I am 70 and the music of the 60s 70s and 80s was the best. The Bee Gees were the best of all of them for me. The twins and Barry started singing at 3 and 4. Barry writes them and still is. See them sing with another brother Andy. THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME other than some church music. I am so glad people are rediscovering them!!!! There is hardly any good music today!!!
This song was donated to Unicef. There was a concert for Unicef and they donated the song and rights to that charity. The song netted $10 million for the charity. This is so beautiful. If this song was re-released today, It would go to number 1 and probably a Grammy for Song of the Year.
They were inspired by many artists. They wrote for Otis Redding, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand and many many others-AND none of the brothers could read or write music. Pure God given talent.
Yes, they wrote a song for Otis Redding, but before he could record it, he died in a plane crash. So, the song 'Islands in the Stream' was given to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers which became a huge hit for them.
The Bee Gees donated all of the proceeds from this song to UNICEF. It’s to help children around the world. To this date they have received over 10 Million dollars and still collecting today.
They gave the song to Unicef so they will always have without question of proceeds vs song ownership! Aren't these guys the best!?!? We had it good !!! Take Care!!
I’m so glad you loved the song. The beauty of The Bee Gees was not only their angelic voices, their heavenly harmonies but the fact that they wrote all their own music. They loved to use all different kinds of instruments in their arrangements. Knew were they wanted violins, saxophones, trumpets, etc…and all without knowing how to write or read music. The were all self taught and played guitar, piano/keyboard etc..Maurice was the multi instrumentalist of the three. They even wrote top hits for top artists. They wrote over 1000+ songs of different genres and they were heavily influenced by R&B, Soul, funk. They were perfectionists and would not release something if it did not meet up to their standards. Their three part harmonies are unequaled. Please react to LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT, it’s R&B and Barry’s falsetto is impeccable, thank you for your great reaction. ❤❤❤
It’s a magical song and when it was released, they gave away the rights to UNICEF and it’s raised millions for the charity even if someone else covers it - first group to do that 👍🏻 Nobody like them 🤩
Their range, harmony and songwriting skills are second to none. The Brothers Brilliant never disappoint! This was before autotune was even invented. They are pure talent.
These 3 brothers were born to sing! The 2 on the outside are actually twins! These three used to sing in their bedroom as kids and their mother thought her boys were listening to the radio. Their first performance was when the twins were only 5!! R. I. P. To the twins Robin and Maurice Gibb, you are missed!
I believe that the Bee Gees had a few groups that inspired them. Some of them were The Mills Brothers and The Harmony Kings. The Gibb brothers have been singing together since they were young boys. Their harmonies have been crafted for decades and we are hearing a great example of those harmonies in this song.
ChurchBoy, I just love your enthusiasm for these talented brothers! Your reactions brought joy to my heart. The Bee Gees were singing harmony the year I was born and I'm on the downhill run to 70. They were blessed with talent and worked very diligently. But I believe their music was fueled by love. Each had his own unique voice and vocal strength. I'd encourage you to explore more deeply. Thank you for sharing your joy! 💕
Watching the faces of those of you who weren’t lucky enough to grow up with the music of my generation is sooo satisfying! We were lucky enough to be inundated with great, timeless music and I’m so happy to see its sound touch a new generation. ❤️
They were born in the late 40s, so their influences were soul, Motown. Listen to some of their interviews. They loved talking about music. They could also be very funny. Great sense of humor.
Great heartfelt reaction to this classic.🙌 “ FANNY BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE” is another harmonious and beautiful soulful/R&B jam…..they were inspired by the Mills Brothers and the Stylistics.
The Bee Gees had hits in the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and 2000’s and had 22 studio albums and 83 singles. They also wrote songs for most of the top artists such as Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Elvis, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Yvonne Elliman, Tavares, Frankie Valli, Jimmy Ruffin and Dionne Warwick to name but a few. They wrote over 1,000 songs are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They were masters of their craft. Their harmonies were the essence of their greatness . Fantastic group. Man they don't make music like this anymore .🔥
Too Much Heaven is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.
