Has this happened to you .... cleaning up someone else's mess when it comes to your work! You never WIN when it costs the customer twice or three times depending on the circumstances. We try to run from these kinds of jobs! In the end we are the hero but customer doesn't see it that way normally .... cause it hurt their pocketbook. Maybe you have some good tips for us.
Man you said it!!!. It is so hard to find a GOOD, TRUSTWORTHY boat mechanic anymore. I have been screwed so many times it crazy. If I move to Key West you will be my man...lol. Great work.
Appreciate you sharing and watching! There are still a lot of good mechanics… you just have to think about what we face daily! That’s why we share it here…. Think about it … it’s kind of enlightening! We are rarely surprised! But we do our best! These are TRUE stories not inflated or planned.
Usually, it has been my experience the customer is eating a little humble pie at the point they are calling someone else to fix a problem like that, but it not a good thing either way. That Honda sure has been keeping you busy.
Usually it's the owner/operator who eats a bit of humble pie when they have to call another shop in to fix a problem, but its not a good thing either way. That Honda O/B sure has been keeping you busy. I would change out that lower unit oil again after 25hrs to see if the shavings show up again.
Fixing up that whaler at 6:57 and see the sticker on the aft end, "Nauset Marine", which is a small dealership all the way up my way in Massachusetts. Too funny, small world!
Do you ever see the 55 Silent Yacht over at Perry docks? Still waiting on main and gen belt changes when you happen to get one, I have no clue? Keep up the great videos, you guys are the best!
@@WillFixThat when I was last there I saw a electric cat called a Silent Yacht down at the docks at Perry Hotel, if not that, I’d like to see at some point if u ever do a belt change on a main diesel engine or a generator, so I don’t make any mistakes, I’ve learned so much from you guys, always appreciated!
I haven’t seen that yacht at the docks! I’ll send you our invoice for learning 😂 Diesels & gens we work on both often but they are normally in tight spots.
Feeling bad for you …. Some repairs unfortunately can turn grueling out biggest loss was years ago for an insurance company $13k. But we might have another one coming up we will see 😭 I’m sure Matt will touch on it.
customer had 8v92 replaced in truck, paid big bucks, smoking bad, brought it to my shop, smoking on port side, removed air box covers and you could pick out the bits of piston rings with your fingers, all in cost 15,000.00, customer lost his mind. this was in early 80's today would be who knows, just be aware of used shit, people just want to screw you, take care my friend

@@smallblocksadventures6008 oh darn sorry we missed you!
I do my own work so I haven't had to clean up someone else's mess, however I have cleaned up more than a few of my own messes!
Love this so true! Boy can we make mess!

I wish you guys were closer to the Gulfcoast area
Sorry we are a ways away but if you need a vacay further south come see us! 🤣
I bought the first house built on Little Torch Key after Irma in 2018. Spent the last 6 years fixing 50 years of post hurricane repairs 🏝🧜♂️🙁
Yikes that stinks!
We had stringers pop up on a key west ,,,, guy brought it to me and it was so bad we had a $25,000.00 mess up
Omg that sounds terrible!

Great idea about checking in 25 hours.

Yup small world for sure!
When the balance line breaks between the two waste tanks because somebody didn’t use the proper hose
I don’t do black water.
Good morning, always good to see your videos. Taking my SeaRay 400 SB into dry dock on 4/22 for preseason checkout. Hope for the best. 😜
Fingers crossed 🤞 you’ll have a smooth dry dock with minimal work! Thanks for sharing John.
Like the info and the attitude.....😂
Thanks we try to share our experiences! Good, bad & ugly!

Omg 😱 sounds terrible! Agree about used stuff or not OEM cover you arse for sure 👍
The worst job I had to do was replace and rebuild an engine after another mechanic "rebuilt" the engine. All they did was repaint it
Yup those are sheety jobs!
@@WillFixThat very much so
👍👍
How’d we do fatcat?
