Hello Heather! I literally just watched your video, made price adjustments, activated a sale, and then made my very 1st sale in less than an hour by utilizing your advice! I'm so excited! Thank you so much for sharing such helpful tips and insights! I love your videos!
Hey Heather I have had my shop open for over 2 months now. I have only had 2 sales on my shop. One was a friend and the other myself. Lol. I have watched so many videos and done so much research to increase my traffic. I’ve reached out to so many UA-camrs for help. I’m not sure why my shop is not growing.
So I was wondering on how you said about if you are having a %15 sale u would just raise your prices that much but if someone who liked an item in your store and they get a notice about the sale aren’t they going to see you just raised the price the sale amount and then been unhappy?
Hi Heather, I really enjoyed your video and appreciate the help. You talk about having a 15% off sale, but can you show us how to do this on Esty? It would be of benefit to newbies like me.
Hi There! I love your videos and straightforward advice! I’m a digital marketer who is age 60 and looking to build my retirement gig. In the very beginning stages of planning my business now, but hope to be up and running in the first quarter of 2023.
I opened our store late January 2023 and only have 17 sales. I have tried sales a bit but have been planning a routine sales strategy so when your video from a year ago popped up in my feed today the timing was perfect! You covered the major questions I had about how to execute the sales strategy so I’m now feeling optimistic that this strategy will work. Thank you!
I ran a 50% "end of summer" sale for the whole month of August and didn't get a single sale😭, even though my products are less than 2 dollars when on sale. I guess it still depends on your marketing and how competitive the niche is...
This is the best Etsy advice I’ve gotten on Etsy period. Thank you so much for your completely honest and helpful video, lots of other UA-cam videos on the subject are so scammy, but you’re the real deal!!!! Thank you!!!!
I've been on Etsy since the summer of this year and im differently going to give this a try and fingers are crossed that this will help turn views and visits into sales.... Thank you so much for the tip.
thank you for tge tip. But customers can see your price all the time so they can tell you increased the original price then offer discount...how would they feel about that? They are not silly...
Hi Heather! I just found your channel, and am so glad I did. Your sale tip totally makes sense. I’ve heard others say not to utilize sales, but I am going to try it out.👍🏻I’m off to my Etsy shop, and then back to watch more of your videos.💕I just subscribed so I won’t miss out on more great ideas from you.
Heather you're the best! Just want you to know this lol. I started my etsy shop cuz of you and with your help that was much needed. I appreciate you so much for this. I'm excited about it 😋
Thank you for sharing, but yes etsy has completely changed in less than 6 months time. The competition is going to kill us because we cannot compete with people selling for a few dollars. It gets to the point when you have to ask yourself am I on etsy or on a flea market site. Etsy is still my fav but I started a wedpage because we have more control over our prices
Hello! I am so glad I stumbled on to your channel. Everything you said just made so much sense, makes me feel silly. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. Honestly, I was researching how to just sell out my inventory and hanging it up. BUT I absolutely hate to admit defeat, all that does is give the people that do not have faith in me a good laugh at my expense. As my late Dad used to say " I be damned if that's so!" Thank You again. Now I am off to figure out how to run a sale!
Question... I just downloaded the planner to keep me motivated!! Do you recommend having a different store for every Niche? Or do you suggest having all of your designs in one store under different categories (niches)? I have identified 3 different niches and have all of my designs in one store at this point. Also, I appreciate your information so much!!! I just purchased the Blueprint and looking forward to digging in!!
I suggest keeping multiple niches in one store but multiple products for separate stores. For example, jewelry you would want to sell separately than a digital item store. Hopefully this helps! :)
Did you have any success with the Grand opening sale? I am a newbie who is about to launch my general store with 800+ listings. Grand opening sale is a great idea.
Hi ! Thank you for sharing all those informations with us, I am very grateful for this ! How many time per month can you have a sale ? I had 40% (!!) opening sale for my listings which is wall art photography prints and it hasn't been successful at all although it was for a week! Do you do shop review ? I would like to hear your opinion ! lots of love from Italy
Hi Heather I'm new to your channel and I'm leaning lots. Can you tell me how the one day sale would work on Shopify and the other question is wont your regular customers know that you upped the price and then put on a sale.?
I surprisingly got my first Etsy sale during the short window of time my daily sale (25%) had expired. Customer paid full price for the t-shirt. Luck perhaps but it did make me wonder how much it really matters!
Congrats. I have done everything from sales to discounts to markdowns and nothing works. I don't even get visits, so there are no sales. I have ran 10, 25, 30% off and still no sales. Now I do run them for weeks or a month, so that may be my problem. I am going to try the 24-48 hrs thing and see if it works.
Do you do listings with multiple products in a drop down that have the same design (ie. hoodie + T-shirt+ sweatshirt)? If so, do you find it better or worse than listing each product separately?
Heather why does Etsy not do a countdown on my sales? Never...and my sales dont work for me??? Please show in detail...maybe i am doing something wrong??? Thanks again. ❤
That's exactly what i was going to ask. When is the price increase by 15% applied ? Just before the sale or when the product is created ? I'm thinking customers would catch on to just raising the price the same percentage of the sale just before the sale hits.
It's actually illegal to raise your prices and then put them on sale so I wouldn't publicly announce that you're doing this. This is info from the FTC (Federal Trade Commission): "The FTC considers it deceptive to offer an item for sale at a higher price for a short period of time in order to support a claim that an item is discounted when the price is then lowered. This practice is prohibited." It's also illegal to have the same items on sale every single day.
4:30 That's a form of deceptive pricing and is illegal under the FTC. You're a small business on Etsy so I wouldn't worry too much about it, but technically this is evidence. If it were me I would delete this video and do some research on FTC guidelines on deceptive pricing.
Hello, I started my shop 3 weeks ago, I activated Etsy ads this week and I have some views and visit but no sales yet, do you think I should run a 15% sale probably I can get my first buyer? 😂
Thank you for this excellent idea! When I tried to implement it recently, Etsy would not allow a sale at 15%. The lowest possible threshold was 20% (a week ago). Am I doing something wrong? Also, do you mark up your prices before discounting them? (I thought I heard you say that originally but when I listened again, I didn't seem to hear that.)
If we do sales all the time then how do we make profit? Are you over inflating your prices by 15% or are you happy to lose 15% all the time due to the volume you're receiving order wise. I see shops permanently on sale so just wondering how it works especially if you're not make 30 sales aday?
If you're gonna run sales as part of your sales strategy you build the cost into your product. First, however, you need to figure out where your sale sweet spot is. Then permanently adjust your prices by that amount so when you run your sale your profit margin is where you want it.
Permanent sales are illegal I do believe. I almost want to say raising your item by the percent you’re going to take off is illegal as well. But fact check me on the second part.
Thank you Heather for your wonderful videos... Going through them all!! Just curious, how do you run a sale when selling printify items? do you increase the price in printify and re-upload? or, simply increase price in etsy to offset the sale discount? thanks so much :)
Hi I want to sell beard products on Etsy and I have 5 different scents with different scent names but the same company just different names of the different scents….Should I list all 5 seperately or list 1 with a drop down menu that has the other 4 Thank you

