you can clean these up even more if you would like by burning a flat on either end of the sling cord, instead of having knots. melt the end and let it cool for a split second before gently pressing it against a smooth flat surface to flatten it. the cord wrapped around the hex nuts makes the hole tight enough that this is enough to keep the cord from slipping back out. i love how clean these look with a flat end, especially if using black cord.
Based on the stated dimensions in the video and comments below, as well as the apparent scale in the video, those look like 3/8" nuts to me. In other words, they fit a 3/8" diameter bolt and are 9/16" across the flats. So if you go to the hardware store, purchase 3/8" nuts.
Thank you vm for this comment! I was looking everywhere on this vid to find the actual correct size lol. Idk why its so hard for this guy to include accurate info
Thanks I made mine today :D I already made some with 2 monkey knots to have something in my hands but I didn't even know belgeri was a thing, so I made one like yours and i'll discover how to make "tricks"
15mm nuts would be probably double this size. I guess he used 8mm ones (defined by the diameter of the inner hole to fit the diameter of screw it goes onto)
Wish I had read this before buying 14mm nuts, especially knowing there are no 15mm nuts, they go 14 to 16 mm,. There should be a correction I the description, I’m a retired die maker, a 15 mm nut means the thread size not the dimensions across the points.
Great Video. Tim, can you make a video of how to make a handle for a Yeti tumbler? I recently received a Yeti knock off at work which had a paracord/shock cord handle attached to it. It uses shock cord as two rings around tumbler and the King Cobra pattern for the handle. Thank You!
Paracord is basically just a type of rope. It can be used for many practical things like camping and outdoor activities. It is also used to make bracelets and other crafts.
Although not this exact type paracord, it was originally & is still used in the rigging of parachutes (lines connect the canopy of parachute to its harness)
I'm guessing that when using the correct size of hex nuts (8mm-10mm on the inside, as hex nuts are usually measured) this would be difficult to string without one.
Refreshing this feed... Correct Nut Size: 3/8" DO NOT use a 15mm nut, that is huge. I actually used 16mm nuts (the hw store didn't have 15mm) thinking I was doing some dumb-a**ed on my part... had to tie 1-strand diamond knots on each end to get them to stop sliding around. 6 1/2" length is also gigantic unless your a pro basketball player. Good news is that now I have a sling type weapon that I can use, thinking David & Goliath here... 😉
Hi! Uh, how are you measuring this? Because I went out and bought some 15mm hex nuts from a standard hardware store, becase they simply had no 1 and 1/8" hex nuts... those would be GIGANTIC... And now that I'm following the tutorial with my hex nuts, they look MUCH too large in comparison to the ones you have. I do, admittedly, have rather small hands; still, two of your hex nuts make up just about the width of your thumb and one of my hex nuts makes up the width of my thumb... And I don't have hands that are *that* small. When you say 15mm, do you mean including the rest of the nut? I believe the standard form of measuring hex nuts is by the size of the *hole* ... Overall, though, this is a decent tutorial! I'm just waiting to see what happens with these gigantic beads at the end... this does *not* feel quite right to me. Maybe I'll just use one hex per bead instead of two.
Alright, so, *WARNING TO ALL TRYING THIS TUTORIAL!* When purchasing hex nuts, *bring a ruler with you* to measure the *outside* of the hex nuts. Becuase, having almost completed this with my gargantuan 5/8" hex nuts (5/8" being very close to 15mm), it's very clear that these are way too large. Especially for someone with smaller hands. The stopper knot slides easily through the hole of the bead, even when wrapped an extra time after the initial cross of the stopper knot. And @TheWeaversofEternityParacordTutorials (even though this won't really notify you; it just feels right), I would suggest you measure these nuts again from the *inside* of the hole instead of the whole nut, as that's how these are sold in stores. Yes, if you're going by socket wrench sizes, then you would measure them by the outside, and that's fine if you mention it (even though it does add extra work for viewers); however, if you do *not* mention this caveat then you'll have viewers go out and buy the wrong size nuts, wasting money and time. I believe this could be a very quality tutorial but I feel extremely misled and cheated, now having wasted a good part of the afternoon attempting to follow your tutorial. GreyWolfEmber. Edit: I've just realized, looking through the comments, that someone else had the same query as I did (which was answered). I'm glad that you're getting correct information out there, but it isn't of much use when sequestered away in the comments section and *not updated in the description box, where people are led by the video for measurements*. Edited again: More comment searching. It's an 8mm hex nut (as it will be posted in stores). Some people are saying this isn't large enough, and recommend a 10mm.
I suppose this goes to show why you always have to check the comments section for any tutorial, but I still think that the description box should be updated with this information.
the hex nut dimensions are confusing me haha. are 15mm hex nuts M15 hex nuts?? i looked up 11/8 hex nuts and have no idea what size those remotely are😭
I am proficient at knot tying and decided to try this. Your directions are simple enough, but the size of the Hex nuts does not make sense. I tried several I had on hand only to find the interior diameter too small to complete the wrapping process, let alone add the grab cord. So I went shopping and ended up with some that are too large. Please, please put the recommended diameter or the size number (USA) of the Hex nuts that work with 550 gutted paracord.
@@Useruserusername790 Wtf are you talking about? What do you call it? Nunchucks. The 2 rods connected by a short chain, the martial arts weapon. You flip them around. Are you slow? And my point still stands, they aren't the most discreet things to be practicing in places where a set of begleri would be better. Plus they're entirely different skill sets. Using nunchucks feels nothing like using begleri lol.

