@@Bix12 whats funny is he does fitness stuff too, like ten years ago he was puttin out videos about his daily workout routines. and had a website for it and stuff haha. he's just one of us humans who won't quit at life ever.
I and Brian Dee humble love you Robert Martin. Can't wait to hug you. Imagine a skinny blonde haired from Philly with the best parents as vocalists wouldn't make it. Us in York and Middletown had no doubts how far you would go Robert. Ps. Brian Dee humble loved you so much
nearly sure that full show was on the telly in the mid 80s over this side of the pond ..bloody brilliant..Frank always played great solos and had fantastic musicians in his bands ...some vocals here
Bamboozled. ONE OF THEE BEST PERFORMANCES OF ALL TIMES!!!@Great fucking job! Nailed it supremely with extra toads available within the U.S. if you dial directly!
I’ve seen Frank perform live several times with Steve, and don’t get me wrong, Steve Vai is an unbelievably great guitarist! But when Frank started playing lead I could clearly see he was at a much higher level. I have seen 10 minute solos that had such an incredible continuity to them. I was totally amazed and feel very privileged to have been there !
That was back when he was learning from the master and keep in mind that he was only 18 when he joined Zappa's band. Ps:I've seen too many players doing vai songs like crazy but never in my life seen a good Zappa cover that includes a good guitar solo, the man was a monster virtuoso !! With all respect to Stive vai, he stills my guitar guru and I think he'll agree .
Bamboozled, Bamboozled, Bamboozled!!!!!!!! Bamboozled by love I said she fooled around too long Bamboozled by love, oh lord I said she fooled around too long!
They're pretty good musicians.. But it don't make no difference If they're good musicians because anybody who would buy a ticket to see a live Zappa performance doesn't give a fuck if there's good musicians in it.. Because this is a stupid concert. AND THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT!
Dear Robert a martin. I sure love you for being my ex husband's friend and also my friend. I pray since Brian dee humble passed a day that you are eating healthy. I love you Robert. Brian dee humble loved you Robert. I love you too
First album appearance was Tinsel Town Rebellion (1981) I believe but that was a different crew of Zappa musicians. If memory servers this version is from the DVD "The Torture Never Stops".
Bobby Martin is a fantastic vocalist.
And an excellent saxophonist and keyboardist as well! I mean, supremely talented.
Yes he is fantastic all around
He is amazing! He can move all over the place instantly, which makes him a great match for the very famous for being complicated Frank Zappa!
Amico mio tutti talenti indescrivibili ma faceva tutto FVZ ! Grazie per essere esistito...non sembra vero
That’s why he was with Zappa
Saw this 81' tour....CRANK SOME FRANK, HIS MUSIC LIVES FOREVER!!!!
I was at this show bro, it was amazing!
Zappa being the conductor in this makes me cry with happiness. such control over this crew
Da quale galassia è sbarcato quest essere??? Non mi sembra vero sia stato tra noi...per la vita Zappa' music
Long live the maestro....
@@FVZCB eh si
Bobby Martin is so tasteful. The dude plays french horn, keys, tenor sax and is arguably the best vocalist, in a pure sense, of all Zappa's bands.
A fine voice, but no Ike Willis.
When Steve Vai is the sixth best musician in the band...
And that's not an insult.
Giusta osservazione 😊...viva la musica del Maestro
😂 But could/would any other musician be able or willing to transcribe every note played and sung by the band?
Def
You hit the nail on the head ty
Bobby Martin just kills it, as Frank proudly beams at his talented singer and musician.
He's the best and from Philadelphia. Plus my deceased husband's best friend. He is a good and kind man . Schooled musician
very cool - sorry for your loss - you husband was probably musically inclined as well - You will see him one day for he is waiting in God's care - God bless you!
❤
What a sweet guy and amazing player
Zappa's bands were always a musicians band - showcasing lots of talent.
john luc ponty, george duke, tom fowler, oh, the oh so many others!
Someone please resurrect Zappa
Ulf Claesson
Jesus & otha COZMIC DBRIS, will git rite on dat!
LOL!!!
U have his recordingz. Datz KINDA SORTA, a resurrection, whenever u choose.
Othawise FZ, RIP my elder Brotha
Frank is still with us!
I got a defribulator....who has a shovel?
It would not be the same. Zombie Zappa would be rather creepy.
Bobby Martin is amazing!!!!
He is multi-talented and is on an amazing amount of other artists records
Yup

@@420protoman I can relate.....I'm one, too!
The only thing he's not good at is WOMEN... the way he's Bamboozled By Love and tied to The Whipping Post...
Along with everything else he was good at, Frank was a superb guitarist. Bobby Martin's voice could cut through steel like a laser.
The best rockin teenage combo I’ve ever saw perform live
I cannot believe it's been 25 years....but it has. I miss you, Frank
Amen. Greatly!
Now it's 30 years 😢
This guy can sing. Goddam :)
Bobby Martin, the moogs and the lonely heart 💓
Robert Martin has the best voice!! Unbelievable!

