My theory for Reina is that she is like Steve Fox, a test tube baby that had survived the project of the Mashima Zaibatsu trying to create a synthetic Devil Gene, only the difference is that Reina survived AND had the devil Gene successfully implanted in her.
Yeah, especially since Azazel was purged in the process of Kazuya and Jin’s fight, meaning Azazel’s power would be removed from all devils he bestowed the power upon. Reina definitely has a cloned/synthetic Devil gene as it’s not part of Azazel’s power.
@@RedwindAndBeyond from what the story is trying to tell me, yes. Azazel is the reason the devil gene even existed, and Kazuya basically sucked him up like a vacuum into his own gene. Jin purged their devils, so Azazel basically dies in the process. Reina should have lost her devil if it was from Azazel’s lineage, but she still has it… so it’s sort of her own gene now.
Heihachi has a legitimate son with the devil gene: *“Where’s the nearest cliff?”* Heihachi has an illegitimate daughter with the devil gene decades later: *“I’m too old to care anymore. Not my monkey, not my problem.”*
Heihachi- I have a Daughter?!?! AND SHE HAS THAT BLASTED DEVIL GENE!!!!! WHERES THE NEAREST CLIFF!! Reina- Hi dad, I Love You!! Heihachi-... aww come to Papa, my Baby Girl!!!
I think we forget that Heihachi dabbled in unethical scientific experiments a lot. Reina's creation makes a lot of sense since she is his contingency to kill Kazuya and Jin, but "rational" enough to continue Heihachi's legacy.
My theory is that the Supersoldier program that Steve Fox was in, was just a prototype to truly perfect the genetic cloning project to have Kazumi and Heihachi's DNA be a powerful weapon against Kazuya long before Jin Kazama came to picture
@@arrownoir well you might be right and using his son's devil gene does make sense though but gathering the DNA of his dead wife would still be a biological way to have a child and I believe It needs to be done with a female and male gene. That is what I think.
Got to give props to Lee and Lars. Lars being revealed as a Mishima just said "eh, I have a waifu bot anyway". Then Lee despite being raised to be Kazuya's jealous adopted brother decided to be his own man and helps good people here and there though he is quirky.
Yeah given the she becomes cold and calculating and has that sadistic streak going on whenever she isn't faking all sweet and bubbly around Jin and the others, I thought the reveal would be she is actualy heihatchi in a new cloned body or something. Either way she's pretty badass and is who I main as
If young Heihachi ever had the devil gene no protagonist would be able to stop him. Unless Kazuya and Jin one day teamed up on him with their devil forms. Developers knew what they were doing making him miss out on the devil gene. Heihachi is so overpowered any child he has is a fighting prodigy. Only true rivals Heihachi has ever had were his own descendants
Reina is technically Jin's aunt. Also many people forget that Heihachi is trying to get Ogre's power for himself to fight the devil gene and those experiments failed as seen in the Tekken 7 retro recap. There's a high possibility that Heihachi is experimenting with his children and Reina is the one that was a success to unleash the devil gene since they have Jin and Kazuya's blood since T2 when Kaz was thrown to the volcano and Jin was shot in T3. I theorize that she is the product of Heihachi's experiments, weather she was loved or not or she just looked up to her father, she's the new threat in the Tekken series.
Man she bad no cap, the developers and the character designers know exactly what the public want, Juri Han wishes she would be as sane as Reina, both kinda remind me of each other
4:25 Heihachi hating the Devil Gene was a retcon in 7. In Tekken 3 he used Jin to lure Ogre out so he could capture him and even though Jin killed Ogre Heihachi managed to get some of his blood which he used to try and become immortal but found out he needed the Devil Gene and used the 4th tournament as a trap for Kazuya and Jin.
Reina is Heihachi's daughter but she has born in LAB! Reina has Devil Gene from Kazumi, yes, they kept Kazumi's dead body to make experiments with Devil Gene. This in short words: Reina is Heihachi's daughter x ovolation from some random woman + devil gene from Kazumi = Reina
Also, let's be fair. I think Reina, being a lab experiment with Heihachi's DNA that he willingly supplied, is the only way I see her having the Devil Gene and her being alive to tell the tale. Heihachi tries to kill anyone on sight if he knows they have the Devil Gene. I don't see Heihachi being merciful towards her when he wasn't merciful towards Kazuya or Jin.
