    I hate going to a listing and the “x small” is always out of stock and it was the $9.99 product and then the rest are $29.99 and up and in stock. I immediately click away and don’t buy from them. I think it’s click bait and I have no respect for those type of sellers.

    The fake lower pricing is scummy.
    The majority of people ARE price driven...even if you have better designs, customers will almost always buy based on price. It's what people have been conditioned to do, sadly.

      Etsy has structured its purchasing experience from a list of favors. If price is a factor, then they are going to lead to the side of the cheapest item, from their favorite list when they make a decision. It’s not always appropriate for sure. Especially if you’re selling something like a party supplies, wear price is a factor then this is not the best strategy. But products that this is appropriate for is products that they tend to not compare in regards to price, but they like a certain design over the other. A lot of retail stores do this, they’ll actually not put the price tag on the product, and would rather have customers think about the price after they made decision whether that product is right for them.
