I just repurposed my old laptop for emulation and this could not come at a better time. I love that you are straight to the point and concise. Great stuff man - subscribed!
INCREDIBLE vid mate! I've been emulating for well over a decade and consider myself pretty clued up. But you've just turned me on to a whole bunch of stuff I'd never even heard of before. Thanks ever so much! You rock! 😎🤟
This channel is quickly becoming my favorite go to emulation channel. Thanks for not making drawn out videos. Getting straight to the point in easy to follow step by step instructions has made my retro life 1000% easier lol
There are many reasons to like UrCasualGamer. Subscribed to him as soon as watching. I like how he mentioned (in a roundabout way) that there are old schoolers that did have many emulators on their desktop before your retroarch's, retro gamestations, etc. Some like it that way, some don't, no control over that. @urcasualgamer keep at it, but don't burn yourself trying to put out content. Just keep making this quality content.
Video game emulators must be one of the greatest inventions humanity have ever created, if you are into video games. It allows us to play old video games that doesn't exist in the store anymore!
PCSX2 is hands down one of my favorite emulators for PC. Duckstation is also my favorite. I especially like that it has support for other controllers like the Dualshock 4 and the Dualsense. Since I don't have a Dolphin sensor bar, I've only ever played GameCube games on Dolphin but I do agree that it's a great emulator. I've actually tried Xemu which is another original Xbox emulator and it's decent but I know it's still a work in progress. For that I would just rather play those games on an actual Xbox.
I loved PCSX2 too, but after having so much problems with the Emulator bugging when configuring my controller, and having to d it over and over again, because he always looses it, when my Bluetooth Controler turns off, even when the Stick is still in it, I started to hate this Emulator.
@@AlryFireBlade im on the steam deck and i have not had any problems with any of the emulators i have installed so far surprisingly... even RPCS3 went pretty well... except for god of war 3 that game is just a whole different beast on it's own.

I'm seriously technologically challenged and didn't know anything about bios or 7-zip so I was just hitting wall after all before I found your videos. So thank you again, so much
Installed launchbox with retro arch yesterday, runs great. Decided a few weeks ago to sell off most of my retro collection. If I had a better knowledge of emulation in the past would have sold it off long time ago. Good video.
This is super helpful since there’s so many emulators out there now it can be hard to figure out which is “best.” What would make this even better though is if you could explain why each was chosen. For example why Redream over flycast or yuzu over ryujinx, etc?
For years i was mac only so was using openemu on my macbook still do as it has so many emulators and features on there so tjat is the goat in my eyes 👌🏾 but last year i bought a gaming laptop so now have new version of pcsx2 which is awesome also just downloaded rspc3 which blows my mind ! Shout out to RPCS3 for letting me enjoy Diablo 3 on a PC with controller support and couch co-op..something Blizzard slapped us PC users in the face with over the years by never allowing those two features on the PC version..
Rpcs3 is pretty rocky ATM, I had to go through a lot of hoops n loops just to get metal gear solid 4 running. And even then the game has some problems, hoping there's a massive patch to fix that emulator
There are, don't correct me, forks which are made and configured just for a single game to run, I don't know if there are any for MGS4 but it's still worth searching.
@@flintfrommother3gaming I did hear about having to mess with certain settings and then it would fix the issue with some games, but I never bothered with it.

