Helene taught us we all need to be ready to leave and survive for days. Shelter, light, warmth, water and purification/filtration, food, and a way to cook. You may only have seconds to grab those essentials and it can mean the difference between a horrible survival or a relatively comfortable one. Those well-stocked bug out bags may have been the difference for those mountain folks.
You did a really great job without using unnecessary statements you just got a new subscriber!
@@OffGridTraveler 😆 thank you.. that may have been a fluke though , because I feel like unnecessary statements are my specialty! 🤣 thanks for watching and subscribing!
great video, ive just always told myself that the number one rule of prepping is dont let anyone know about your prep. your information is super helpful though!
You have a nice setup with your location. I’m looking for something similar. Only thing I would recommend is just keep your preps ready to pack up and be mobile quickly. You never know what could happen. A forest fire could roll through and destroy everything you’ve accumulated
I keep myself a list of stuff I don’t want to forget in case I have to move quickly
Good idea.. I actually just put a video out on that very thing last month.. you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/AmqMn5hDXSk/v-deo.htmlsi=i_1Fv5qt7jbldHUv
Thanks for watching!
You should heavily prune back that apple tree. Get rid of ALL the thin fragile branches. It'll focus growth on fewer thicker branches and give you more light penetration too - that should increase your yield pretty good. Having fewer but larger and better quality apples is well worth it.
I love your property. I would like to make a suggestion that could help with the gardening. if you put your chickens on deep wood chip bedding. and feed them all your scraps they will work that wood chips and break them down, fertilize it with their droppings and turn it into compost for your gardens. That compost will help feed your soil allowing you to have better harvest.
Don't you have to wait a year or 2 for chicken droppings to be safe for garden use? I heard that but am not sure it its true.
Dude it’s been a min you posted hope the family is doing well and man that’s a nice shop one day I want a shop like that! Stay safe brother
@@ltoutdoorsman what’s up buddy! Yep we’re all doing well.. yeah having a shop definitely makes like easier ! 😉 hope all is well with you too, Take care!
Thanks man! Definitely appreciate the walk about. It’s great to see what you have going on! Great work
Good for you brother living the dream!
Nice video from a fellow Idahoan!
@@donnahoffman1855 hello fellow Idahoan! Thanks for watching. Glad you liked the video! 👍
You need to make more videos. My friend because I like your channel. I prefer as well. I live alternatively you live outdoors. I live at my Van pot time but soon going full-time so I can get out of the clutches of the system and The Matrix.
Thank you, I will try.. my day to day life outside of UA-cam is chaotic! 😂
Great video brother! Great to see you back
@@LostInNorCal thank you, i appreciate it! Thanks for your support and thank you for watching!
Wow man, your property is someting else. Looks amazing
Thanks for the update & tour .. great setup brother take care
A Faraday cage or Faraday shield is an enclosure used to block some electromagnetic fields. A Faraday shield may be formed by a continuous covering of conductive material, or in the case of a Faraday cage, by a mesh of such materials.
Looks like a dream property. I want to be this organized. Thanks
Awesome video but I agree with the previous comment on force protection, wouldn’t tell anyone where you live or what preps you have if/when SHTF. That said, your setup gave me ideas of how, what and where when I start on mine some day.
Be careful storing firewood up against your house. Wood walls become infested w bugs easily. Also i had just the nesting boxes of my chicken house insulated but we double walled w plywood over the insulation & it has worked great that way for years.
Thanks for the tips! And thanks for watching!
Beautiful property!
Very cool idea staging it to back your truck up to load
@@MousyLeigh thank you, yeah it definitely makes loading things up much easier.. thanks for watching!
Beautiful property. I’d love to get my family set up like that!
The weather going to start getting colder campers we got to get ready for it
@@OffGridTraveler that’s for sure! Thanks for watching!
Cool tour. Thanks for sharing!
Ha Ha, I also have a deep hole in my backyard-keeps the kids busy!
Put nitrogen for your apple tree. Smaller fruits are sometimes a sign of lack of nitrogen in the soil.
Nice job amazing video God bless
@@angelacarrasquillo2940 thank you so much I appreciate that.. glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! God bless!
Really nice!
Thx so much for showing us round, I’m from Australia so find it very interesting coz unfortunately never made it over there and always wanted to 👍✌️
@@martinj2843 glad you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for sharing and watching! Hopefully someday you can visit!
How are things in Australia? Has the govt been trying to take control like here?
@@CGI929 not really no, but I’m sure that might happen lol
@@martinj2843 let’s pray they don’t
Nice set up brother!
After watching this video. I don't understand the "Bugging Out" concept, unless it is a wildfire, or just a housefire situation. If so you may want to store your BOB's some where other than in the house. Thanks for the video.
Hope you have good security. Everyone know what you have and where it's at now
Nice set up, you may wish to consider a fire proof grounded steel cabinet to store the lubricants
Beautiful …I certainly envy you. I’m hoping to buy land soon and build my own homestead
Long time, no see!
Nice homestead Thanks for sharing. I had the same issue with my coop insulation chickens peck the crap out f it. Lol
Thanks i was asking about the shed awhile back
@@BrandonL-g1v you’re welcome, hopefully this video answered your question. 😃.. thanks for watching!
We also got a big playground during Covid
@@MousyLeigh they’re great to have for sure! 😉
Nice video, Thin those apples!
