how do you determine where to align up the new measurement on the graph? Is it simply from the previously adjusted dBs that you aim for?

    • @Sintrania
      @Sintrania 9 місяців тому +1

      The measurements is in db so you can probably compensate one part of the graph like, lets say you want 1000khz to be the same level of loudness the rest will naturally align. But it won’t be 100% accurate and frequency response is more of a tonal balanced of headphone rather than specific loudness comparison between headphones.

    • @masterxyr
      @masterxyr 9 місяців тому

      @@SintraniaYeah, even if all HPs were perfectly aligned at a perfect 1K their signature is always there anyways, ie, if I miss a few dBs at the rig, x's bass is still going to be over its mids and etc. If I raise the HPs volume the signature doesn't change

    I love that you still cover gear at this price level! The perspective is much needed and you never know when you’ll come across a gem!
    Personally, I’ve kinda sworn off of wireless headphones unless it’s a matter of convenience or I just need to travel light. I also don’t place a high value on ANC because the better the ANC, the more artifacts of its effectiveness I hear in the sound! But maybe that’s just me!
    Where I’ve found value has been with some of AKG’s headphones and iem’s. They can be found heavily discounted with great build quality and very good sonics. They’re not a first thought and because of that fly under the radar. I used their N400NC iem’s for a couple of years now. I picked them up directly from AKG for sub $50 and they were made to sell for $150. A very neutral and balanced sound. Built like a tank!
    Unless you absolutely want or need to be totally wireless, my first suggestion will always be to get a portable BT receiver to use with your wired headphones/iem’s if sound quality is important to you.

    The first part of your description of the sound quality is ok point because I have the soundcore liberty air 2 pro and my experience with them are just like that. I don’t really enjoy the sound quality that much, I always have to crank up the volume to enjoy the songs which gets frustrating. With my old headphones in 2015, I didn’t have to do that, but I did it alot because it did make the experience a bit more immersive. Songs I’ve listened to in 2016 whenever I listen to them on the soundcores they sound ok but nowhere near as good as they sounded on my 2015 headphones, I forgot what they were called but they can fold just like the sony wh xm3. The listening experience just wasn’t as good. I’ve had this complaint with nearly every single headphone/earbud I’ve had since those stopped working back in summer 2016. The earbuds I’ve had after that were pretty good. Sound on my Onn wireless earbuds were pretty good, but still wasn’t as good as my old headphones. The bass was a little overpowering at times. For example, back in summer of 2016 on my old headphones I listened to this song by wiz Khalifa called “Paperbond” and I enjoyed it so much. It felt like I was at the beach when the hook played and I heard the seagulls in the background as a melody for the beat. And another song I listened to was called Slip and Slide by Jonn hart and I fell in love with the beat and the rhythm was so catchy, I was literally moving along with the music it was incredible. I never had that same kind of experience again when I listened to it years later on other earbuds and headphones. The new pair I got in 2017 for my 14th birthday was almost as good as my old ones but just wasn’t loud enough and I felt the bass wasn’t as good. I remember listening to another song called “4 digits” by Eric bellinger on my new pair of headphones in early 2018 and it was nice, but still wasn’t nearly as great as on my old ones just because the sound stopped working on one side. Then in Christmas 2019, I was surprised by a new pair of headphones but from a different brand and loved them. The sound was very close to my 2015 headphones. A song I listened to on those that amazed me was all we do by Trey Songz, the feeling of being in the studio watching Trey Songz kill those vocals to the beat was insane. The feeling was hard to explain. Fast forward to December 2021, I listened to that same song again on my soundcores, and the experience was a downgrade, it wasn’t as fun to listen to as it was on my headphones from 2019, their called the santana by Carlos Santana. Idk if that’s a real brand or not but those were incredible, only thing that sucked was the range. But yeah, i just don’t enjoy the sound quality of the soundcores that much

    Exact same problem my Liberty 3 pro's have. Huge bass with that midrange drop; then just tons of random energy in the highs. Honestly it's nice to see someone pointing this out because the TWS crew on youtube just shills damn near everything Soundcore comes out with.
    I think people like them because they've just not really heard much that sounds proper - the consumer curve tends to be big bass with recessed mids.

      unfortunately the average consumers like that big bass (bloated) and those somewhat sharp treble (perceived detail). its a step up from just murky bloated bass, allowing the average consumer to say something about the sound other than just. "the bass is good". now they say the "bass is good" and "it sounds pretty clear"= or with good clarity" almost misleading by having the best of both worlds. bassy=murky but also clear= detailed

Some other reviewers seem to have tip toed around the actual sound quality because of the rest of the qualities of this headphone. Sorry but it is a headphone and the sound is part of it, if it garbage, it's garbage and they need to address that by updating it or fix it on the next model. I also own a soundcore product (VR P10), and after I see this, I can say that soundcore's "house sound" is just bad. EQ can save them a little, but in general, just avoid them unless you reaaally like the aesthetic or the thing have a certain feature set you don't find on other products.

