Oh my God, didn't expect to see Outrageous Fortune on this list. Absolute classic.
In my opinion, the prequel Westside (TV3, 2015 - 2020) is even better, as you see the height of the West family's criminal activities spanning from the 1970s in Series 1 to 1990 in Series 6. Excellent program.

Just realised we've never mentioned the utterly wonderful 'The Flashing Blade.'
Anyone who grew up on kids programmes on the bbc back during 70's school holidays saw this. A french show with an English dub. During a war between France and Spain one French castle is holding out against all the odds. A Spanish officer is determined to take it before an impending truce. A dashing nobleman and his valet come to the castle and head off on a mission to save the day. It turned up on kids programme 'on the waterfront' late in the 80's where they redubbed it with silly voices to brilliant effect. But some complained about that and thus it got it's first repeat in a while as a result. I don't know if I ever actually watched it all the way through till it came to vhs in 2002. And when I finally did I loved it. It's fabulous swashbuckling action. With a wonderful theme tune. The english dub is pretty good too. The voice actor for one character, a vatican envoy, is brilliant. Making him even more cunning than anyone from Blackadder.
The vhs - and later dvd - do also contain the long lost thirteenth episode. Which the bbc never actually showed. It acts as an epilogue for the show. It's all in French with subtitles. And the original french theme which is interestingly different. The picture quality of this episode isn't great but it's an interesting curio.
All together now 'you've got to fight for what you want....'

Loved that show , it seemed to be on every summer in the 70’s. I had no idea what it was about but the theme tune was of course brilliant.

Underrated- The Peter Serafinowicz Show. Only had one series and while some sketches miss, I thought it was a pretty good show. It was a great showcase for Peters impressions and had some funny sketches that I still quote from time to time. Shame it never got a second series as I think it would have found more of an audience

Willo the Wisp was the only one of these I even knew. From memory, it was part of my summer of '81, although it aired repeatedly for a few years afterwards. I remember watching the prototype film, (a corporate information film to do with gas leaks, if I remember correctly), where the titular wisp played the part of aforementioned leak, with a number of quips voiced by Kenneth Williams. Having mentioned this show, it reminds me of many 5 minutes shows that were on the end of the children's segment of television on weekday early evenings before the news came on at 5.40. There's the obvious ones like, 'The Magic Roundabout', 'The Wombles', 'Ivor The Engine', 'Crystal-tips and Alistair', and, 'Captain Pugwash', of course, but then there's others which were adapted from newspaper comic strips such as, 'The Perishers', and, 'Fred Bassett', among others. Let's not forget, 'Roobarb', and, 'Noah & Nelly', and, 'The Amazing Adventures of Morph.' There's many others, but that's all that springs to mind.

I loved the first series, but I thought they ruined it when they introduced Carl and changed the animation style. I only recently found out that this was because Van Partible, the creator of Johnny Bravo, was fired from his own show when Warner Brothers bought Cartoon Network. They said it was because he lacked experience!
In the early-mid 2000s they brought Partible back for a final season. I watched a couple of the episodes and I enjoyed them a lot more than seasons 2 & 3.

The Great Space Coaster is hardly forgotten. Now, The Adventures of Snelgrove Snail, there's one that I'm sure no one remembers. It was a Canadian puppet show from 1980 about a snail and his shellfish friends going to school in a coral reef. Super cheap looking but kind of charming, it made the rounds of crappy local UHF stations throughout the Eighties.

Forgotten. 'Ultraviolet' and i dont mean the film from 2006. 6 episodes were aired by CH4 late in the 90s, and it starred Idris Elba and Jack Davenport. It was a different take on the vampire trope (who were referred to as 'code red'). It was less 'Buffy' and more like the later 'Torchwood'. It dealt with certain human themes, and all was set for a second series (which never happened). Somebody dropped the ball on that one.
