    I've had this issue since March and had to miss out on track season. My left leg is the only problem, my LT band. I keep running on it because I don't want to fall behind for cross country. The pain is sharp and gets worse the more active I am or when I pause from running. Worst of all, my coach assumes I'm just faking it. Any suggestions, please?

    If the IT band pain is in the hip instead of knee, will taping still help?
