The greatest set of JD startups! Here in SA (south Australia) we dont see the cold temps that these startups do but the sound is the same. That starter motor struggling, then the gurgling (for want of a better word) of the motor trying to spin quicker, stumbling and stumbling under its own compression ignition only to rise ever so triumphantly into a flat idle without a miss is something to behold. (Aware of the way a JD injection pump works on first start up) My father had a 4430 that would start even at 4 Celsius and would bumble into life like these. A series of sounds ill never forget! Cheers!
Loved you had a popper representing. My 520 is funny. You cannot choke it ever or it wont start. I used to have fits getting the ol girl to start. Funny thing is i was rewiring the lights which involved pulling the foot plate to run the wires which meant had to pull the battery box due to the seat shock mount and my battery cable had bout an inch section halfway round no insulation left due to old wiring cracking so off comes flywheel cover and flywheel. Oh thats why she grinds found about 10 inch section of ring gear trashed so now new ring gear and took starter in for new bendex and see how starter looks if full rebuild or not. It was checking out at less than 10% of deere spec of new. Now she starts great in cold with a little cranking other than now 3 yrs later the battery is on its last leg. 6 yr old bat. Might make 7 since shes a hobby/ show tractor
Hmm. I should post a video of our 240hp 4630. It's starts are always epic, and especially so in the winter! Everyone said we would blow it up at that power level, but it's at 11,000 hrs now so I think we proved them wrong. We do run synthetic oil.
@@donawayfarms5419 No i drive John Deeres over here and they start fine, I appreciate its a lot colder there so why don't they re jig the engine for the conditions,
@Austin Hood My uncles friend had the factory engine in his 4040 overhauld not to long ago at 12000 hours since it was getting wore down and he said it could get down to zero and she would fire right up no problem without plugging it in so it helps to overhaul it after it starts to wear down
Exactly what I was thinking. Unless you count our old 611 Belarus lol. Money had nothing to do with that jewel. Although it had a heck of a motor the rest was pretty much junk.
Deere 6430 yeah we started out with whites some with cabs some without as soon as we made good money everything got a cab and started turning green. Not that they make the best but our dealer has had our backs many times.

Nothing like the growl of a good old straight piped Deere 😍👌
Hell yeah mostly JD! You can really tell which ones have a few extra turns to the pump.

Plug in your tractors people so ya dont hurt you engine
Lance gerleve never
@Austin Hood Your engine could cost 5 to 10 grand to overhaul if it is screwed up bad enough it will still smoke when you start it

Stream
I dont like cold starts dam good way to tear shit up.you start payn the Bill's son you will start plugin them up
ID never buy one now,,
Not to impressed. Cold start to me means below zero. Farming don't stop because of cold weather. Below zero on open cab separates boys from men!
Mike Block or the people with money from the ones with no money