My biggest complaint about Reina having the devil gene is Harada said in interview that Kazyua & Jin are the last two remaining members of the Hachijo Clan but out of no wear Raina just has Devil Gene.
True but he left himself an out. The way Tekken 8 story is crafted, Azazel gifted Devil powers to multiple people. Which means the Hachijo Clan would be one of many clans gifted the Devil Gene. It's sorta like him saying Heihachi has 18-25 kids running around. It gives him the ability to pull new Mishima out of his ass whenever he wants. T8's story gives him the same out with the Devil Gene.
@@ghost_kinggamer Kazama's were never wiped out though. Harada has said Jun was alive for years. Even if she didn't show up in T8, Asuka and Jin were still around.
See what you did there? You said Last two members of the Hachijo Clan but Leos father said in the Story that Azazel could give the Devil power to anyone so he probably gave the family of Reinas Mother the Devil powers too. So we can explain why she has the Devil Gene.
Fun fact: We get this info in the chapter selection archive of the Forgotten Echoes Story mode in TEKKEN 8. "In his wrath at having being forced to kill his own wife, Heihachi slaughtered every last member of the Hachijo household... save for one. Though the Hachijo name would be lost to time, there was yet one baby girl whom Heihachi permitted to live." That child is definitely Reina. Since it's not confirmed when Heihachi killed the last Hachijo prior to finding Reina who is younger than Jin and adopting her, Maybe it happened a few years before the start of TEKKEN 3 when Kazuya was reported dead, and Jin was living with his single mother in Yakushima.
I just fell in love with her in the game. She has an interesting personality and I really liked the idea of a female Mishima. Plus, I love her fighting style.
With new intel from the new story mode archives, Reina is apparently an adopted child. It states that after Heihachi wiped out all of the Hachijo Clan members, he spared the life of a baby girl who likely is Reina.
The time in the universe between Tekken 3 and up to Tekken 8 is only around 3 years. Jin was 19 in Tekken 3. Jin is 21 in Tekken 4 up to I believe Tekken 7 as well if not 7 then he would be until Tekken 6.
My theory is that reina is actually a genetic experiment daughter combining the devil gene with heihachis DNA and not a natural offspring between him and someone else. Either that or a genetic experiment designed to specifically absorb energies like the devil gene into her body. Which would explain why she was so interested in fighting kazuya and even taking on his lasers directly as if she was hoping to take in that power and convert it to her own use. It would make sense since she only reveals devil powers after she is defeated with kazuyas powerful attacks and not before
@@vikingfromnorth45 your right but it's weird we have not seen it anytime before this if that's true. And also...the hachijo reveal was like supposed to be a big deal in Tekken 7
I hope they experiment and add more story as dlc. Maybe make a named sequel like t5 dark resurrection. Would love to see more of Reina’s story before tekken 9 in like 10 years.
I think whatever Reina's origins, Heihachi had a more hands on approach to her development. As she shares a lot of his personality plus she knows quite a bit about key figures within Heihachi's sphere of influence (after she wins against Kazuya, she mentions that there is no cliff to throw him off of.) I also feel like tekken 8 wont be the last we see of Kazuya as at the end of the final cutscene before the credits it cut to Kazuya being approched by someone. If you look closely enough, the boots appear to belong to Jun.
We got the obvious answer but are left with theories for further questions (- ^ ) Yeah, there are possibly families other than Hachijo that are still cursed. Reina could be a genetic experiment with Kazumi's blood since we don't know what Heihachi did with his wife's body.
Maybe the Tattoo is just a Tattoo now and doesn‘t have any connections to the Devil Gene. We will only know it in Tekken 9 when Devil Jin isn‘t on the Roster.
@@samsonberry169 it also looked a lot less like a tattoo back then, seems to me they forgot about Jin’s mark real quick and made it a tattoo instead (Which he uses on a flag)
I dont know about Jin but Kazuya lost his red eye that got ever since he came back in tekken 4 so he probably has lost the devil gene for good. And since Jun apparently came to aid him after he lost we will probably get some kind of redemption arc?