How many products you had on shop?
Thank you! I don't know if it's a coincidence but after I did this I have had 4 sales today! You are a rock star! 👍❤️🌞

Just joined the group! You are now the 2nd person I’ve heard say this sale tip and as a new seller I had no idea so thank you definitely doing it!
Hey heather, do you put discount on all your products or only 1 or a few products and they drive movement to all your other products?
Thank you 💜✨
great idea thanks i will try
Incredibly helpful! Just starting out my Etsy Shop, told my husband I feel like I am back in college learning Etsy 101!
I have no idea why I didn't think of this, THANK YOU

Thanks for the great videos Heather! Thank you also for doing less cuts during the video. It's making it much easier to watch them for me.
Thank you for putting real advice into a free youtube video. This makes so much sense. I am definitely going to try it.

Hello Heather, thank you for your help. Tempur Pedic makes an office chair, it's pricey but if you spend hours upon hours at your desk it's worth it.

Thanks for the info. The one thing is to run sales.
Heather i thank you for this. You are the first person to provide this great tip. I’m doing this today! I am now a subscriber✌🏻

Great strategy! Do you apply the flash on all your products every 1-2 days?
Thank you for taking the time to share this
Looking to start an Etsy store happy I run into your videos.
Hey Heather! Thanks for your great content! Have learned a lot from your channel.
Thank you! Heather😊
Keep posting this channel will take off
As a buyer, I will not buy right away or full price specially if I know the store runs discounts frequently
I agree, that’s the problem with running too much sales it just screams your products are not worth buying at full price. I run sales very sparingly
Hi Heather, Do you recommend putting all your items on sale at once or different items at different times.
Hi. I’ve been on Etsy for a year.. a few sales. I’m going to try your tips thank you.
Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it so much.
This video was so helpful and straight to the point.
Thank you Heather! I will try this!

How do I start a grand opening sale? And what time of day is best?
Did you have any success with the Grand opening sale? I am a newbie who is about to launch my general store with 800+ listings. Grand opening sale is a great idea.
I'm going to try this out, sounds like a good strategy, thanks Heather ☺️
I'd like to browse your etsy shop. Is there a link to it somewhere?
Oh I saw today in one of your other videos why you don't share your shop link on youtube.
Great advice! I've been trying to figure out the sweet spot on sales, thank you for the input ❤️
What is the name of your etsy shop?
Thank you Heather ❤
Would you create a sale on a newly opened store?
..or wait for a certain length of time?
Great video.
Will definitely test this out!
When you create 24 hour sales doesnt Etsy ping your clients every time? Just wondering if it constantly keeps notifying them....
How can l create those flash sales? Great tip lady
Hey Heather, where does the urgency countdown show on the listing?

This strategy may not be legal in some states so use caution and research your local consumer laws.
Totally agree “Always on sale” is fictitious pricing and an FTC violation.

i can see only login option in your link !
What is your Etsy shop name?
Thank you for the practical tip on sales. I didn't know Etsy did a countdown banner.
How difficult is Google Analytics?
I did not know there was a sale option, thank you
Did you change your pricing structure at all after Etsy introduces the Off Site Ads, 12%-15%? Love your videos.
I noticed you said that right before the “sale” you increased the price by the percentage of the discount. Did I understand that correctly?
That's exactly what i was going to ask. When is the price increase by 15% applied ? Just before the sale or when the product is created ? I'm thinking customers would catch on to just raising the price the same percentage of the sale just before the sale hits.
