  • This video will show you step-by-step the procedure for replacing the starter motor for a Acura 3.2L V6 TL ('99 - '06), CL ('07 - '03) and Honda Accord ('98 - '07). The procedure is relatively straight forward. The most difficult task is removal of the bottom two bolts that holds the battery base plate. You can either get to it through the wheel well or from the engine compartment. I did it from the engine compartment.

    Thanks for taking the time to show a clear video detailing this job! This video made the task so much easier! My battery bracket had about 10 different bolts tying it down so I decided to keep it in and work around it, which I think saved me some time. Getting at that 17mm bolt on the bottom was harder with that bracket in place, but worth not having to remove the bracket imo.

    Ok...I’m doing replace this week! 😬 this is a great video! Thank you 😊. The new starter that I have looks like one of the washers are cracked and the nut is loose on the same area you said you were going to use the “factory bolt” with the built in washer. Should I take the starter back to the store?

    • @hardlymovingpro
      @hardlymovingpro  5 років тому +1

      It wouldn't hurt to have the store check out the condition of the replacement starter.

      I DID IT! Thank you so much for this video. The parts store checked and the starter and everything was great. The bottom bolt was a bit difficult. But the car starts with no problems!! 😅

      The power tools are battery driven electric 3/8 and 1/2" impact drivers make by Milwaukee Tools. The 3/8" is part of the M12 series; the 1/2" part of the M18 series. The long handle reversible ratchet wrench is made by Mountain Tools. The only other unique tool is the needle nose pliers. If you want the Amazon links to the tools, let me know.

    I have quick question I just did my starter and 4 days later it failed. Now people telling me it's cause I didn't have starter shims and that the gear spun and damaged my flywheel is this really a thing? I didn't get any shims with the new starter and there wasn't any with the old one I took out

    • @hardlymovingpro
      @hardlymovingpro  Місяць тому +1

      What shims? Just move the starter from the box and bolt to the engine.

    Will this video help me replace my starter on my 2001 CL Type-S? I replaced my battery once and this video looks similar to my car, but noticed the desc. said for 03's-07's

    • @hardlymovingpro

      If a V6 Engine in the CL, procedure should be nearly identical. Also, if you can see the starter after the battery has been removed, your almost half way there.

      Everything turns on when it comes to the electricity like the radio and headlights. I have not replaced the starter. I've been trying to see if its a fuse, wiring, or fuel pump problem before replacing the starter. It cranks but no power.

      @@hardlymovingpro so this video isn’t for a 1996 Acura TL 3.2? I can’t find ANYTHING online on how to replace a starter for a 96 Acura TL 3.2. This is the only video that came up for a 96.