This is so fitting on so many levels, especially considering that both Reina and Josuke are bastard children to their respective fathers (Heihachi and Joseph respectively), not to mention that they have their own nephews who are older than themselves (Jin and Jotaro respectively)!
Imagine she’s the only Child of Heiachi that he actually cares about which is why she respects him either kept her safe or made her be able to protect herself
I feel like Reina and Heihachi did have a relationship outside of the games, probably between Tekken 2 and 3. What likely happened was Heihachi wanted to see if he could raise a child with the devil gene that wouldn't turn out like Kazuya. Reina, of all of Heihachi's children and adopted children, is the only one that makes a promise to get revenge for Heihachi, not against. Heihachi was probably very open to her about her devil gene and what happened with Kazuya, and probably told her that she would be an unstoppable fighter with her power, which led to her superiority complex. It also makes sense that Heihachi would try to kill Jin in Tekken 3, as not only would there be no one to challenge Reina's strength with Kazuya's line, but it meant that Reina would be the one to inherit the zaibatsu after he dies.
Yeah that makes sense because why would she be so inherent on taking up the mantle, but the only thing that throws a slight wrench in this is that her character episode ending shows her accomplishing just that in whats later revealed as a daydream, and then at the end she says "Just Kidding" almost as a fourth wall mockery of the players suspecting that this is exactly what she was going to do. So i wonder is that really what she wants..or is it something else. I'm also betting Jun will be the one to face her and eradicate the gene later on since she just made a return but its not really explained directly for what
I mean, companies don't work like kingdoms. He can just give his controlling share of the company to reina. There's also the issue of why use jin to kill ogre when he has her.
@@fightingmedialounge519 A zaibatsu would, especially in a universe as over the top as Tekken. I would say the reason he used Jin to kill Ogre instead of Reina was for 2 reasons. The 1st being that Reina was still too young to fight Ogre, and Heihachi didn't want to risk his daughter dying to Ogre considering how dangerous of an opponent he was. The 2nd reason was that Jin's existence came as a surprise to Heihachi, and being the son of Kazuya meant he might have the devil gene, which would threaten Reina's power. He could have just killed Jin, but with him coming to Heihachi seeking revenge against Ogre, Heihachi had found a way to kill two birds with one stone.
@@sambarham8887 not really. Even zainatsus don't start off with futuristic technology. The fault in reason one is that heihachi puts his kids life danger all the time and reina should be around the same age as xiaoyou when she entered the tournament. The issue with reasoning two is that by your own theory heihachi would also suspect reina has the devil gene and would have reason to think she is a threat to him as well. More than jin even considering he raised her to be powerful and ambitious where as jin is some Forrest kid who only wants to avenge his mom.
Yo I actually have a theory I feel like Lidia is either the mother or trained reina a bit because a good chunck of Lidia's attacks and stances that aren't Mishima style are similar to reina's also a while back katsushiro stated that Lidia would be important to the future of tekken when she was released.
Reina is a strange character in tekken 8, i saw her moves that are similar to heihachi idk if she was an experiment or heihachi's secret daughter training her the mishima fighting, and the fact that the ending showed reina turning into a devil makes it more crazy so im curious to know what's next
Heihachi: I really should've thought about using protection. Now I have more kids than Fame Douglas. Kazuya: A little too late for that. And to make things worse, there's more of them out there. Jin: I have an aunt that's younger than me. Lars: I have a sister!? Heihachi: Like I said, I REALLY should've thought about using protection. Lee: Thank God I waa adopted.
@@HipHopFanatic-s8ynothing about tekken lore makes any sense. The Mishima style of parenting usually involves a cliff, volcano or a bullet. It’s been entertaining and confusing since 1994.
I’m in the camp of ‘Reina is an experiment of Heihachi’s design’. Steve Fox was created through experiments of Heihachi’s whilst he was in control of the Zaibatsu so it could stand to reason that he found a woman that he didn’t know was a descendant of the Azazel heritage but also implanted his DNA into Reina. Similar to how Raven Beak (the Villain of Metroid Dread) implanted his warrior DNA into Samus making her a capable Bounty Hunter; Heihachi may have done the same to Reina making her his surrogate Father. Considering how much Reina idolises him, maybe that was the case. Who knows. Either way, great video

Reina will have Kuma & Nina on her side soon I bet in the next game this coming from a newcomer Kazuya will find out that’s his lil sister & Jin will find out that’s his aunt
How would it make more sense? Kazuya wouldn't want to conceive another child without Jun he genuinely loved her, and the loss of her ate away at him. Heihachi, just being a player, or the modified clone theory, which is the only one that makes sense. He's the one with no attachments left.
