Shelley Duvall's Fairy Tale Theatre, excellent, 1982 to 1987, Showtime. An anthology series which dramatized classic fairy tales. Often featured name actors. One I recall "The Little Mermaid" closer to the original than the Disney version. Pam Dauber of "Mork and Mindy" as Pearl, the mermaid, Karen Black as the Sea Witch, Treat Williams as the Prince and Helen Mirren as a Princess.
"Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" a soap opera parody produced by Norman Lear, aired 5 nights a week on WNEW in New York City. Changed name to "Forever Fernwood" when lead actor left the show. Also spinoff, "Fernwood 2 Night" later "America 2 Night" Martin Mull as Barth Gimball character from the show, a talk show parody. 1976 to 1979.

    Forgotten : Get Stuffed
It was a 10 minute cooking show that used to air on ITV in the early hours of the morning back in the early 90's. I remember we would come back from the pub pissed and watch it because there was nothing else on at that time😒.

Underrated - "The Greatest American Hero" - An 80s US TV show about a school teacher called Ralph Hinkley who meets a UFO while on a school field trip and is given a super suit which gives him super powers and comes with an instruction book which he loses.
Ralph struggles being a superhero and needs help from a sarcastic FBI agent, Bill Maxwell, and Ralph's girlfriend, Pam.
It starred William Katy, Robert Culp and Connie Selleca.
I think it was a fun show and was pretty good, but doesn't seem to get much love, so I rate it both "Underrated" and "Excellent".

I loved Secret valley and used to watch it as a kid when it was on ABC TV during the early 80's. It also had a memorable theme tune with new lyrics written to the classic Australian ballad Waltzing Matilda.
I you liked that show you will also like a similar show called "Ship To Shore". The comic adventures of the kids who live on Circe Island, a fishing community off the coast of Western Australia. Some kids call it Paradise, the others call it a prison and long for the mainland. Each episode involves the kids trying to get off the island whilst outsmarting the islands bumbling security guard Hermes Endakis (played by Greg Carroll ) who is the head security guard for the islands secret communications base.
This forgotten and excellent TV series ran for 3 seasons of 26 episodes each from 1993-1996 on the ABC and Channel 9 in Australia and YTV in Canada. As well as briefly on Nickelodeon in the United States and the United Kingdom.

    Rex the Runt; Excellent.
It's an Aradman Animation classic in my opinion. It's about four plasticine dogs getting in to wacky and surreal situations. It has a great cast of cameos as well. I might be biased because it reminds me of being a bain at Christmas (I'm pretty sure that's when episodes were aired but you'll have to forgive my aging mind if they weren't.) but I recommend anyone to watch it if they like things like other Aaardman works like creature comforts.

The key to the show was the great writing with plots that would go off in weird but interesting directions.

Underrated/Excellent. American Dad- This is arguably funnier, cleverer and more enjoyable than Family Guy.
The premise is a cia agent and his family take in a very sarcastic/annoying/witty alien called Roger(when he saves Stans life) with the sharpness of Lily Savage and the irritance/petulance of Alan Partridge, roger the alien is outstanding.
He has split personality disorder, psychopathic tendencies and dresses up as various characters whilst doing a myriad of voices.
Yeah, there is fart jokes in it but it also has poignance, dark humour, heart felt parts, brilliantly written episodes.
Bond fans will love the tearjerker episodes spoofing blacksploitation, bond, austin powers etc.
Stans a xenophobic democratic stereotype of an all american mans man. The series slowly mellows him out. My favourite episode is probably The great space Roaster or lost in space.
Also Stans boss Bullock is played by Patrick Stewart who is absolutely hilarious! Often taking advantage of Stans naivety much to the annoyance of Stans wife Francine.
I think Stans design is inspired by Bob Hopes looks/voice. As Seths a huge fan of Hope, Crosby, Kelly.