A quick suggestion, super glue the two nuts together before wrapping them with paracord. This may make wrapping them easier. Nice idea.
I understand this video was made a very long time ago, but tbh I do go through old videos to bring new ideas, thank you so much for being here for us.

I’m just getting started with Begleri. Thinking of making my own and i love the way this one looks. Thanks for the video!
I love the begleri videos it makes me want to get in to it
I’ll consider these professionally made
The DIY one looks 10x better than the one you bought to be honest.

Thank you! I sent my son to store and he brought home 15mm like it says in description. Way too big, and I am clueless. Thanks again.
Reminds me of pen spinning...
..but more flexible.
But cooler
Or balisongs
Super begleri

Ok. Just found this in my feed. Just found my new figget spinner. going to try crafting this. Thanks
Gona make one right now! 😎
Nice bro now I'm gonna make this

Hey, I'll keep that in mind for the future. I don't have a Yeti tumbler though so I'd have to get one first.
Nice vids as always dude
Got it! Thanks a lot ❤
Have you tried making a single strand paracord begleri bracelet using a Celtic stopper knot and a loop?
No, but you just gave me a great idea for another begleri bracelet!
it was something I tried with my micro Hydras! It was great fun
What length does both cord for the nuts and the joining cord need to be ?
Discreption is in notes
Can you use them as self defense ....just asking for a friend
Awesome and it's well made processionally.
I don't know what's a paracord
Can u tell me what it is used for, in lifestyle???

what diameter of paracord is best?
Amazing Bro Keep it Up☺☺
Looks great 👍But I am confused on the hex nut size. Do you have a link you could post?
Debb L looks like he's using m8 nuts, the diameter of the hole would be 8mm and the whole nut could be around 15mm
peter lustig Thanks👍
Used to spin my lifeguard whistle like that back in the day...
What size nuts are you using ? Thanks man
Can i use shoelace para cored
Awsome. I want to make one.
I always love your video I am subcribed to your Channel
Wil this work withoud a fid ? And also good video

What’s the name of the professionally made one? And where do you buy it?
I spot a spyderco is it the tenacious?
Close! Paramilitary 2!
The strands of paracord brakes up easily near the hex nuts? What can be done
Awesome 👍👍👍
how about the link to the original? Maine stringing, maybe?
Dope&simple👍🏾u ever made a large size one with huge hex nuts! That would be #definitelydope
what is the name of the paracord colors that you are using??
Imperial red, electric blue, and silver diamonds.
Oops got bored how do I make it again
You said that you used 2 x 1 1/8th" (15mm) hex nut but you are using 4 hex nuts and they don't look that large. I'm unsure the size you gave
The hex nuts I used are 15mm in outer diameter and 8mm inner diameter. I measured it with a ruler.
what size were those nuts?
Looks like a 3/8" nut which would be about 15mm outside diameter.
Yes, the outer diameter is 15mm
what household item could be replaced for the fids?
A straw with a tip cut into it
I was on the struggle bus using my 550 fid
Struggle bus gang
amazing
I make them and sell them at the flea market for 5 to 15 buck
А в России тоже можно продавать?

Ummm yeah no boss what do I do if I dont have a fid
You dont actually need fid
6 1/2 inches is a very average length
Here's the thing we don't have hex nuts or any metal nuts
Be creative use anything u have
11/8ths?
You mean 5/8? Or 11/16?
looks like a good way to eat a set of nuts
Очень много слов.

the voice crack at 10:20 hahahaha
bro 6 1/2 is not average that is massive (right guys? right?)
I 1000% misspoke... 6 1/2 is HUGE
💪👍
You need to keep what doing in the video, instead of pulling your hands down each time. I'm just saying.
can i use a shoe lace instead of paracord?
You can, but if the shoelaces are cotton or natural material, don't try to melt the snipped ends with a lighter as cotton will just burn and not melt.
@The Weavers of Eternity Paracord ahhh okay thank you for that, ill just use super glue