@@d-jams he respected her, but love is more up in the air. We were given more evidence to suggest heihachi loved his wife, but the games still decided make him go on a world pump and dump tour.
I mean Heihachi’s father had a devil gene as well. So it’s possible that while Heihachi may be a carrier, he can’t fully go full devil. And as for Lars, maybe it skipped a generation. So far we know of his one sone Kazuma, his new “daughter,” Reina, both have the gene, then his other son Lars that doesn’t, and Lee who’s adopted so he doesn’t count. Hard to say how many other kids out there are devil carriers. Then again his motives seem strange. He’s married into a bloodline that has this evil mystical power. Yet tries to kill and eradicate it. Yet another mythical monster like ogre comes along. And he wants to harvest him to make super soldiers. As for Reina’s origins hard to say. She definitely has major love for Heihachi. So it is hard to say if she’s from this other devil family or a clone. Though Considering how hard Heihachi has tried to kill off the devil gene I find it hard to believe he’d try to X-23 himself with the gene. But as I said his motivations are confusing.
Reina is definitely fantastic addition to the cast. She’s charismatic as hell and Asami Seto does an excellent job bringing the character to life especially when her voice shifts from cutesy to menacing. She has a flashy, brutal, and well animated fighting style. It helps that she mostly has her own style instead of just being a Heihachi clone. Her visual design is simple yet feels distinctive. I’m glad Reina is going to be a mainstay in the cast. She’s a cooler and evil version of Asuka. Ironic as the purpose of their creation is thematic as Asuka was created as a replacement for Jun moveset-wise while Reina was created as a replacement for Heihachi moveset-wise. Reina is essentially how Asuka would turn out if she was a Mishima rather than a Kazama.
Can jin still access his angel from since he Cleanse the devil gene from the world is jin mother actually still alive and will renia become corrupt by the devil gene ?
hope they make a Heihatchi DLC with a mini story that he apperes in Reina's flash-back. also I theorize she Kazuya's clone not Heihatchi's thus make her literally his daughter
Reina is looking for the "ultimate power" that Heihachi mentioned in one of the earlier games. Being Devil Gene + Azazel Absorbed combined with The power of The Ogre (if ever found again)...
Heihachi Mashima spread his seeds across the land. Seeds grow into trees that bear fruit. Would you like an Orange, a kiwi, or an Apple? If you ask me I'm leaning towards Reina being a successful experiment of Heihachi trying to implant the Devil Gene into himself. A Subject 0 situation.
2:55 So in Tekken 6, Jinpachi was originally possessed by the Devil Gene, before being retconned as being possessed by an evil entity. I believe the two family lines bequeathed the devil gene by Azazel are the Hachijo and the Mishima. Historically, the Mishima were a line of warriors. Very capable historically but incapable of being accepted into higher society, likely due to their blood having tainted origins, being impure. The Hachijo were a line of warrior priestesses. Bidden with maintaining balance and reclaiming the other devil gene spirit should their complimenting clan go astray, as the Mishima had with the death and betrayal of Jinpachi. Granted the Mishima had been dealing weapons and war since WW1, but their leader held an admirable code of ethics and morals, before being usurped by his son. So, theory being, there are two devil gene spirits present for the family. One passed through the Hachijo, one through the Mishima. Though members of each family can carry the devil gene, and thus the potential to host this devil spirit, only one member of the family may be the active and suitable host at any one time. Jinpachi’s devil gene passed down through Heihachi, to Kazuya. Kazumi’s devil gene passed down, dormant through Kazuya, through Jun Kazama, a warrior priestess in her own right, to Jin Kazama. This creates an interesting paradigm, as the Hachijo are typically warrior priestesses, meaning their selected host would typically be a woman to compliment the Mishima’s selected male. This Kazuya’s desire to reclaim the devil gene from Jin for most of the series; to unite these two halves that were once whole within him, and once whole at the very beginning. So now, with Kazuya’s devil gene removed, freed from his body, and Jin’s purified, the remaining spirit would fall to the next suitable host. Since the Hachijo line’s heir purified and changed the devil spirit into an angel spirit, and Lars doesn’t carry the devil gene, Reina would be the only suitable option, especially with her recent awakening.