    Excellent : Monkey Dust - BBC3 - 2003-2005
Sureal animated comedy sketch show. The characters were a bizarre mix of weird stereotypes in equally bizarre situations.
Some of the characters like Clive Pringle who arrives home from work late and concocts excuses based on TV shows to his wife.
Ivan Dobsky who is a notorious murderer that committed his crime in the 1970s and due to his low IQ still believes the outside of prison world hasn't moved on from the pop culture of the 70s. He has a cell buddy called Mr Hoppy which is a space hopper Ivan thinks is alive.
Also the Paedofinder General who is protecting kiddies by accusing various innocent people.
Not to everyone's taste but entertaining enough to give some people a favourite character or characters.

Another excellent series and possibly forgotten is "Kizzy". The story of a young Romany/Gypsy girl who comes to live on the outskirts of a village with her loving but increasingly frail nan where they are both welcomed by some villagers and treated with suspicion by others. When Kizzy is forced to go to school, she rebels esp after being bullied by other schoolgirls.
Sadly her nan dies and Kizzy is taken in by another Romany family but when this fails, she is threatened with being taken into care. Eventually she is fostered by a kind female teacher and later adopted by said teacher and the colonel whose land they originally camped on. A very memorable series and a fond part of my and many other people's childhood.

The pilot movie for that Spider-Man show was shown in British cinemas. I saw it twice there because I Loved it so much. first time though was on a double bill with 'you light up my life'. Story of a girl trying to make it as a singer in New York. The title of the film is her debut song. It's a good song but it gets on the nerves by the end as you hear it so much. And it wasn't what an eleven year boy wanted to sit through. It was one of those seventies shows with similar plots, but as a product of it's time it's not bad. Pity they didn't put Nicholas Hammond in Spider-Man far from home.
Excellent: The Big Match. Those who didn't grow up post 1993 would probably be surprised at how little football was on tv back then. Only having three channels was one of the causes of this. But actually getting some football on tv was such a novelty you watched all of it because you could. The BBC had Match of the Day saturday night. ITV had the Big Match, hosted by Brian Moore, on early sunday afternoons. Essential viewing for the fans. Very much a product of it's time, but it was excellent for bringing us what it did.

God, what a great list... LOVED the 1970 Spider-Man... Podge and Rodge: A Scare at Bedtime is one i never got into thanks to teh ugly puppets... But seeing these clips, I regret it!
I HAVE A NOMINATION - For FORGOTTEN as its stars have moved on since... HALE AND PACE (ITV) - Comedy Sketch Show featuring Gareth Hale and Norman Pace, better known to anyone who was a fan of the classic NAKED VIDEO as "THE MANAGMENT Umm Hah!" - I believe it ran for a mere two seasons before getting canned... Which is a shame, They really upped the ante with off the wall humour and a lot of childish adult humour...
Those who have seen it will always remember it for ONE FINAL SKETCH in Season 1... The "Here's one I made Earlier" skit... It got SO MANY COMPLAINTS!!!
Classic Characters such as Billy and Johnny - The Parody of Children's TV presenters... The Management of course with short quips such as PACE: "Ron, Their Cackling, I DONT LIKE CACKLING!!!"
HALE: "I DONT DONT LIKE ANY KIND OF PORK!"
I have not found any full episodes sadly, nor can I find the "Here's One I made Earlier" Skit - Yeah... No surprise... That would be a bit risqué for UA-cam! But there are a few available including the R. SOLES AND SON Estate Agents Song, and "The Bollocks Song" - Very dated now, God they had a joke about Filofax and one about Advertisements in Sunday Newspapers... Who actually has Sunday Newspapers anymore??? But still a great watch!
And a WHAT DID I JUST WATCH? THE JAMES WHALE RADIO SHOW... Yeah, I dont even know how to describe this one... All I know is I did used to watch it at 1am every Friday on ITV as it was also being Broadcast live on the Radio... I mean, What more can you say except that it had risqué humour, Linda Nolan showing off her ample bosom, and James Whale giving away Free Condoms!!!

Jinsy does look like the worst thing ever made. BBC 3 always excelled at utter dreck.
