I actually think it makes sense, that is a good way to keep the crowds under control as much as possible without implementing something like reservation required. As an out of state passholder i was gonna wait as long as possible to plan my trips because of how crowded this park is going to be so I'm glad to hear it

It would appear from your news that Universal have found a slick way of making everyone pay a higher price to visit Epic. If it is successful, imagine other companies doing the same thing, such as you can't buy a burger unless you buy fries, or maybe Disney will only sell tickets for there parks but that includes food. This is just a way of charging massive prices to visit a theme park that may or may not have amazing rides. If it isn't as great as you are predicting then why cash in so quickly on its launch. If it is going to be so amazing why not price it the same as others to let everyone pass the word on that it is worth a visit. I think maybe this park may not have the rides as amazing as you may think. Hence Universal are going to cash in as much as possible before the word gets out. This has happened with new movies, everyone rushes to see it because of the hype, then once its released word slips out it is not as good as expected. I know many people who saw Barbie felt this way. Why over price something if you still want people to come and buy it, unless?

@@lucasd6880 Universal has never had a park with such a demand on a similar level to magic kingdom or disneyland. This is the shiny new toy people will want to check out. A reasonable way to do it is similar to what disney does. Sell individual day tickets, but limit how many tickets can be sold for a given day. That way it mitigates overcrowding and bottlenecking. It also allows universal to practice managing the capacity for this new park. And once they've gotten better at managing capacity, they can allow more and more people in on a given day. No matter what they do, there will be people that are upset, and you'll start to see them make some of the same moves that disney does when you have a park in such high demand.

@@metallicnole4514 Maybe for locals who might be burnt out going to the same parks all the time. For people who visit from other states (or countries) seeing all the parks is important regardless of the newest park IMO. When IOA opened we spent just as much time at Universal when visiting. I think it's a smart marketing decision also which will encourage people to plan their whole vacation at Universal vs spending 1-2 days at Epic and then jumping to Disney or Sea World for other days.

The ticket sale proposal makes sense honestly. Helps to spread out the crowds. But, kind of stinks for annual pass holders for Studios/IOA… you have to buy a multi-day ticket for parks you’re already paying for if you want to go to Epic Universe… hoping future announcements include other options for AP’s. And, I’m really, REALLY hoping that changing Sapphire Falls to be in the tier that includes Express Pass doesn’t happen… it’s nice having an option to have a nicer hotel experience and not have to pay the premium for express passes if you do not want them.

  • @cdpa4d

Right-or hopefully doesn’t mean Sapphire Falls bumps up to $500/night. I do love the resort and had the opportunity to stay at that one and Portofino with family on the same trip-but I personally can’t afford that price tag, so I will be a bit broken hearted as I was very much looking forward to going to sapphire with my hubby some day as he didn’t get to join that family trip. I feel like this whole Epic prospect, though wildly exciting and inspiring, is one long season of trepidation that universal might become disney (in affordability) when all is said and done. I truly hope they understand Disney crowds are dropping bc they bled their audience dry…. We are HAPPY to spend our discretionary budgets with theme parks, but not all of us have the ability to increase the discretionary spending, and most have had to cut it back severely these last few years. 🤞🏻

We all know EU is going to be a grand slam and while yes of course I would want more than one day in there and that’s the point! Universal is doing a phenomenal job because while we might be a little disappointed in this news we know it’s going to be worth it to go back for another visit and Universal knows this as well. Deep down this just doesn’t bother me that much because I feel that we will get our moneys worth at EU.

I've booked reservations for mid October for myself, daughter and 2 grandsons at the Terra Luna. We wanted tickets for 1 day in US 2 days in IOA and 2 days in Epic but now hearing this I don't know how it will work. I am not interested in any days in Volcano Bay and we really wanted Epic for 2 days with and express pass but looks like they won't even be offering express passes either for Epic. So 1 day with no express pass is simply not going to be enough to experience even half of that park since the lines are likely to be 3 hours or more long with no express pass.

Epic is gonna open at a time the country is not running full steam economically so although it will be very busy it won't be filling up to capacity that often maybe holiday weekends.I need to find out about APs right away,I feel an Epic only AP is not a good idea, why would Universal want you to just go to that park, you need people to continue going to the other parks, just continue doing the 2 park,Universal and Islands pass,a 3 park pass including Volcano and only offer Epic with a 4 park pass that Shirley won't be cheap,to me that seems the best option, look at Disney parks when Pirate and Pixie passes are blocked out, they're empty, people don't have the money to spend nearly a grand on one pass, getting an AP to this park won't come chesp.