People seem to be missing something with the Devil Gene when it comes to the story now. It seems anyone can attain the power by being near death as she took Kaz’s devil beam point blank and that seemed to wake up it within her.
No Azazel has to give you the Devil Powers or one of your parents needs to have the Devil Gene inside them. And after that you can activate them with a near death experience. Not everyone can attain it just because they want it.
@@Trinioutsider34 no, that was change added to this story. The game outright says the holders of the devil gene were families given the power by azazel.
Ok, with Reina being introduced like this is a fantastic idea, but the devil gene I have a thought about. It's been seen as a evil or malevolent, which brings me to think as to why? Because I've noticed that the devil gene has been triggered through hostile or violent means, as we know with Kazuya, Jin, and now Reina. But what if it was triggered through a less aggressive means. I don't know if Kazumi's devil gene was triggered through similar means, but she seemed to have a more protective intention to stop Heihachi. And plus we with Jin resolving his inner struggles and change from devil to angel, it even more so raises the question. Is the trigger of the gene based on the situation?
The angel thing comes fom Jun side, since the Kazama clan has the power of purification. But what you said is partly true since Jin's devil side appeared more like a neutral being that tried to protect Jin instead of a creature of destruction. The whole evil thing is probably more about Heihachi raising those poor kids into being massive asshole with superpowers more than the power itself being inherently bad. Which makes Reina all the more terryfing since she is now the only (known) devil and she is apparently the favorite daughter of the man himself lmao
@@chrisgamer9099 It angel Kazuya even a canonically thing that happens in the story? He seemed to recognize Jin's angel form so maybe? In any case that's just further proof that the devil gene is just a neutral thing that depends on how its used rather than inherently evil (unless purple unfair lizard sends you bad dreams i guess)
I think Kazuya's and Jin Devil Powers are only gone temporarily. The Devil Gene will always remain within them, in my opinion. I think Reina will be sort of the anti-hero in Tekken. Her main goal is to kill Kazuya for Heihachi. I think at some point she'll learn what kind of man he was. It'll change her prospective of him. (He'll always be her father, but I think she'll learn he wasn't the best man as role model)
Theres potential of kazuya and jin getting there powers back, i mean changing genetic code is not easy, specially that there is no before state, they born born with it
I think she was born artificially spliced with the devil gene but I’m hoping that Heihachi did his due diligence and found out that there were other bloodlines that carried the devil gene and rizzed his way to raising his own doomsday weapon.
We know they made steve from ninas dna, so they probably used kazuyas or kazumis, and in most likely the blast she took from kazuya probably activated a gene
heres a take id like to see for tekken 9 it seems kazuya was picked up by Jun after his defeat maybe with her help Kazuya will be a good guy again like he was in the original and like Jin in a nod to Angel Embracing his good side at last kazuya will gain an Angel Form one pure and uncorrupted and no way related to the Devil gene a new, more Pure and noble form of the hachijos power in his blood and will help Jin regain his angel form and together the 2 angels will fight this new possibly more Powerful Devil Reina
You could be right about this prediction because I was thinking the same Kazuya could become a good guy in Tekken 9 similar to Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z where he turned good later on in the anime
I have a theory that Heihachi took Kazumi's dna/eggs after she died and did something similar to Reina like Steve Fox's birth, either a surrogate or test tube. Maybe his experiments with the devil gene got better and Reina became the most successful experiment
All I hope is she doesn't turn into the big bad. But I can see that being one of the main plots in 9 or 10 since she is now the only devil. Hopefully 9 will cover what happened to Jun/ the ending of 8 (if you know you know), and 10 will be about Reina.
I honestly wouldn't write off Reina being a clone or some kind of genetic experiment made by Heihachi as something out there, concidering Steve Fox's backstory.
