I can't believe Sneaker Pimps lives again! After all those years...I only hope it will keep a considerable amount of the old Sneaker Pimps sound, and by old I mean Bloodsport and Splinter! I am so happy!
Sounds more like an iamx song; not what i was looking for from Sneaker Pimps, but keeping an open mind. Hope there are some imperfect vocal edgy songs.
I really hope this ends up sounding like a Sneaker Pimps album rather than recent IAMX. Splinter and Bloodsport are masterpieces, and I loved the first two IAMX albums. Fingers crossed this new album is a return to those days.
I listened and thought, “ah. more Iamx.” I anticipated a burlesque’ish slow ballad with textural pianos, and that’s what I heard; but there was something else. This feels different, and it’s good. It’s not “more Iamx,” it’s “something” different. And I like it.

If there’s no elements of trip hop or electronica on this album it won’t feel like SP. Chris grew as a vocalist but I’m not sure his grandiose style of singing will even work for the Sneaker Pimps sound.
I see your point but the last thing I want is to completely ignore the last 20 years of artistic development Chris has experienced. SP can evolve as well and I believe this sounds like a natural progression. Think about songs like Mai'dez, Splinter, and Destroying Angel. Yes this is a little more opulent but I think it will work.

I'm only 19 (literally an infant the year bloodsport came out RIP), so it's exciting to actually see a new release from SP. this is just a minute and a half sample of a song though, so i don't have any really substantial opinions to offer yet but i'll be there on release day for sure.

I think genres are inherently tied to their original era. It'd be silly to expect the feel of Late 90s early 00s from works of today. Kudos to anyone who can do so though.
if he uses the novation bass station 2 I doubt it. that synth doesn't have a vintage sound. it does cool stuff and I know chris has four of them from his videos from his diary stuff but seeing as some people are not gear people you may not have noticed this detail. Liam's house was featured when the novation company did a video some time ago and he still has a whole wall of vintage synths, so it wouldn't be that hard to capture the sound of synthesizers he still uses to this day that sit in his office next to his desk.
Everyone here hoping Chris will ignore the last twenty years of his solo artistic development in service to fans who want a watered down sequel to 90's SP albums are fooling themselves.
so why bring back Sneaker Pimps? Just as a cash cow? Howe contributed a lot to the first few records and frankly the last IAMX album didn’t do much for me at all. Its not unreasonable for fans to want something aside from the baroque/industrial pageantry and power ballads of IAMX, even if he does revert back to a somewhat “dated” sound.

Sneaker Pimps as a band, Liam and Chris, will decide what they want to release and what it should sound like. The three albums they released and the albums worth of demos for SP4 don't sound all that similar to one another. They're entitled to change their sound at their discretion and cater to their strengths. Just for reference, Chris and Liam have written music longer separately than they have together.
It's funny you should say that because I listen to their albums all the time never worrying about if they will ever make another one but if they do so be it.

According to Chris himself early this year, this is one of two albums they're making.

I know that he's been doing some video directing, and so forth, but I've also heard some familiar style in the instrumentation. I can only guess that he's done some music processing, and sound editing, as well. He's not as distinctive as say Boris Blank, but if you listen to Gary Numan before and after, you can definitely tell when is switches from Neo-Dark to a little more Trip-Hoppy.

Why would anyone want "another..." we already have those, most would like something new rather than the same thing we already have multiples of. New, interesting, creative, thought & emotion provoking that makes your body move is what I personally am hoping for. If I want "Bloodsport or Splinter," I can (and frequently do,) just put one of them on.

Listened to half the album, couldn't listen to the rest. It just has a really bland/generic sound and only very few really interesting elements to it.
