Nice guide Mr S. Maybe worth mentioning that the PCSX2 Wiki has a per game guide of work arounds for any emulator issues, probably a first port of call if you run into problems on a particular game. Also some of these work arounds are relevant to AetherSX2.

When I built my first gaming PC back in 2020 emulation was one of the first things I tried out since all the craptops I bought were never powerful enough to run PS2 games. Emulation is in my opinion one of the greatest features about Gaming on PC.

Don't worry homie, it's a lot easier than it seems. If you have win rar you can skip the 7zip part entirely. As for the games, there are great places online to download them (just make sure you've owned them before 😉)

It’s a legality, you cannot legally reproduce and distribute bios.
All it takes is to search bios as he hints and every pop up is a download bro

Some advice here: Set Affinity Control on the Emulation menu to VU - GS - EE. You might get extra performance with this one, especially for some games that will slowdown for a bit.

As with all other settings, the settings of Affinity Control varies depending on the computerized characters interaction in the video game that isn't your own character

if your game runs slow on your old quad core CPU tick the option which says "GPU pallete conversion" under Graphics > rendering

I have a PS2 and I never once thought about dumping my own Bios since it seems like too much of an effort lol Same with my other consoles as well

i had pcsx2 stable release 1.6.x and it was looking totally different UI than what you were displaying. I went out and grabbed 1.7.x nightly release and it had the UI you were demo-ing and i love the automapping controls (one of the hurdles i've had is P1 & P2 controls not working or overlapping each other etc). but i did the automap for each controller and right out of the gate it worked great on the first title i tried anyway. Thanks for the vid.
yeah i made the same mistake and was overwhelmed. finally saw a guide and saw it was nightly being used and was super refreshing. the ps1 emulator has the same style ui so its really cool you can jump to either emulator and nothing really changes.
I was playing smackdown here comes the pain , HHH vs Brock Lesnar last man standing match and believe it or not it was 2 hour match (not even hard mode) I had to deliver 20 pedigree to win the match, they really did good job in this game and it's one of my favorite game.

@@ghileskr5394 i can show you a great folder with bioses but i cant seem to find it you'll need direct acces to the folder i have them lol but its great over 20 bioses i think

PCSX2 emulator is the greatest. I do find the controller setup part a bit tricky, the older version of PCSX2 worked so much better with my Xbox 360 controller.

Thank you for making this video. I'm PC illiterate, and just got into PC gaming. My one question is, how do I go about connecting a controller to the PC in order to map the buttons to it? Does it have to be an Xbox 360/One controller, or can be it any usb connectable controller? Playing on mouse and keyboard really hurts my hands, which has prevented me from actually going out and downloading the emulators that I want to download.
A wireless controller like an Xbox controller can be paired via bluetooth
@jeffreylove6415 right, but the reason I'm asking is because I genuinely despise how Xbox controllers feel in my hands. I don't like the layout, either. So, I was hoping to connect a (clearly superior) Ps4 or 5 controller.
@@Megidramon hey man you can connect it , then when you open pcsx in the controller menu you will match each button of the controller one by one, you can invert each stick individually etc. i only used those cheapest knockoff ps2-like usb controllers but on the reddit they said new controlers work too

This uses the latest nightly release at the time. Its a little different but it shouldnt be too hard. The only set up you really need to do is download the bios file, copy it into the bios folder, select the bios dor your region (it really doesnt even matter) then map your controller and select your game folder
You never explained where and how to get a bios file. What bios file? That's the whole reason I clicked on this video was to learn how to do that one step. Are you talking about the ROM that holds whatever game?

Just a tip, If you want crystal clear smoothed graphics you should go under internal resolution and set it to "4x Native" and turn on FXAA contrast sharpening to "sharpen and resize display resolution" you can also turn dithering to completely off to remove the muddy texture overlay, it looks absolutely amazing on my RTX laptop

hi, im really new to emulating ps2 games. when I tried to play it pcsx2 says this " PCSX2 requires a PS2 BIOS in order to run. For legal reasons, you *must* obtain a BIOS from an actual PS2 unit that you own (borrowing doesn't count)." what should I do?

I have an msi computer from 2022, and it was marketed as a "gaming computer", and I want to play "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater".
I would guess that a fairly modern gaming computer should be able to handle a game from 2004 fairly well.
Struggling with this, you cant get past the set up without a BIOS file to get to the bit you're on.

0:58 You don't need 7zip or any other compressing program anymore as off windows 10. tho I still prefer to use Winrar it's not needed since windows 10+ has an unpacking program when you rightclick on your file that you want to unpack.