Here's my perfect guess: if Reina was one of Heihachi's experiment then she could have got the devil gene from Orge. However, the reason why she was called Heihachi as father was because Heihachi is the owner of the experiment, so technically she is Heihachi's illegitimated children like Lars. . . . . .. So the twist of Tekken 8 was: Is she gonna be the second antagonist that does NOT related to the Mishima's bloodline? (Most Tekken games outside of 6 are Mishima characters being villains) I think she might, she could be the one who only had a motive of revenging Heihachi, which mean that she could take Kazuya and stole Jin's power
My only problem with Reina is that no one can tell she’s Mishimas child. In T6 Kazuya identifies Lars as a sibling because of the electric effect and she literally uses the electrics and no one pays attention
Technically, Heihachi's theory that he didn't possess the devil gene because of Lars isn't sufficient. It's entirely possible that he did, but that it's a recessive trait that doesn't manifest in everyone. As such, any of Heihachi's offspring could carry the gene knowingly or not. Running with this recessive gene theory, this would justify the lack of other devil activity throughout the years, and the probability of many, if not all of Heihachi's illegitimate children not knowing he is their father supports this as well. Another possibility is that Reina is a lab grown child of Heihachi and Kazumi, whose body he obviously had access to after he killed her. This would explain aspects of her fighting style, her enrollment into the Mishima Polytechnical School, and, of course, her possession of the devil gene. There are holes in both of these theories, but they're fun nevertheless lol.
Honestly, I don't see why Heihachi would be a Devil Gene carrier and that it just skipped Lars. I feel like Tekken 6, 7, and 8's build-up of his character from the devs is a waste then. And that would be a dumb sort of retcon. I wouldn't deny that theory, but it would just completely invalidate 16 years' worth of real-life development on the devs' side.
@d-jams Heihachi's hatred for the devil gene, at least partially, stems from his inability to access it himself. He could never love Kazuya nor acknowledge him as the potentially stronger fighter, and he used Jin's power to weaken Ogre in order to claim the latter for himself to expand his own strength. This is a stretch, but perhaps Heihachi's 18-25 kids were attempts to both test his own potential as well as his kids. Maybe Reina is simply the one that to show promise and get his attention. I admit the recessive gene theory is unlikely, but if they wanted to start a new devil generation, this is a way to do it. I imagine that if we don't get an expansion here, then T9 will feature Heihachi to flesh out Reina's backstory. Maybe he intended to use her, like so many in his life. Also, as far as T7 and Heihachi's recount of the series events, it's extremely likely that he would be an unreliable narrator, feeding the journalist what he wanted him to print, meaning that the devs could back out of any aspects or alter them if needed to make the overall plot more cohesive.
@fightingmedialounge519 plus Claudio in T7 says Heihachi is a human but has near supernatural strength. There are multiple times when it's confirmed that Heihachi is a human throughout the series.
Perhaps the painting of these two demons next to Azazel is not a reference to Jin and Kazuya, but to the first two people from the two clans that Azazel gave the power of the devil, one of whom is Hachijos, and the other who is not yet known to us, perhaps Heihachi after winning the second tournament and throwing Kazuya into the volcano, he had an affair a few years after the victory with some woman who belonged to the second clan, it may make sense because Reina looks only a little younger than Jin, for me Heihachi hid her from the world, he taught her the Mishima style and probably treated her well unlike Kazuya (Which explains her respect for him and desire for revenge) and before the fight with Kazuya he told her everything he knows about the devil gene or she found out something from the Internet or from a reporter whom Heihachi told everything (whether they knew that Reina had this gene I have no idea, maybe Hei knew, but he didn't want to do to her what he did to Kazuya), as you can see in part 8, she knew very little about the gene and that's probably why she joined Jin for information, Reina is not stupid and probably knew that without this power she wouldn't be able to kill Kazuya for killing her father, Reina is probably what heihachi meant by his "secret weapon" in Tekken 7, which is why she had no reason to appear in the earlier parts and only after his death because now he has a reason to kill Kazuya. This is just my theory, please share your speculations and observations.
