Compact and mighty, the MD-200 gives you every key mod effect in a minimal footprint. Modern and vintage BOSS chorus effects are included, plus phaser, flanger, rotary, vibrato, and tremolo. Classic vibe and ‘70s phaser effects are also available, complete with selectable distortion for added versatility. That slicer effect is Epic!
I use the MD-200 on synthesizer and to me the slicer is way too quiet for some reason. I was hoping it would be the best but it turned out to be the worst setting.
This is awesome. When I think how much board space this can save its crazy. Just not sure Im ready to say goodbye to my PH2 or CE3 (and all my other modulation pedals!)

2. Question for the experienced players: The multi-effects pedals like this seem like a great value, but how often might one be frustrated that you can't use more than one of the effects at the same time?
one more wish on my wishlist for the next firmware update : as for the 2 choruses, it would be great to be able to chose between a volume or a mix/blend (in the global menu) for the E. Level knob. I prefer by far a mix to a volume setting... Please!

What would be better would be to give a précise example of settings for each mod. I struggle for rotary autowah overtone and slicer. No example on the manual!!!
MIDI support is a winner!!!
So I just got mine yesterday and I have been playing with it a little, all I can say is you need to calm down for like a month or so to really be able to use this thing like a boss, it's so simple but sophisticated, I also love the way the On/Off switch doesn't make any sound when you stomp on it.
Are you putting it in front, or running through the effects loop?
@@spiceybadger Good question, but the answer to that is both, as it depends on the amp, that being said an fx loop is always a better alternative trust me.
@@khay2210 thanks for your response. I've recently picked up my first tube amps and am looking at building my signal chain. Have a load of pedals to replace my GT-6. Just wondering if people run pedals in front and through the effects loop from the same pedal board. I'm just trying to make life simple!!
@@spiceybadger my OD and EQ 200 are the only pedals that I use in front of my amp, and it’s a complex set up actually because I got the first input and output of the eq 200 still going to the fx loop while the second just goes in front of the amp.

Can you use both sets of IO on the MD-200 and assign certain effects to A and some to B so some can always be post dirt and some be pre dirt?
Important question: can I run the MD-200 in a 4 cable-method to use for example the auto-wah before the amp and the chorus in the FX loop?

HI all, when I use the pedal in stereo I/O, the Slicer comes out with stereo pan (ping pong style). ANy idea if this can be changed or its a default setting when the pedal is used in stereo?
How do I get my hands on one of these? I've made quite a few guides for the Boss ES-8 Looper that have done really well, and would love to make a MIDI guide for the 200 series pedals.

Dig the pedal. But why is the only midi cable available to control it 5’ stinkin feet long??? Where do they think we are going to put these pedals?

Questions to owners. 1/Did you find a way to edit which mod effect is used in a stored memory ? 2/ ive struggled with the autowah to get decent sounds out of it. Hpf and lpf are unusable. Bpf is ok for chords funky strumming. But for notes playing particularly with drive, high notes are swallowed. I failed finding the sweet spot. Thank u have a Nice day.
what are the 3 auto-wah modes?
QUESTION about Boss MD-200 : when I press the pedal off and unplug it from the power supply and then plug it back in it automatically turns the pedal on instead of keeping it off and me having to press the switch on the pedal to turn it on. With all my other pedals it's not like this. I switch them off, unplug it, plug it back in, and it's still off until I turn it on with the foot switch. MY QUESTION : is this normal? It's really annoying every time I turn on my rig I have to go and switch that pedal off. Do you guys know anyway to make the pedal so it's not like this? Please help. Thanks.

I wish they got into a little more detail about the midi control but I guess that's what the link was for. I'm curious whether the Slicer rhythmic patterns can be controlled via midi. It would be cool if it followed the same click track that a drummer is following.
Anyone happen to know what model of expression pedal it is that Rabea's using? Looks a wee bit more solid than the recommended EV-5. And what's more, it seems to be able to switch the effect off (at 5:38 or so). Very cool!

In addition intrrnal fuzz and ods suck in the md200 in comparaison to dedicated pedals. Too muddy and no dynamics. Not progressive enough for rotary

Hi BOSS Channel, I'm going crazy trying to setup the midi on this pedal, with my Boss ES-8, do you have any videos explain it please ? The manual is so not handy ... Greetings
I feel you. I connected it to my Arturia MIDI keyboard, and I adjusted what I thought was the right settings based on videos I watched. It does sync up, but not in a way that I would call reliable. However, this is largely the same way the MIDI behaves with the modulation on my synth. Sometimes I have to sort of wake one of them up a little bit by changing relevant settings like the rate or the tap tempo. When I first turn everything on though (and let my analog pieces wake up), with the MIDI already connected, that is when I get the best results with all my units following the tap tempo. I think maybe modulation is just a weird effect where tempo may be irrelevant unless you are on certain settings.
I tried the internal drives for rotary vintage phaser and vibe. I prefer by far to use my own external fuzz or od. No dynamics and low end too muddy with the internal drives. Gadget. I would prefer a blend knob for all the mods.
How many unique patterns are available in the Slicer mode?
Well, any way you slice it, you're gonna be really happy with it. I heard there's like 62,413 combinations of you really want to get technical.
50 different patterns. But the possibilities are infinite when you set each pattern
How do you get the auto-wah to work like a regular wah with the expression pedal???? I have tried with all combinations and nothing seems to work....
Make sure your rate knob is set to epf when you have the expression pedal plugged in

Now you can use exp pedal to set the center freq, but you also need to set A.Wah RATE knob to zero, DEPTH to max, PARA1 to around 3 o'clock and PARA 3 to max position (band pass filter).

Is this pedal an AC or DC pedal? I've read different things in a few places. Does anybody know?
How did you get the Auto Wah to work like a standard Wah with the expression pedal? I am trying on mine, and it only lets me control each of the individual knobs with the expression pedal, none of which give me a standard wah sound. There doesn't seem to be an option to let the expression pedal control the sweep. It just keeps on auto-wah'n.

You have 5, counting with the manual preset (whatever you have set on the buttons)

Would it be possible to get a official demo video, stereo, without the distortion being nearly always on? And someone explaining the three parameter knobs and showing the range of sounds each effect can have?
This looks great. Can anyone tell me if the effects are digitally created or simple analog components? I bought the Strymon Mobius and was very dissappointed in how thin most of the effects sounded. I'm hoping this unit does a servicable chorus, rotary and phaser and will save me having to buy the 3 effects as separate pedals and a bigger board to put them on

I’m having a really hard time to make my Dunlop Volume X Mini work as expression pedal on the MD200, and I really read already the manual a lot of times. After selecting EPF, assigning a value (rate, depth, elevel or a parameter), do you have to do some step extra? Help and thanks.

How much is it?
I have both the MD200, and the EHX mod 11. The boss is far ahead for ergonomics. For my taste and opinion, the MD 200 algorithms are better than Mod11 for : choruses, phasers, flangers. But please, for tremolo, rotary, Uvibe and autowah, listen to the EHX and , please!, try to copy or nail these algorithms and integrate them in the next MD 200 firmware update. Please!
They’re not cheap pedals but by George they’re worth it
Riley Maier I bought the dd200 it just blew my mind on the first note.. I compared it with the blue sky shimmer and I liked the dd200 shimmer better. Hence its really worth it. Md200 I next on my list

Md200 or md500?
Christopher Forrest MD200 is great for saving space and is slightly more powerful from what I can tell, but with the MD500, you can stack up to 3 effects at a time, plus having the benefit of more presets is nice.

I like the look of these pedals but what I don’t like is that they are digital.
I will stick with single stomp boxes.