Welcome to the music of The Brothers Gibb aka The BeeGees! They were awesome! All three brothers could sing falsetto but Barry could hold it longer. The Bee Gee rabbit hole is massive and deep! Will be looking forward to watching your Bee Gee journey. Great response and I loved your reaction! 🎶🎶🎶
One of my favorite things about them is whether they're live or recorded they sound exactly the same. They don't like loving a song and hearing it live and it doesn't sound like the recording. They always sound live just like the record.

This song make me feel happy inside. I grew up as a teenager with theses guys. We thought the BeeGees were black too, but it didn’t matter to us. This was clean beautiful music, and I still get goosebumps listening to it, it never gets old! Love seeing how you embrace and appreciate great music!
I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in my wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. He's the amazing thing, they could not read musical notes. This meant they were also awesome musicians and just played by ear. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs: Staying Alive ua-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/v-deo.html For Whom the Bells Toll ua-cam.com/video/K5XgAqMLR14/v-deo.html Spirits (Having Flown) ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html Closer Than Close ua-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/v-deo.html One ua-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/v-deo.html You Win Again ua-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/v-deo.html Bodyguard ua-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/v-deo.html Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) ua-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/v-deo.html (Destiny Child's cover has too much drama. But Barry liked it.) Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) Andy Gibb ua-cam.com/video/eH686Dyy16w/v-deo.html At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2. They have sold more than 220 million records worldwide (I'm quite sure more by now.) Their musical inspirations are Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; Russell Thompkins, Jr (Stylistics) William Hart, Jr (Delfonics) Brian Wilson (Beach Boys). I'm quite sure there are others, but these names are mentioned in several videos.
They never learned to read or write music yet they were gifted geniuses. They always wrote from the heart. Their father was an English band leader and their mother was a singer. People often thought they were black which they took as a massive compliment! Inspired by Everly Brothers, Motown, can't think of others at the moment. It was always about the harmonies.
They were influenced at a young age by the music their mom played in the house..one of those bands were the Mills Brothers.... They were all Knighted by Queen Elizabeth ...Maurice had already passed away, so Queen Elizabeth presented the medal and certification to the two remaining brothers, Barry and Robin.... The Bee Gees are the BEST EVER!!!
It's so moving in this troubled world to watch a guy like you who loves music as much as you getting turned on by something just because it's beautiful.. Thank you so much for sharing your positive energy...
The BeeGees stands for the Brothers Gibb. Barry is the oldest. Robin and Maurice are twins. They started performing together professionally as young children.
22 studio albums over 50 years, 83 singles released, and the brothers composed close to if not a thousand songs for themselves and many others. The two you’ve reacted to were two of six consecutive #1s they had late 1977 to mid 1979, when they were the biggest thing in the world. 81 other singles to try with easily 30 well worth trying out. Love the Brothers Gibb, BG, Bee Gees.
To my ear the most enjoyable harmonies occur between Robin and Maurice while Barry does his trill (if that’s a word) over the top. Known this one since 1981.
They reinvented themselves constantly. Watch the chest, breathing of Barry. Powerful voice!!! They sang as one. They've been singing together since the age of 6 and 9 yrs old.
The Bee Gees are 3 brothers who were born on the Isle of Man, then moved to Manchester before emigrating to Australia. They then returned to the UK before moving to the USA. They wrote loads of great songs over many decades and genres. They also sounded just as good live as on the studio versions and had fabulous harmonies. The Bee Gees also wrote for other singers including Barbara Stresand etc.
Barry is the oldest. Brothers Robin and Maurice, twins, both died in the early 2000s. Maurice, pronounced Morris, of a post-surgical medical error, and Robin of cancer a few years later. In this video, Maurice is on Barry's left, Robin on his right. Unusual lineup, for the boys, it's usually Mo, Robin, then Barry. Baby brother Andy, died early 80s from a heart complication. Check him out, too; he sang solo, even though his big brothers helped. You can find a few concert clips of Andy running out onto the stage to join them.