As many said, she is probably a genetic baby with the devil gene artificially implanted. Why would heihachi do that? Maybe he forsaw he had very short time left (as Kazuya and Jin only became stronger and stronger) and needed someone to take over Mishima Zaibatsu, but only someone who could be strong enough to fight against Kazuya and Jin's devil genes. So he maybe thought the only way of doing this was by raising a son or daughter with the devil gene that actually raises up to admire him so he/she could take over Mishima Zaibatsu and pursue his ideals, and who knows maybe clone him like g corp did with Kazuya. I think Reina is an "in case of" plan of Heihachi . I also think that Jun was brought back for a reason and it wasn't only just to help Jin, I think she might be the only one with the help of his son to stop Reina's devil gene as she is known to have sacred powers that controls or at least weakens the devil genes power.
probably why she look younger than Jin, she might have underwent cryogenic sleep while experiemented, just like Nina, while I can this might be Tekken's Juri
Her devil form is kinda pathetic compared to her brother and nephew. The artistic direction is good though, people can easily see heihachi features, demeanour and movesets in her design. Just wonder what her goals are and where the story will continue from in the next installment.

I deadass thought it was going to be Heihatchi himself in a younger body, just like he always wanted
That's what i thought when Jin first fights her
Yeah given the she becomes cold and calculating and has that sadistic streak going on whenever she isn't faking all sweet and bubbly around Jin and the others, I thought the reveal would be she is actualy heihatchi in a new cloned body or something.
Point withstanding, I think Akuma counts.
Kazuya ain’t here for sibling relationships.
Azazel gave many families the devil gene not just hachijos
My exact thoughts
Yep
Wasn’t it NOT stated that Hei buried Kazumis body???? And not have kept it for experimentation?
@@dianceperez8540 I think Heihachi took blood from Kazuya and Jin during their youth.
@@darcrequiemTekken like's to wipe out whole clans, the Kazamas...the Hachijos

See what you did there? You said Last two members of the Hachijo Clan but Leos father said in the Story that Azazel could give the Devil power to anyone so he probably gave the family of Reinas Mother the Devil powers too. So we can explain why she has the Devil Gene.
@@Hoffanheim yeah I see your point
Fun fact: We get this info in the chapter selection archive of the Forgotten Echoes Story mode in TEKKEN 8.
"In his wrath at having being forced to kill his own wife, Heihachi slaughtered every last member of the Hachijo household... save for one. Though the Hachijo name would be lost to time, there was yet one baby girl whom Heihachi permitted to live."
That child is definitely Reina.

How the hell is Jin still 22 years old? It’s been like almost 20 years…
I guess he has good genes..
The time in the universe between Tekken 3 and up to Tekken 8 is only around 3 years. Jin was 19 in Tekken 3. Jin is 21 in Tekken 4 up to I believe Tekken 7 as well if not 7 then he would be until Tekken 6.
The games timeline is only 3-5 years. He was either 17 or 19 in Tekken 3
@@BigRyse97He was 19 and it's been about 3 years since T3 in Tekken canon
My theory is that reina is actually a genetic experiment daughter combining the devil gene with heihachis DNA and not a natural offspring between him and someone else. Either that or a genetic experiment designed to specifically absorb energies like the devil gene into her body. Which would explain why she was so interested in fighting kazuya and even taking on his lasers directly as if she was hoping to take in that power and convert it to her own use. It would make sense since she only reveals devil powers after she is defeated with kazuyas powerful attacks and not before

Would love to see more of Reina’s story before tekken 9 in like 10 years.
Oh man Bandai Namco and Harada have to bring the Tekken Games much faster than 10 years man.
Your theory about genetic cloning isn’t crazy and, unless they do something far crazier like soul possession, it seems like the most logical option.
We got the obvious answer but are left with theories for further questions (- ^ ) Yeah, there are possibly families other than Hachijo that are still cursed. Reina could be a genetic experiment with Kazumi's blood since we don't know what Heihachi did with his wife's body.
Guys I don't think the devil gene is gone from jin and kazuya Because if it is why hasn't the tattoo left on its body
Maybe the Tattoo is just a Tattoo now and doesn‘t have any connections to the Devil Gene. We will only know it in Tekken 9 when Devil Jin isn‘t on the Roster.