Good luck to you my friend, all these you tubers with prep channels will be first to go... You need a bug out location
Nice place
@@philipedwards8762 thank you, I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
when I was a younger man who taught handgun and rife, shooting for both LEOs and civilian types later I spoke with church and social groups about food preservation and supplies acquisition. I am now a 75 year old grumpy type)…..it always amazed me was that almost all people who have prepped for end times….and had their bunker and armory and 20 years of food and toilet paper, but they all have the same problem a road leading to their location, is like a sign in the yard saying free stuff, it serves no purpose to live remote with a road that leads to the prize. Whether you live a mile from civilization or a hundred you have to create a way to camouflage and hide the driveway. “Out of sight truly is out of mind” think like a wolf would, plan, and prepare in that mode not like a bunker survival type, that is going to take action after the clown show shows up. 90% of your potential threats will move on down the road.
The one problem is your consteuction is in wood, if there is a fire you will lose all. Make a shelter of concrete.. wood is bad for fire... sorry about my poor english ;)
Low key jealous of the property my man!!!
@@brianacuff6065 😉thanks for watching and sharing! I appreciate it!
Although a lot of this stuff is nice to have, most of it is wasted money.
You forgot to mention your main project, working on your son's awesome Halloween costume for the past month!! Very lucky kid!! ❤
@@HomesteadHealing yeah, he’s a spoiled little boy! 😆 🤖
Great Video. I'm actually Elk Hunting right now in Hells Canyon outside Cambridge Idaho and got Signal and saw you dropped a video? Got my ear buds in and decided to take a break before I head over a couple of ridges. Stockpile all you can because I think it's gonna get real bad after the Elections. Thanks for Sharing!. ✌️😁
That’s awesome! Love to hear that! Good luck on your hunt! Thanks for watching!
Great setup! Do point our your safety stuff such as I noticed a few fire extinguishers. Good to have. I too raise chickens and like to keep them from my foam insulation yet anything but wood they like to peck at. Do you have extra heat to keep them warm in winter or does their body heat keep that little coop and nest area warm enough? Great video though, enjoyed your organization and order : )
Very few sleeping bags can be stored compressed most will loose R value wiggys can be stored compressed
Thats not even compressed... High end down at 850 and above have no issues being stored compressed...
@@michaelfranks341 yes it does Check with the manufacture down compress too long will break down
You sure those water barrels are 55 gallons each? They look like the smaller 30 gallon barrels only being as tall the genset.
Wow! That’s quite the set up! Question: do you collect the chickenpoop? It’s one of the best fertilizers!
I know that retaining wall is your bunker...
Hey Joe! Good to see you back! Everything is so nice and organized 🤩 It doesn’t look insulated in there so how do you keep all the fluids from freezing? It got so cold in my shop last winter birds were freezing to death 🥶
@@joey_the_farmdawg Hey!… yeah, the shop isn’t insulated.. if I have liquids in there in the winter, they will definitely freeze.. the chickens do ok.. if it gets really cold, I’ll turn the heater on in their coop.. but when I do that they usually don’t ever leave their coop 😆 hope all is well with you in Montana!
Treeline WAY too close.
What part of Idaho are you in ? We moved to Idaho about a year and a half ago :) would love to meet like minded ppl
is that the 204 Yost. I have the same one
Am i allowed to ask what you do for a living? Also you have my dream set up pretty much.
What are you going to take with you, if you have to bug out?
Also, if you have to bug out with basically just a backpack [what you can carry]?
The only problem about you, my friend. I hardly recommend you don't tell everybody about everything you do. Tell people your perspective. Do not tell them exactly what you do and definitely do not tell him your Location on UA-cam. My friend because remember this when things go crash. People who are not interested in prepping are also watching these UA-cam channels. And guess what when things go Downhill. Guess what? They're coming when they're not afraid to come to people like you and me. So trying not to give him no locations or give him too much information about your prep and stuff personally. Just some advice for you, my friend.
@@skapunkoialternativeliving6522 too late.. I’ve already been doing this for over two years now.. so it is what it is! Thanks for the concern!
@@idahoprepperYou're more than welcome. Great videos keep on making appeals. I live alternatively myself. I have a camperman/bug out vehicle.
@@idahoprepperkeep doing what you’re doing man. I saved all your videos just to be sure!
Are you sure he's the fly and not the spider
@@tobyalsip9403 What do you mean by that?
Just out of curiosity, you don't leave that bow sitting out there do you? Should be kept in a case indoors temp controlled so it doesn't ruin the limbs, cams, or string.
What was the brand of the big bug out bag?
It appears that you're on the grid. A homestead is not tied into the grid. When shtf hits you will freak out when your refrigerator and your freezer no longer works instead of spending so much money on some of this stuff that you spent money on maybe you should have put in maybe I don't know a root cellar that can second as a fallout shelter. But what do I know I grew up off grid in West Yellowstone Montana my grandfather founded the town and we had root Cellars we didn't have electricity we didn't have running water we dug our own Wells and we didn't depend on the municipality for anything and if you've ever been to Montana you know we can get snow storms there overnight 5 ft of snow and you could be stuck in your place for weeks at a time there's other ways to cool your place then using electricity you can use solar
A homestead is not tied to the grid?? Where did you come up with that idea??
@idahoprepper according to the government since the founding of the United States a homestead is something that you Homestead a piece of land that you build a home on with your own two hands that you develop and you create a place to live. The federal government States what a homesteader is. And you do not meet that definition. My grandfather homesteaded half of the town of West Yellowstone Montana he scraped out a living he built a hardware store he built a sawmill he built a Runway and he built his own home out of the logs that he fell on his own land. Legal definition in Alaska to Homestead is a vacant piece of land not attached to the grid and you must live on that piece of land for no less than 12 months without any assistance from the outside. You must create a place to live in you must hunt on your own land and you must grow on your own land to survive for 12 months for your property to be considered a homestead via the state of Alaska. A homesteader is somebody who started from scratch without being tied to the grid.

The Homestead Act of 1862 was a law that gave citizens and intended citizens the opportunity to claim 160 acres of public land in exchange for living on and improving it. The act was signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War and was in effect until 1976
