I think the Chu is an overall better “all round” IEM than the Wan’Er Original because it has a little more detail on the top end. That’s the one I would go with. I have both zeros, the blue and red. Planning on doing a comparison video between them.
I’m not a competitive gamer. But according to gamers that I know and listen to, a bit of extra treble energy is preferred, in which case, the Chu:2 might be better for gaming.

@@boyseverino528 100%! Agree. The Gate is only disappointing if you look at it as a Hola replacement. It’s a solid budget IEM choice overall. Happy you’re enjoying yours.
I bought and returned them. I didn't like the sound. In all fairness I didn't keep them long enough for them to be broken in due to my inexperience at the time. Maybe I will give them another try. Thanks for the storage advice as it's VERY humid where I live. Are there similarities in how the Chu 2 and the Aria 2 sound?
Overall, The Chu:2 are similar to the Original Aria. The Chu:2 have a little extra sub-bass and a bit more energy in the upper mids. The OG Aria are like a chilled out Chu:2. Aria also has more upper treble. Some people like that, others don’t.
Just an opinion at different angle. - a bit of elaboration coming up. As you said, Chu 2 does not excel in any particular aspect. That reminds me of another IEM - Jade Audio JD1. Not saying any of both sounded bad, in fact both of them are actually good. Just like you said, if anyone don't have any particular sound they are pursuing, i think aside from Chu 2, JD1 is also a good suggestion (but must get Type-C connector). Type-C connector comes with a DAC(16bit) which has 5 sound preset. Those who are newly getting into this rabbit hole can use those presets as a reference to look for other IEM(s) which cater to their preference(s). I have watched quite a few reviews for JD1, and personally sees those reviews as being too harsh on JD1. Let say Chu 2 is on CLEAR sound, JD1 is on 'darker' side i would say - if that make sense. i am trying to say they don't sound similar to each other and yet i believe both are good for beginners. Both also priced pretty similarly ~ USD16-19 With that being said, when we consider the price.. A BEGINNER can actually get 2(or 3) different IEMs for the price of 1x Chu 2 or JD1. This is where things can get tricky. Do we go for ONE pair of Chu 2/JD1 or TWO(or THREE) OTHER different pairs. For example.. (all on ALI) KZ EDX Pro(USD5) + KZ ZVX(USD7) + KZ D-Fi(USD7) = USD19 QKZ xHBB(USD8) + KZ ZST(USD8) = USD16 None of these sounded the same.
Thanks for the comment! I haven’t tried the JD1, or any FiiO IEM for that matter. I’ll try to get my hands on one. You make an excellent point about being able to snatch up 2-3 cheaper pairs and get different sounds. I would argue that while all the KZs sound slightly different from one another, to my ears they’re the same “flavor” of the classic KZ V-shaped signature. If I had to pick one, I’d go with the EDC Pro at $8. The QKZ x HBB is fantastic and I have a video on it coming very soon. Grab it to represent the warm tuning, also $8. Then for bright/neutral or bright… the only thing I can think of is the original Moondrop Quarks. They used to be around $9. So yeah, a pretty good spread of tunings for $25. Of course, you could always use EQ to try out new tunings on your existing sets. In that case maybe a more neutral set with a high quality driver would be better. There are tons of great options. Thanks again for your comment.
I’ve seen people do that! It’s super cool! I’ve modded headphones before but not IEMs. My modding experience with IEMs extends to adding foam and tuning filters.

I’m not a competitive gamer. But according to gamers that I know and listen to, a bit of extra treble energy is preferred, in which case, the Chu:2 might be better for gaming.
@@AudioAmigoReviews ok thank you so much for ur advice I'm new to iems so im a bit confused on what to buy for a budget iem for gaming I'm considering buying zero:2 or cca cra or chu:2
@@mxl3k971 I know a lot of gaming channels say the Truthear Zero Blue is the best for gaming under $50. In terms of treble tuning, the Simgot EW100P is probably the closest at this price range. Just be aware that you’ll be missing some bass response compared to the others.
7hz zero/zero 2 when?
@@griin6 In about 2 weeks. I bought some sets for review and they’re fairly new so I want to get reviews for people to check them out before they buy.
@@AudioAmigoReviewswaiting for zero2 vs chu2 battle.. Earlier the better. Want to buy one in 2-3days
Also, ziigaat nuo is a worthy budget IEM to these
@@greensoulsGB all three are great. The Zero/Zero2 review is scheduled for this week. I’ll drop the schedule in a community post later today. Nuo will have to come later
@@AudioAmigoReviews Still waiting for ur zero2 review and segment comparisons! ⏳⏱️🕛⏰
Nice review as always.. had the chu2 as it was released but i dunno i never enjoyed it. Maybe its just me.. the tuning lacks character to make it distinct.
Totally get that! It’s the vanilla ice cream tuning. :)
@AudioAmigoReviews the gate now sounds different after a hours of burn in.. and I kinda like it already.. now I understand why they made this . This was never a Hola replacement its a different tuning perhaps for a different market.
@@AudioAmigoReviews Thank you so much!
Just an opinion at different angle. - a bit of elaboration coming up.
As you said, Chu 2 does not excel in any particular aspect.
That reminds me of another IEM - Jade Audio JD1.
Not saying any of both sounded bad, in fact both of them are actually good.
Just like you said, if anyone don't have any particular sound they are pursuing,
i think aside from Chu 2, JD1 is also a good suggestion (but must get Type-C connector).
Both also priced pretty similarly ~ USD16-19
With that being said, when we consider the price..
A BEGINNER can actually get 2(or 3) different IEMs for the price of 1x Chu 2 or JD1.
This is where things can get tricky.
Do we go for ONE pair of Chu 2/JD1 or TWO(or THREE) OTHER different pairs.
For example.. (all on ALI)
KZ EDX Pro(USD5) + KZ ZVX(USD7) + KZ D-Fi(USD7) = USD19
QKZ xHBB(USD8) + KZ ZST(USD8) = USD16
None of these sounded the same.
@@AudioAmigoReviews You also have elaborated commendable points.
i appreciate that as well.
I would get the mk1 Chu and do a mmcx mod
I’ve seen people do that! It’s super cool! I’ve modded headphones before but not IEMs. My modding experience with IEMs extends to adding foam and tuning filters.