Welcome in the Univers of the Bee Gees. They had so many Songs. And every Song is a surprice. I grow up with the best Group ever. Amazing Voices Amazing Song Amazing Bee Gees. 🕺🥰👍
Welcome to the wonderful world of the BeeGees! It will not disappoint! They spoke of many inspirations and loved R&B. Right now you're in the 70's, very R&B and dance. Back to the hits in the 60's for more Folk ballads and more. They had hits also in the 80's, 90's up to early 2000's as a group. Until we lost our first BeeGee in 2003. They all also play instruments. Your fun has only just begun! Enjoy! Please listen to "Fanny be Tender with My Love" Quincy Jones claimed might be his favorite R&B song. Have a great night. Thanks
I love to watch people react to the BeeGees! The surprise! We all fell in love with them back in the 70’s even tho they’d already been around for a few years. Saturday Night Fever really brought them to the forefront! NO ONE can beat them! Pure raw talent!
The reactions to these songs make me feel as good as you do listening to them. These guys are incredible. I grew up in the 70s on them. 3 brothers, Barry is the only brother still alive. Maurice (pronounced Morris) with the thinning hair, and Robin were fraternal twins.
I love the reactions to this video clip. I have not seen one where the person didn't break into a beautiful genuine smile. This is such a good feeling sound. There are very possibly many adults now who are the result of the beautiful music and vibes the Bee Gees. Smoochie music makes the future generations 😊
I think you would really love to watch the video of the Bee Gees singing “You Should Be Dancing’. That was a big hit for them and in the video they add their younger brother Andy Gibb, who was starting his solo career at the time. It has an awesome beat and harmonies. Definitely a dance song and it was in the movie Saturday Night Fever.
These brothers have been written their own music for over 50 years. They were just musical geniuses. Have a listen to Massachusetts or For Whom the bell tolls to hear Robin's vocals soar. For Maurice have a listen to Angel of Mercy with his daughter Sam.
I knew this one would blow you away! You are so fun to watch 😂! Now you need to check out “Fanny Be Tender With My Love” and “For Whom The Bell Tolls” in this one you will get to hear Robins beautiful voice. Another great on is “Wish You Were Here”, they wrote this song for their younger brother Andy, he passed away in his 30’s. If I remember correctly they never did this song live because it was too emotional for them.
No Other Brothers, including the late Andy Gibb were, to Me the Best Vocalist I ever heard. I grew up with their 1st Hit straight thru!!! And the Lyrics, sheer genius and beautiful.
All proceeds of this song went to UNICEF. Barry is the only remaining Bee Gee. Robin (in white shirt) and Maurice are twins and Andy (he had a solo career but he did sing with his brothers from time to time. Have all passed away.R.I.P. Their sister was the first born of all those boys. Try Staying Alive & Robin's song "I started a joke" in that live video Barry turned his back to the audience because he wanted his brother to be in the spotlight.
They started in 1958 as little kids. Other great songs from this time are Fanny be tender with my love, More than a woman, Nights on Broadway, Jive Talking...so many! Enjoy the rabbit hole. Maurice Gibb, balding brother, was responsible for most of their incredible bass lines like in Jive Talking.
I had the pleasure of seeing them twice and live they were the real deal. Barry, however, did the most rock & roll move I've EVER seen though. If you'll indulge me: I saw them in the mid 90's at the Garden State Arts Center in NJ (Daryl Hall opened) and they were playing "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and before the first chorus where Barry does the unmistakable "And...." He stops and all of the middle-aged ladies are silent in anticipation.... He has a half-opened shirt on, his guitar turned behind him, jeans as tight as can be with the spotlight on him. He waits just the right amount of time and builds up the anticipation of that note with the spotlight on him only. Then finally, the silence builds to the crescendo and he sings "and...." and the place pops and explodes like nothing I have ever heard!!! Ladies throwing bras, girdles with one older woman yelling "Oh, Barry!! F6ck me!!!!" I couldn't believe it and I just laughed hysterically, and my sister wasn't much better!!!! LMAO! I have been fortunate enough to see some of the greatest frontmen and women live. No one has EVER touched that moment. He knew exactly what he had, who he was performing for and how to build the crowd. This is one of those songs that is simply perfect. Perfectly written, executed and performed. In my 'Top 10 Dessert Island discs'.
