This poor sailboat we just happened to be in the right place at the right time .... and Matt help saved the boat from further damage. The wind was really blowing! What kind of exciting crashes have you experienced? Think back to that feeling when the adrenaline gets flowing! 😮
Been in a few on the water “interactions”. Saddest was when racing a brand new Frers 39 on a Buoy Race. Luckily, Owner was at the helm. Rounding a buoy we collided with another boat and smashed the bow pulpit. Not bad we thought. The next race I am checking mast bend as the headsail and mainsail just didn’t shape right. I looked up the mast to see a kink at the lowest spreader! Boat never sailed that whole Summer. I could back a 24’-44’ racing boats into a slip solo very confidently but, I always asked for help if I thought I needed it. You always have to be willing to abort an attempt, or two or three! Ha, ha. Be well.
I owned a small waterfront restaurant for 35 years. I always gave military people a large discount. The Coast Guard boat crews came in most everyday for lunch or dinner. They would bring their families when off duty. I did the same for the owner of the boatyard and his staff who take care of my boat. It was reciprocated. They do mobile service much like you do.
I had a problem finding the proper size cooling system O-ring for my 750i that was leaking. It came down to finding the right diameter, but the wrong thickness-only a 2mm and 4mm available and I needed 3mm thickness. I chucked up a piece of round stock on my 9" South Bend metal lathe, put the O-ring on the round stock, mounted a razor blade in the tool holder and shaved off 1 mm from the O-ring. It never leaked again. My Grandpa's 1940's vintage lathe from his machine shop has proven useful many times!
Right on you got it …. And over the years we’ve had a few ask us to reconsider! But, once you show us who you really are we aren’t interested… life is too short! We even had a Marina call us cause a boat was sinking we told them we couldn’t help!
Another quick question, I had commented on changing belts on mains and gens and had said something about sending me whatever manuals or what have you for me to look at , and I may had missed it? Thanks again, you guys are the best!
@@WillFixThat thanks and never mind, I’ll look them up when needed, u had just said something about sending me particular manuals on “ hot to” change belts, but know you are extremely busy, and apologies again, just trying to feed off of all your experience when issues arise? Have a great evening!
Get your hands on an o-ring making kit ..get bulk stock of multiple diameter material and cut to size and follow gluing procedures.....kit will come with jig to ensure proper angled cut for more surface area for gluing
I was trying to dock our 64 foot single engine houseboat in our 70 foot covered slip on Dale Hollow (ky) during high wind. I decided to wait but a neighbor convinced me to try. When the boat started going sideways he yelled ‘hit your thruster!’. Problem was I didn’t have one. Not fun.
JIC, metric o-ring, my best guess, best purchase o-ring kits , either usa standard, or metric, both. more over, I just posted about heat, my guess those hyd-valves / oil needs to be run through a cooler, a couple of them, Hydrostatic pumps / motors, do to the friction, in about 60 seconds with no coolant system will hit 600 degrees in a flash, I was a cat, shop foreman in the power train department, also we had and operated the Schroeder test bench. I would been incline to use the JIC fittings with out the orings, these are prone to failure, shrinkage. harden brittle, heat is the enemy. what is it three wire hose, or five wire hose, of course two hose.. I would measure the degree of danger according to the type hose required. so goes along with the brand type of fittings scary to me, being on a boat and to have a major blow out. it wasn't the elevator pumps testing that was ever an issue, but the high pressure small swash plate pumps, Exstream, blow a hard back seal no problem, cat finally discontinued that seal type. I'm sure some of these foreign made systems are top notch. that big black hose with the blue strip on it, is it suction, transfer line. in ban other video, the question was asked, over time the carcass hardens and becomes porous, heat does that hose in, generally pulling air in eating up the pumps. / motors.
Oh dang flat faceed o-ring fittings i think its better to have JIC hydraulic fittings just because less chances of the o-ring breaking while installing the line
5200! There Is a product that kills it . Used it 20 years ago to remove Avent on a 106. Capt spent 3hr got no where. I went to BOW and bought the product sprayed it on. 1 hrs later the the vent fell out. I think it was called {BREAK FREE ) NOT SURE.

Very generous of you to share! Love when it’s reciprocated!
I’m Tim! Thanks for the shout out! It was nice meeting you too!
Thanks Tim looking at this footage can’t believe you recognized me …. Hope you didn’t have a rough windy ride home! 🥴
The engine room in the Viking looked awesome!
Yup it’s a brand new Viking so it was still shiny!
Yeah wind is a factor for sure! Be safe and great episode WillFixThat team!👍👍
Yup was windy and once he hit … you know that adrenaline feeling kicked in and it was best just to get it in a slip! So he didn’t damage more.

As always thanks for the live real content!👍👍
Yup got lucky with this one … just happened to turn the corner from checking on one of our boats!

Hey thanks for hanging out & watching 👍
What was that hydraulic system for?
It controlled the davit , the windlass and the thrusters.

Sorry for silly question, but how do u know how much to tighten so o-rings don’t smash?
You can only tighten so much it will stop!
Ok thanks, just didn’t know if supposed to use the device that measures exact tightness pressure or whatever that’s called, thanks!
