What type of chlorine do i add to a pool with well water? I added shock treatment and i may have added too much , it turned it brown, it is now getting clearer finally but what chlorine do i use now to maintain it clean/clear?
Stabilizer is basically cyanuric acid. When added to your pool water, it acts as a sunblock for your chlorine. It slows down the rate at which the chlorine will dissipate from the sun. But if you add too much stabilizer, it will slow down the chlorine too much and prevent it from doing its job.
I use 1 chlorine tab in my skimmer per week, sometimes every 6 days. My levels are always perfect and no issues whatsoever. Why do you use 2 to 3? I have a 10,000 gallon pool too btw
Hi. I tested my water using the kit with the two liquids one red and one yellow. The yellow I believe says OTO. Anyway, the red one is for PH and it tests perfectly fine BUT the yellow (OTO) for CL test is way of the scale. The color after 5 drops is like a wine RED. I stopped adding chlorine more than two weeks ago and it is still red. The pool water is clear and not cloudy.
I bought 3 8nch chlorine tablet at Walmart but I realized the dispenser is too small is it ok to cut the 3 inch pucks in half Walmart will not take them back even though the bags are sealed not used thank you
From experience, do not mix chlorine types. Mix one, put it in the pool and go to the next. Mixed shock and another type and caused a huge explosion. Won’t make that mistake again.
The biggest risk is definitely when pumps turn off. But they can also dissolve faster in the skimmer, which isn't great, and the gas can erode the skimmer lid.
The tablets sitting in contact with the skimmer basket (which is often plastic) will damage it over time. You could have a catastrophic failure of the basket which means bits of plastic in your intake pipes.

Hmm, that's odd! Are you seeing anything on this page? www.swimuniversity.com/pool-care-cheat-sheet/
@@SwimUniversity Same here, the download button doesn't do anything (even after uBlock desabled)
For automatic chlorinator, inline or offline better? Pentair rainbow or Hayward CL? thanks!
Honestly, whichever one you can install! And both of those brands are good.
Once you use a measuring cup for granules once washed is it safe for other home uses or is it now toxic for food?
I’d buy a cheap dollar tree one designated for pool use :) to be on the safe side!

What is pool stabilizer? Do you use is w a salt pool? My chlorine is not staying in my salt pool? Do I need a stabilizer?

Pool water temperatures fluctuating, Arizona meets summer of 2023 hold my beer 🏜☀️🌡🥵

Can i put granules while there are tablets in the pool?
As long as it's dichlor and NOT calcium hypochlorite.

It might be worth grabbing a cheap package of test strips to see what they say about your chlorine

Oh yikes! Yeah, never mix two chemicals together
Go with a salt water chlorine generator and you never have to add chlorine again. However you might have to add muiratic acid
So worth it just for the fact that you never have to buy chlorine again!
Pays for itself after 10 years. Yeah no thanks
Can I add a bag of weekly shock directly into the skimmer if I don’t have a chlorinator?
Add around the perimeter. Chlorine and shock is the same thing
So..., if your pump is running 24/7, adding tables to your skimmer ISN'T that bad? Asking for a friend.

Then, don't do that, then?