      Yes, I bought the Final Audio UX3000 and think it's probably the best deal out there right now. Quite natural-sounding and that's not common in this price range. I have HiFiMAN Susvara and Focal Utopia when I have time to do serious listening on my desk with amps but I have no problem turning to the UX3000 when I need to listen to music while moving around. I used it in the subway and flights as well, the ANC is not as good as the AirPods Max or the Bose NC700 but it's decent.

    • @TechnoGuy11

      For a relatively cheap ANC headphone, I think the UX3000 is a steal based on SQ alone. I have headphones ranging in price from around 300 to 2k and these little wireless ones can hold their own with some of my wired headphones that cost 4 times as much.

    I have the poweramp app as well and tried to use that to get better sound but that did not work either.
    Had a similar experience with the Q45's and ended up selling those. With the Soace One they were back in the box and returned 45 minutes after opening them. (I did the firmware update and tweaked the settings in that 45 minutes and I realised that I was going to lose no matter what so they had to go back)
    It's a shame as I have the Liberty 4 NC's which are quite brilliant and sound a 100 times better than the Space Ones and Q45. Soundcore should stick to earbuds.....

    Soundcore products seem VERY hit and miss. The Q30's I think are great value especially with EQ, but they progressively got worse the newer their products get. The ANC and Transparency on the Q45's I think is the best I've heard for around £100 (I got mine for £87) and even at that price the sound quality is very disappointing. Wavelet improves the sound quality to my liking but it's still not ideal. Their portable speakers are very nice although I don't really have a lot of Bluetooth devices to really compare them too. I already have the HiFiMan Edition XS which I use for almost everything at home paired with my Fiio K7 which I'm love (thinking about trying out the LCD-X's) Damn, in a sea of trying out different headphones that's mostly personal preference, picking the right one is really hard. I still don't know where my personal preferences lies yet as my HiFimans are the very first headphones I've spent more than £300 on...
    Sidenote: I also recently picked up the Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2's, I was too curious not to see what the "sensory bass" is like. Not gonna lie, even though I think it's the kind of headphone that I think DMS would hate, it's already kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. Very fun for certain tracks in the EDM genre, even though I mostly have mine set to 10% (which is already ridiculously bassy even with some EQ adjustments in wavelet) and it's what I like to call a fun "pick up and play" kind of headphone where you listen to them on short bursts of 10-30 minutes at a time, and then put back down maybe to use later on throughout the day when I suddenly remember what track I think will sound "fun" on them. That's why I prefer them over my Soundcore products, definitely not audiophile quality by any means, but it has the "fun" aspect that you never quite get on the Soundcores. Still highly recommend the Q30's though, especially with some EQ adjustments to anyone's liking...
    So yeah, overly long rambling session over! would be extremely curious to what DMS thinks of the Crushers. Even though I think he won't like them, the video itself should he very interesting.

      The q30 with the piano, or custom eq from Cow on UA-cam will be much better. I use them when I need noise cancelling but I've got etymotic er2se's on the way which isolate incredibly well passively, plus they're as neutral as any audio device can hope to be.

    • @Benzo97
      @Benzo97 9 місяців тому

      @@mikafoxx2717I'm probably gonna try the er2se's at some point because I've heard pretty much nothing but great things about them. I'm not an IEM guy as I usually find them uncomfortable but maybe it's just because I had pretty crappy ones for a while before I suddenly became more interested in audio quality so maybe the comfort on the er2se's will be much better than I've experienced in the past.

    Some other channel has a sound demo and, I agree, it's pretty bad. Soundcore has tons of bass and harsh treble on a lot of things, apparently. I have the Liberty 3 Pro TWS earbuds and they are pretty harsh on default tuning, and have too much bass. However, for the price, I often do recommend Soundcore to people who don't care about sound quality like audiophiles do. Their stuff is solid and you get something that competes with Bose and Sony for a fraction of the price. Their stuff gets thousands of 5 star reviews, so many people like them, even if some audio nerds don't.
