I absolutely have to believe that hundreds of times a day, across the country, that soccer mom gets home with the kids and everyone jumps in within minutes after the pool guy has just shocked the pool. But I get it, it's a "least common denominator" thing. (Pool tech in the biz since 1995).
And take a big breath and hold it before until you start adding and get about ten feet away before taking a new breath. Or wear a respirator. I learned the hard way.
The chlorine is probably really, really high and not safe or comfortable for swimmers. But if you use non-chlorine shock, you only need to wait 20 minutes.
@@jonathandeuire6962 I service STR and don’t have the opportunity to shock at night. I’ve always been told to wait an hour after shocking. Now I’m concerned for the guest.

We’ve been swimming an hr or less after adding shock for years
😬😬
Oh wow
Oh yikes! The chlorine is probably really, really high. But if it's non-chlorine shock, that's okay.
@@SwimUniversity won’t be doing that again..
Most public pools shock the crap out of the pool the morning before guests arrive.

I pure one galón muriatic acid every week for 20000 galón water after 2hrs I check still low do I need to add more please respond thank you 🙏
Muriatic acid reduces pH, so that's why it's low
3:53 well primed
Thank you☆
You're welcome 😊
Just poured 10 gallons of liquid chlorine in to a 30000 gallon pool because of algae should I worry about anything
🤣
Retest your levels after it's sat overnight
most important question not answered : HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR FLOCULANT TO HAVE DONE IT:S WORK
It's on the bottle of flocculant. Usually the water needs to sit undisturbed overnight or up to 24 hours.
@@SwimUniversity thanks, that actually helps.
Always wear a mask and eye goggles and extra long gloves when adding muriatic acid

100%. We have a whole video just on adding it safely because it's so intense: ua-cam.com/video/WqWvL2Bctig/v-deo.html
@@SwimUniversity Thanks very helpful video I just commented on it
How to shock a pool and tell the guest to wait 8 hrs?

Shock at night. Or during the week. We do ours Thursday nights