@Hoffanheim But he didn't have it when he was born. jin got it from the devil, and at the end of the story mode, it's still on there
@@samsonberry169 it also looked a lot less like a tattoo back then, seems to me they forgot about Jin’s mark real quick and made it a tattoo instead (Which he uses on a flag)

I dont know about Jin but Kazuya lost his red eye that got ever since he came back in tekken 4 so he probably has lost the devil gene for good. And since Jun apparently came to aid him after he lost we will probably get some kind of redemption arc?
Tekken 9 will be her going to war with Jin and Kazuya. And a reemergence of heihachi
::Screaming in Old Joseph Joestar voice:: OHMYGOD! HORYSHET!
I'm also betting Jun will be the one to face her and eradicate the gene later on since she just made a return but its not really explained directly for what
You're theory seems more logical
More than jin even considering he raised her to be powerful and ambitious where as jin is some Forrest kid who only wants to avenge his mom.

Nah Jinpachi was possessed by a totally different spirit from the mountain he was trapped under. It wasn’t genetic.

Ironic as the purpose of their creation is thematic as Asuka was created as a replacement for Jun moveset-wise while Reina was created as a replacement for Heihachi moveset-wise. Reina is essentially how Asuka would turn out if she was a Mishima rather than a Kazama.

hope they make a Heihatchi DLC with a mini story that he apperes in Reina's flash-back.
also I theorize she Kazuya's clone not Heihatchi's thus make her literally his daughter
With the recent release of the new story DLC, I guess that now would be a good time to revisit Reina's real heritage on the matrilineal side.

Are we getting more street fighter history
2:55
So in Tekken 6, Jinpachi was originally possessed by the Devil Gene, before being retconned as being possessed by an evil entity.
Okay so the dna thing totally makes sense. Especially with the way that everyone was seeing heihachi while they were fighting her
People seem to be missing something with the Devil Gene when it comes to the story now.

I WAS WAITING FOR DIS
@gabrielemblem605 What about back in Tekken 2, Kazuya had an Angle as well. Even tho if was brief, which might have drawn Jun to him as well.
@@chrisgamer9099 It angel Kazuya even a canonically thing that happens in the story? He seemed to recognize Jin's angel form so maybe? I think Kazuya's and Jin Devil Powers are only gone temporarily. The Devil Gene will always remain within them, in my opinion. I think Reina will be sort of the anti-hero in Tekken. Her main goal is to kill Kazuya for Heihachi. I think at some point she'll learn what kind of man he was. It'll change her prospective of him. My theory is that Heihachi's cells were recovered by G Corp and reconstructed through IVF and Devil Gene tech.
This character is going to upset people more than Lars
Actually she is popular
I like the clone idea.
My theory of Reina is A tekken 3. Where Heihachi was looking for ogre to mix with his blood and jins blood
I think she was born artificially spliced with the devil gene but I’m hoping that Heihachi did his due diligence and found out that there were other bloodlines that carried the devil gene and rizzed his way to raising his own doomsday weapon.
I love reina she is my main character i hope her devil form will be playable either as dlc or in the next game
If there is a Tekken 9 in the future then
Reina will ba a Big part of it
Here's my perfect guess: if Reina was one of Heihachi's experiment then she could have got the devil gene from Orge.
Her face looks almost exactly like Kazumi. I'd say she's a clone of her or a reincarnation
The issue is that if heihachi was the one who passed on the devil gene he wouldn't need it in four to fuse with ogres DNA.
It's only going to be a matter of time before we get to see the whole story of Reina in Tekken 9.
I figured she was kazuya's daughter and like dear old dad she has a soft spot for Grandpa
Fact we got Lee and Reina before Lars is criminallllll
the fact that she idolizes him is more of a sign she DIDN'T have contact with heihachi imho
I don't understand why Reina even exists. This could've been the final instalment.
It wasn’t just for jin vs kazuya
I find her pretty interesting, especially since she actually likes Heihachi.
probably why she look younger than Jin, she might have underwent cryogenic sleep while experiemented, just like Nina, while I can this might be Tekken's Juri
Can we please get a video on Jack and his evolution
They shove Jin's cousin(Asuka) to a background character but don't mind adding an uncle(Lars) and another relative(Reina) to the Roster.
Her devil form is kinda pathetic compared to her brother and nephew. The artistic direction is good though, people can easily see heihachi features, demeanour and movesets in her design. Just wonder what her goals are and where the story will continue from in the next installment.
