    I dont understand why is is every time i go to a blues video thees somebody always debating about whose the best. Thats not what the blues is about. Hell a lot of these guys you spend all of your breath arguing over were good friends. Why cant we just lay back, crack open a cold one and enjoy these guitar masters in action?

    I used to see Albert King all the time in a tiny little club called the Keystone in Berkeley Ca. He was just like that. Playing up a storm. But cool as a cat, with a pipe in his mouth. Totally in control.

    Blues is the truest form of music there is, as they deal with the tough issues in life we all face, and the artists who play them sing and play from the heart, not the mind

    @onlyjoetee Mick Taylor lets his playing speak for itself, if you think it is boring and dull, you need to get a new pair of ears.
    He is a very diverse and talented musician, his vibrato reeks of pure emotion. His playing has a certain fluidity to it.
    He knows how to repeat a phrase, but some how accenuate it differently each time. A skill necessary for blues music (as there aren't alot of notes to work with in 12 bars, and 3 chords), and a skill that few musicians ever truly master.

    Mayall in the 60s had Clapton as the guitar player, but what really made the band was the harp (harmonica) used in those blues songs. Clapton played with Sonny Williamson and the Yardbirds too. Greatest harp possible ever, 3 guitar legends Page, Beck, Clapton played with the Yardbirds.

    My son´s English Bull Terrier got loose from a house he was visiting in Paradise Valley in Montana. We both went to this service road at the end of a long driveway and he went one way and I went the other. Just then, a pickup truck drove up, and John Meyer was behind the wheel, and, Chico, the Bull Terrier was in the passenger seat. He asked us if we´d lost a dog and we were very happy to tell him yes. Neither of us had the slightest clue who he was, and I offered to give him some money. He declined the cash and introduced himself, said he was new to the neighborhood and was glad he could help. God bless him. My son would have just about have to go to a hospital and be put in an induced coma if something bad happened to that dog. John Meyer must have been directed by the hand of God himself to have arrived at that completely out of the way place and at that very moment to save my son´s dog.

    @huubramler Albert King himself has always said that he wants younger players to come forward and take room. Taylor had a great blues solo going, lovely dynamics and feeling, so he kept going to reach the crescendo. At the jam in the end of this show, you can clearly see Albert King watching Taylor and being very impressed. And when you play a guitar solo like this on stage, you are completely in your own world. Two legendary guitar players btw, thanks for the video srvfan79.

  • @huubramler
    @huubramler 12 років тому +3

    I don't wanna say that Mick Taylor's solo was bad (actually, it was kinda good), but Albert King clearly insisted a guitar conversation, and when King does that, you don't ignore him and keep playing your own solo's!!

    met Albert in 1980 after a show, in a laundry mat talked with him about 30 minutes nice man. H esaid at the filmore west Jimi Hendrix gave him a joint laced with heroin, he said he got so high he had to put ice between his arm and his legs, after that he swore off drugs for good . The way he told the story was quiet animated! Clay Flinchum
