The worry beads are similar to "WORRY STONES"
you can get them made of a variety of mineral/gemstones, mine was given to me from a friend so i forgot what its made of.
You just keep them in your pocket and rub the smooth indent with your thumb. They're mainly flat, like a skipping stone, but have an indent that perfectly fits your thumb.

Oh, I didn't even know that it was a thing.
My sister used to have a similar to that but it was meant to used as a hair tie, not for playing.
When I got bored I used to played it like that when I was a kid.

The image kind of reminded me of "Tasbih", which is something that you keep track of your prayers with. It's not like a toy, it's more of something like a watch, or a bracelet. Kind of an accessory, but also useful and used for religious purposes.

Something that is even more rarely mentioned about comboloi is that the real product was actually made from a certqin material and it was used to soothe the hands of those that worked in manual labor compartments , the ones that are made now are made of plastic and are used to pass the time

I’m half Greek and have my own worry beads! They’re absolutely gorgeous but I do need to change the string at some point because the current one makes an awful noise and feeling when you move the beads that makes me more anxious. :(

the knot itself is a "monkey fist knot". it generally is used by seamans on the docks to catch the main rope that moors the boat (the towline). easy to make, and quiet practical to throw and catch. but nice nice tutorial, keep in mine that you can use this knot to creat a key chain too.
