I think 'Sir' is the best & most convenient way to address. 'Your honor' or 'Your lordship' creats undue pressure on the one saying it, also creating the gap of a class. Sir is comforting.

I'm an MBA , I love law and have passion about legal system , from your videos and shorts/reels . This confusion regarding addressing judges was in my mind from many years right from my childhood when I started reading newspapers. Thank you. Keep it up madam and if possible start teaching law to interested ones via UA-cam and make prolonged classes instead of 3-5 minutes.

Supreme courts and high courts you can use your honor/honorable court. Regional and subordinate courts you can use sir or regional respectable terms.

I am in allahabad high court.. Here nobody can use any other salutation except your lordship.. It depends on..each and every judges palate..what he wants to listen. Once one reaches at this much level..he wants salutation by bending the slaves at 90 degree

1.Plaintiff - person whose civil rights has been infringed and hence he/she is instituting a suit. 2. Defendant - Person filing a WS in response to the above suit. 3. Appellant- Of the above 2 any 1 can be it, depends upon who feels aggrieved by the judgment/order/decree passed in the OS. 4. Complainant - A person instituting a suit particularly in a tribunal hence in place of No. 1 = Complainant and in place of No. 2 = Respondent. I am not sure about criminal cases' terminology so She(UA-camr) may tell that better.
