    Hi, I have SB4 installed but had to make a few coin-shaped holes in it for the sake of a repair. Do you have a product I can use to fill in the holes and uphold the soundproofing? Thanks.

    Just moved in to a semi detatched house built in 2000's in UK. While in the living room I can hear conversations in next door's living room. Quite clear and able to follow conversation. When I tap the wall, it sounds hollow, which I think means it's dot and dabbed. Your video suggests that for clear sounds, the soundboard 4 system should help. However, would you recommend putting this on top of current plasterboard or removing it first? Thanks.

      Hi lebowskii98, are you also able to hear other noises along with conversations, such as music, TV noise etc? If so, you might want to take a look at the ReductoClip Independent wall system, or ReductoClip Direct to Wall system. (Please see below links). We would always advise calling, just so we can speak to you in more detail about the levels and types of noise you are trying to block, and what the wall is made of. You mention you think the wall is dot and dab. The below blog also offers ways of further checking if this is the case:
      www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/how-to-determine-what-type-of-party-wall-you-have
      The recommendation would be to remove the current plasterboard and also to remove the dot and dab, level the wall and then apply the SoundBoard 4. Please do call us on (01423) 206208, so we can confirm if SoundBoard 4 is indeed the best solution in this instance.

      @@SoundproofingStore Thanks for your prompt reply. The issue I have with the other systems is losing space in already small rooms. In answer to your question, I can hear other things like cutlery on plates, dog yapping, tv, sockets being turned on/off and plugs going in out of wall. I'm going to give it a week or two before deciding on whether to get soundproofing. Thanks again!

      @SoundproofingStore  2 роки тому +1

      @@lebowskii98_9 We can completely understand not wanting to lose space, but you do need to weigh up losing a bit more space to get much better reductions. Thinner systems will have a compromise in results. SoundBoard 4 should help with the voices and give you some reduction in volume and clarity. If you can stretch to 60mm space loss this is going to help with a wider variety of the noises including the sockets, dog yapping etc and reduce all of the noises by a greater amount.

    If I was wanting to build an audio booth in a spare room out of wood and covering it with these panels, would that make for a good option? I have a few dogs next door I want to isolate and the occasional passing plane overhead.

    • @SoundproofingStore
      @SoundproofingStore  Рік тому +1

      Hi Peter Matthess, this wouldn't be the recommended option for an audio booth. You would need to use the ReductoClip Independent Wall System which is a higher performing solution and used for domestic situations, music studios, podcast studios and audio booths: ua-cam.com/video/R2gvGyE6kTE/v-deo.html

    Hi! I have a studio apartment or rather a hotel room up at the mountain which is really small. Like 20 m2, so I cant use more than 50mm at most to reduce sound. That is also due to kitchen installation that I don´t want to destroy with moving pipes and all that. What I have problems with is that my room is next to the elevator, and I can hear this "zumming" noise when it starts and when it moves. I am able to reduce it a bit by using foam earplugs(just checked). So my question is if this product Soundboard 4 is a product to try for this kind of noise, and can it also be used for ceilings? I have looked through all your videos and really appreciate the instructions you give. Thank you.

      Hi Tom - Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, it sounds like with this problem you will be getting a lot of structural vibration which will make up a large part of the noise you can hear. Just adding mass to the wall is very unlikley to really give you much improvement. You need a system which is de-coupled from the wall or at least has a great deal of resilience / dampening. Somethign more like our ReductoClip system - ua-cam.com/video/R2gvGyE6kTE/v-deo.html although it sounds liek your over in the USA. We are UK based so only supply our systems within the UK at this time.

      Thank you for answering me. That’s what I thought. Would it help me to use the Reducto clip direct onto the concrete wall, like you have done, with insulation and only one layer of heavy dry wall? I’m into saving the mm so I don’t need to move the kitchen cabinets and pipes😀

    • @SoundproofingStore
      @SoundproofingStore  Рік тому

      @@tomchristiansen1030 Yes you can install the system directly to the wall. Reduction isn't as high as being completely de-coupled but still very good. The more mass you line the system with the better, so yes you can reduce to one layer of dry wall, but this will limit results. If you need more, you can always add more.

      The below video shows installation on a stud wall. However, the theory is the same for a solid wall (but without having to add acoustic mineral wool or locate the studs to drill into):

    does this system works well with home cinema ?

    • @SoundproofingStore
      @SoundproofingStore  Рік тому

      Hi Khalifa Alyatama - We don't recommend this system for applications like home cinemas or music rooms. This is more designed for household noise, unless you are installing it onto an independent frame and creating a "room within a room". Instead I would recommend our ReductoClip system - www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/reducto-clip-system