That's the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra backing them up. They donated the royalties of this song to UNICEF children's charity, forever...close to $15 million so far. They first performed in 1958, when Barry was 9 and younger fraternal twins Maurice, right, and Robin, left, were 6.They wrote over 1,000 songs, 10 number 1s in 4 different decades, including about 100 songs written for some of the top voices OF those decades. Only Sir Paul McCartney has written more hits than Sir Barry Gibb and his little brothers. They sang as a trio until 2003, with Maurice's death. Robin died in 2012, but Barry is still kickin' and still married to his wife, Linda, since Sept. 1970...so he's definitely walked the love song talk! Try 'Nights On Broadway' for a sample of their lower voices, and the first song they used their high falsettos in...a real rockin' song too! Maurice was a great bass player, I bought the Rickenbacker 4001 in my photo just because he played one like it in the live video of 'Jive Talkin'!
They started writing their songs 1958 or 1959 and have been going untill the 2000's, just about everyone a hit somewhere in the world. R.I.P To Mo (Maurice, Robin & Andy.)
Isn’t it crazy how the world is in 2024 but, you hear this song and it DOES but a smile on your face!
Amen.. transported right back there with an all teeth shining smile.. so so true @brunopaolucci6054!!
All of the brothers wrote music, not just Barry
Same for me - born in 71 - 60s, 70s, 80s is the best compilation of decade music - the BeeGees are top tier - perfection.
No autotune ....
No dirty lyrics......
Just pure music !!!!!!!
I’m grateful for your work and lagacy!
Pure heaven.
Just pure talent ❤
So right!! Pure joy
The bass is played by one of them, Maurice Gibb!
This song was donated to Unicef. There was a concert for Unicef and they donated the song and rights to that charity. The song netted $10 million for the charity. This is so beautiful. If this song was re-released today, It would go to number 1 and probably a Grammy for Song of the Year.
And Barry Gibb has been married for 53 years to the same woman. Love the brothers Gibb! ❤😊
They were inspired by many artists. They wrote for Otis Redding, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand and many many others-AND none of the brothers could read or write music. Pure God given talent.
That's incredible. It took me a while to learn music theory after I started playing. I'm amazed.God-given talent indeed.
Yes, they wrote a song for Otis Redding, but before he could record it, he died in a plane crash. So, the song 'Islands in the Stream' was given to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers which became a huge hit for them.
@@brendawilson8208 The song they wrote for Otis Redding was To Love Somebody which they then released in 1967 the same year Otis Redding died,
Cannot agree more on the Pure God Talent.
We can't forget Al Green How do you Mend a Broken Heart.
Take Care!!
God gave talent to every race Not just black people have soul.
I’m so glad you loved the song. The beauty of The Bee Gees was not only their angelic voices, their heavenly harmonies but the fact that they wrote all their own music. Quincy Jones said their hit “Fanny be Tender with my love “ is one of the best R&B songs he’s ever heard
He also said the Bee Gees are the greatest harmonies ever said he’s ever heard in. Nobody will ever be like them again.
One of my favs

Their harmonies have been crafted for decades and we are hearing a great example of those harmonies in this song.
They always credit the Mills Brothers as one of their main inspirations
Patty-You should try How Deep is Your Love. The harmonies in this one are just as amazing.
They were inspired by their dad. I think there was an HBO special about them. They had a younger brother, Andy Gibb, too much drugs. ❤❤
ITS LIKE GOD HAS GIVEN US A SMALL GLIMPSE OF WHAT HEAVENLY MUSIC WILL SOUND LIKE, BUT ONLY MORE LOVELY.
The rabbit hole of the Bee Gees is extremely deep. You're welcome!!
My love swept me off my feet to this song 46 years ago. Its timeless and beautiful and it means so much to me STILL❤❤❤❤
Love the Tone of your voice ❤❤❤

Right? Let's here it for my generation. Born in '56...freaking LOVE the Bee Gees!

Barry was singing that song to his wife in the audience
Barry is the oldest and also the last surviving brother. I can't imagine not having their wonderful music all of these years (I'm 65).
The greatest vocal trio of all time in my opinion 😔👍
There we're 4 brothers the youngest Andy passed away very young. The others later in life. Berry is the only one left.
They were masters of their craft.
Their harmonies were the essence of their greatness .
Fantastic group.