Bobby Martin is the greatest.
Funny to see a young Gareth before the Office UK on drums. And what excellent voice that singer have!
Very talented fellow indeed and as usual Frank brought out the best in him as the same as all the others
You should here him sing "Whipping post" He almost melts the mic.
What a Voice🤤...WOW
All Zappa tunes are just a vehicle for his amazing guitar solos......
I think they are quite more than that!
Many of his compositions are as great musically as anyone you'd care to name.....
Do you really think Frank Zappa composed all of his music as a vehicle to show off his guitar solos?
Have Steve Vai in your band and play the guitar solo yourself. That's something most musicians would not get away with :)
And why not? Frank's the better Guitarist.
Steve Vai was Franks "stunt guitar virtuoso" for the parts even he couldn't play that he came up with
Steve Bau IS a Technician, Zappa was an Arist. I Trade 10 Vai Parts for 1 Zappa Part.
I’ve seen Frank perform live several times with Steve, and don’t get me wrong, Steve Vai is an unbelievably great guitarist! wow !!!
Robert Martin Julliard 1971. I was there what a show.
Re: Steve Vai. He wasn’t a complete guitarist at this time. He was figuring out his tone and putting his whole concept together.
GRANDE BOBBY!
The blues lyrics all bluesmen really wanted to write but didn’t own their own record company
Amen. most cheated, but in the end, we take nothing with us, except the joy in expressing something for someone else to enjoy - that is God's gift!
10/10
does the beginning riff remind you of "Money" by Pink Floyd?
Totally!
Zappa always added rhythm from other song when playing Bamboozled.
There is version with Owner of lonely heart by YES.
;)
Really? :)
Yup
Absolutelly! It was the first thing that came to mind.
and 11 year old Chad on Bongos--kidding. i love the version with Denny Wally and that nasty dirty filthy slide guitar
With Ike Willis on vocals :)
...awesome
very very good.....................................................
no one like you!❤❤❤❤❤❤
love FZ
Mesmerising. Who can top that?
Totally
❤
I'm just an easy touch with no class - I still think "Whippin Post" was Bobby Martin at his zenith. This song was pretty good too
panther105 You must mean Tommy Mars
@@bretmiller317 ?? Not sure what you're referring to. I'm a huge Tommy fan, but he never sang Whipping Post or Bamboozled.
From what I hear his mom was an opera singer and his dad could play every instrument and I think he comes from Philly pennsylvania
Bobby sounds like Edgar Winter on this one.
Thank you, Edgar is one of my favorite musicians.
I was thinking the same thing!
heckin bamboozle fren
One of my least favorite Zappa songs (maybe this and "Brown Shoes Don't Make It), but a damn good performance. Fantastic vocals.
Wow this lineup! Anyone know why Tommy Mars left the band?
Am I the only one who thinks that Bobby Martin looks like a centaur??!
hehe yep. it's that damn perfect posture.
More like Mr. Tumnus
truer words never spoken
Yes.
Yup

Bamboozled! It's a gas. Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.

How they haven't been invited to perform this song at the national organization of women convention is beyond me.

It's blues
It Blues Rock with a Zappa twist.
This is the hymn of the jealous wife-beaters

You Are What You Is, NY Palladium 1981
Yes, there's a box set now of all the shows from Halloween 1981
i think somebody should dig up frank zappa's lawn-- you never know what you might find !!!
It's made up of footage from one of Zappa's annual Halloween concerts at The Palladium in New York City, on October 31, 1981.
Is the entire concert available on audio or video?
Steve Winans pretty sure, I forget the name but it has something to do with Halloween or hell. I’ll see if I can figure it out.
Steve Winans yep, it’s from the dvd The torture never stops
Frank’s cig stuck in his guitar strings

can someone tell me what this concert was?
Halloween, 1981, NYC, my first Zappa tour.
Besoz and friends....
Version with Ike Willis> this
I dont think so, all version > all version
What cd is this from?
First album appearance was Tinsel Town Rebellion (1981) I believe but that was a different crew of Zappa musicians. If memory servers this version is from the DVD "The Torture Never Stops".
in "tinseltown" was sung by His Greatness Ike Willis. the only musicians present here were FZ and Tommy Mars (kbs)
Something so silly taken that seriously
frank zappa ql sólo él contrata a Steve Vai para tenerlo tocando 0-3-3-5-3 0-0 5 3-0-3 todo el rato kkkk