it sucks that Sega discontinued the Dreamcast. The bright side is that, Sega is still making games, they're just not as underrated like they use to. & they're not making the right decisions for the fans. But seems like they're following back to the right path with Sonic Frontier.😅
@PBBTV Yup, it sure was. That's why they moved these 2 games like Sega GT & Jet Set Radio exclusively to the Xbox later on. & Shenmue 2 was a cross gen game. It was on Sega Dreamcast & Xbox. I guess you can count the Xbox Series X|S is the Dreamcast 5, basically. Also let's not forget. Microsoft also did helped Sega with the Saturn console.
@PBBTV Nah i don't think Microsoft helped Sony with PlayStation. But when it comes to Shenmue moving to other plaftorms, That's when it get's weird. It never was originally on PlayStation. Not until they did the resmaster on PS4. It didn't start offically moving to the PlayStation port until they did Shenmue 3
I'm building my own arcade cabinet using pi4b with retro arch. It was hard to figure out all the cores, BIOS and everything. I made a sweet chart that broke down each system with the proper config needed. Also the N64 was a hard one to do as each game sometimes has different types of configs. Don't get me started on configuring the controllers mouhahahahah. That was a pain on it's own configuring Bluetooth via Linux. took me over 1 year to get the software config how I wanted it with the art, music and everything. Now i just need to build the arcade cabinet itself.
I think you should have talked about Duckstation and CXBXR like you did with PCSX2 and Xenia, and should also have included PPSSPP (Sony PSP Emulator) amd m-GBA (Nintendo Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance emulator) but other than these, thanks for this great video demonstrating the best emulators for widely known platforms.

Thank you for this video, but I have a few questions, that I deem very important, I have Windows 11, a Lenovo Legion, it came with (X-Box) already installed, so with this will I still need to install an Emulator in order to play games for fun or to be able to play these games in my job? Right now, I have my X-Box game ware in the on position, should I keep it there? Also I have never actually used it, mainly because I have no idea as to even get it started, what is required in order to get this X-box started, it is so very confusing o me, Please help.
You don't need a dolphin bar anymore to run wiimotes on Dolphin. But you do need the wiimotes and a sensor bar that works (I have a non-dolphin bar battery sensor bar). Apparently, motion plus is not well supported on either. Also, board is supposedly also supported but I haven't tested that yet.
Bless the people who work on emulation and preserving this art that companies most time forget
best download as much as you can before it'll all get banned and become illegal and sites down and whatnot.... Nintendo to thank for.

Retroarch is more of a front-end than an actual emulator, but I got what you meant. I love PPSSPP, it is definitely one of the better built emulators.
What do you mean by front end?

I will say I prefer Ryujinx to Yuzu for performance and accuracy, but 2022 was an incredible year for both in terms of progress. Nice recap!
So Ryujinx would be better on a lower spec PC ?
Both will work with lower specs, but I still recommend having a graphics card for a decent experience.
Me too
Ryujin sucks on steam deck
It varies game to game really. Xenoblade 1 plays better on Ryujinc but 2 is better on YuZu.

Thanks for the insight! As a novice it’s nice to have some advice to be able to play the classics without risking malware. Much gratitude
Great video man, keep it up!
Nice video! My top 5 emulators:
1. RetroArch
2. PPSSPP
3. WinUAE
4. MAME

What's going on man I been watching your videos for a min now getting all that emulator information because you explain everything the best!
Thank you for the support
I’ve been using XBSX2 and I LOVE it so far.
It's really unfortunate that desmume is still considered the best DS Emulator while Melonds completely outclasses it
Love it with The hacked phantom Hour Glass, on controller ✌️😉

Ryujinx is the one that needs the firmware, Yuzu runs fine without it and has for a long time now ^^
I recommend ppsspp super easy to set up and play
This! I can set it up on a 2012 potato phone in about 3 min. Super easy emulator!!
Indeed. My top few favorable emulators.

True. Around 1/3 of the PS3 games are not playable, and MGS4 is one of them. It might be a good idea to check the compatibility list beforehand.

Thanks for the list, I have RPCS3, Yuzu, RyujinX, Cemu, Zsnes (an old version that works with w10), NeoGeo, Dolphin and PCSX2 ^^
Changed zsnes for snesx9 cause zsnes can't keep aspect ratio in fullscreen (also, it's reputation of malware)
Wow, I had no idea Xenia had such low performance requirements. Never used it before. Dolphin and Redream are amazing. Btw, love the shirt!

@Damsen In 2023 I would consider 1050/1060 Low end for the most part, you can get a used 1060 for $60-$75.
@Damsen I agree 100%. They’re perfect emulator GPU’s and can run most anything 1080P PC wise 👌
@Damsen So am I chillin if I got a 3070?
@Damsen can run it on a 3gig doesnt need to be a 6 i run it on my kiddos pc... can get them pennys so no its not expensive