Man they don't make music like this anymore .🔥

The brothers harmonize perfectly they did this live in a studio with an orchestra, no auto tunes in the 70's Robin, Barry in the middle, Maurice Gibb
One of my favorite things about them is whether they're live or recorded they sound exactly the same. They don't like loving a song and hearing it live and it doesn't sound like the recording. They always sound live just like the record.

Their voices sound like instruments. Wow.
I hope Heaven has a Bee Gee channel that we get to listen to while the haters can get what they deserve all fire and no Bee Gees.
The Bee Gees donatred ths song to UNICEF in 1979. Since 1979 its raised over $11,000,000

The Bee Gees are the BEST EVER!!!
Yeah. They reeled you in there, didnt they? And that's who Barry Gibb is. Feeling goods all around.
He is an amazing talent!
Patty-They wrote R&B regardless what category the rest of the world put them. They always saw themselves as R&B writers.
Hearing this appreciation from someone who also knows music theory makes it even more valuable. Great reaction.
One of the greatest love songs ever
They didn't always use the falsetto but once they started the record label insisted that was the way to go. They weren't wrong!
They loved the way The Stylistics sounded and wanted to partially emulate them vocally!
One of my favs
The stylistics is on my list.
They were inspired by a lot of singers.
Ok, now that you have 'stepped in it' (BeeGees), time to check their biggest hit 'Staying Alive'.
Bee Gees have been around as long as the Beatles!
Heavenly....♥ Still resent to this day my mother not letting me go to see them in concert with my older sister's friend, who had BACKSTAGE PASSES.
Feel ya'.
If you want to hear more of a rock song from The Bee Gees, "Tragedy" will blow you away. Same with "For Whom The Bell Tolls".
Bee Gees One, one of my favorite albums. I'm 73 and still listen to it. Sit back and enjoy!
Gotta hear some funky Bee Gess - "LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT." The Bee Gees are a once in a lifetime group!
We talking Edie Kendricks, Curtis Mayfield, Stylistics, Delphonics, Spinners type music. WOW!!
Tractors wish they could pull that hard…
The smile on your face, says it all!!!
Welcome in the Univers of the Bee Gees. They had so many Songs. And every Song is a surprice. I grow up with the best Group ever. Amazing Voices Amazing Song Amazing Bee Gees. 🕺🥰👍
Nobody writes love songs like this anymore.
Only the Bee Gees pure music from an Era that cannot be matched ever.
Thanks
Outstanding reaction! Thank you.
Musical ecstacy.
Dope on Dope.
Staccato, Vibrato, Tremolo and thats just the vocals. Uncommon Harmony
Music is all about frequencies and when those frequencies touch your soul you get chills.
They are brothers. Bee Gees....Brothers Gibbs.
Your lovely smile throughout this performance said it all 😊 Love the Gibb bros..sending you love from London ❤ 🇬🇧
Superb reaction: sensitive and uncluttered. Thanks!
Love the fact that your reaction along with your music knowledge was superb and appreciated.
No Other Brothers, including the late Andy Gibb were, to Me the Best Vocalist I ever heard. I grew up with their 1st Hit straight thru!!! And the Lyrics, sheer genius and beautiful.
They have harmonized since they were kids. Amazing. Get their CDs outstanding.
Thanks for doing this.
The Bee Gees were phenonal musicians. One of the best group of the time. I know their home in Australia.
They remind me here of The Stylistics. The great Stylistics. Even Smokey Robinson.
Those soaring vocals, to me, are the closest to what it feels like to experience love.
Try Staying Alive &
Robin's song "I started a joke" in that live video Barry turned his back to the audience because he wanted his brother to be in the spotlight.
I will have to check that out
I had the pleasure of seeing them twice and live they were the real deal. Barry, however, did the most rock & roll move I've EVER seen though. If you'll indulge me:
I saw them in the mid 90's at the Garden State Arts Center in NJ (Daryl Hall opened) and they were playing "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and before the first chorus where Barry does the unmistakable "And...." He stops and all of the middle-aged ladies are silent in anticipation....
These three brothers have been harmonizing since they were very young
There would be no more wars if everyone listened to that song.
They started writing their songs 1958 or 1959 and have been going untill the 2000's, just about everyone a hit somewhere in the world.
R.I.P To Mo (Maurice, Robin & Andy.)
Its makes you feel like youre in Heaven. Wonderful song.
