The free man is he who does not fear to go to the end of his thought.
Dude is just living his best life. Good for him. More people should do what they love and have fun. Life is way too short not to.
I agree, but if he is suppose to be bugging out I hope no one finds him for his sake, .I think they will end up with some nice stuff. 🤣🤣
@@runningman1156 Doubt it.
My wife and I stayed a month in a very similar outfit while running a trap line. The solar generator is a God send. A couple words to the wise if staying long term in a camp like this. wool blankets, the inside of tent temp will drop drastically as you allow the wood fire to die in the stove , you and your bed will experience condensation in a canvas tent when that happens. Only 100% wool will keep you warm, do not sleep in the tent with a roaring tent stove, have a smoke alarm and CO. Detector as well. Use several wool blankets w a thick foam over air self inflatable mattress. We use Metal boxes to keep our food in, and do not eat in the tent. A bit of crumbs is all it takes for a hungry rodent to chew it's way into your tent. Cut all the firewood you need for the whole time you will be there, then cut more... and pile it. Then cover it good. Make sure to cut a lot of small stuff for kindling wood, and have tinder ready to go. For the whole time. Do that day one. You can get sick, or injured, in that case you won't be bucking logs, but you could feed a fire if everything is prepped material wise, then you don't freeze to death because of a mild illness you'd otherwise survive.
Last but not least, have several methods of staying clean. Portable shower, shop towels, baby wipes, alcohol, soap... Long term camp in the cold means what worked today may not work when you're freezing.
May I say? The Modular Military Sleep System uses what? A really good day of research on UA-cam will enlighten one a lot regarding that question. For advanced outdoor living... Question: What is the Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System. UA-cam research will teach you that in one afternoon. Let US not forget the FREEDOM part. Now then. One more question? How many "Puffer/Sherpa" layers are you wearing under your "Amazon"...(Capitalism! Not brought to you by the American Trucker...) "Rain Gear". I love my USGI Poncho and "woobie". Probably the best on the Market today! And my Mountain Hardware "Ozonic" Rain Gear Tops and Bottoms are indispensable. But the 33,000 Ft kind is cheaper and highly functional. ("Three Piece Suit.")
Question? Do you wear those furs, and eat them too? Why do you spend money? Threads... Feed... They did it 10,000 years ago. Thank you for sharing! An interesting... How to say... Wool does insulate when wet! (Especially socks.) What is the percentage of wool that has to be in the socks to insulate when wet? Have you tried water proof socks from Amazon?
@@davidturner3014 wool items normally retain the percent of heat equal to the percent of wool when wet. 80% wool retains 80% of its insulative quality 70% wool retains 70% of its insulative quality. So 100% wool is the best, it is also far easier to keep clean.
What kind of Baufeng radio are you using ?
It's always good to see someone doing what they enjoy.
I went to the extreme with my bug out base camp. I sold the home in Texas, moved to the Alaskan interior and made by base camp my permanent home.
Small game snares will be back in stock within the week! I’ll keep you all updated as soon as they become available again! Thank you for your support and patience!

I plan to buy a few tips. Not sure I grasped fully the setup. I'll watch again. I live in Georgia. I'd like to me more proficient with snares but it would not be hard for me to procure critters where I live. I like to say "everything in Georgia either wants to be eaten or wants to kill you". I love Idaho and dreamed of living there as a kid but love Georgia. Please let us know. I'll be paying attention for them.
Tins not tips.
@@gilbeke sounds good, I’ll definitely keep you updated on the snares! Idaho is a great place to live for sure! Thanks so much for watching!

A lightweight tarp slightly larger than the floor dimensions of the tent makes for a great rain cover, and with approximately 12 inches of standoff between the tent and the tarp in the summer months, the tarp provides a great shelter from the sun and allows for the tent to stay cooler inside.
A tarp and blanket under the tent as well. !
Love the video. My thought on it is that in the event of a bugout you can't really have a fire. Those who might want to find you so that they can take what resources you have can smell your fire a mile away. Also you probably don't want to sleep in a tent or anywhere in plain sight. If someone does come to take your stuff they will probably choose to attack the camp while you sleep. So, sure, put up a tent, give them that target. But sleep off the trail, on the ground where you are unlikely to be seen and you can see your camp and the area around it.
11:23 If you truly care about the cutting edge on your prize knife, the ferro rod is very unkind to it. Better to use a 90 degree spine of the knife to strike the ferro. Looks like a nice setup. Thanks for sharing.........
I have a similar tent from White Duck Down. For those style tents it’s recommended to set the tent up. Then spray it with a hose/sprayer with water. Wetting it down will shrink the cotton fibers and naturally water proof it. I’ve hunt/ camped with ours and it weathered heavy rain for 2 days. Never leaked. For your stove pipe I use a small pipe collar slightly modified to closely fit the pipe to shed the water away from the opening in the tent. I love the video you made and will be buying your survival products soon .
Great advice, after the first couple rains it was exposed to, it definitely seems to have become more waterproof.. thanks for watching!
Any waterproofing spray materials going to take at least 24 hours to properly dry always keep an OD green tarp in your gear
Thank God, your the first smart guy pre cutting the vegetables and preparing things at home before the trip .👍
Philadelphia checking in. I agree 100% about the comment on the show Alone. Every contestant seems to struggle with snairing small game. That is a huge part of survival! Even this man from the city knows that. I enjoy your content. Keep it up.

Glad you shared the variety of things you have! I saw some stuff I'll be adding to my supplies! Thanks!
I have the 3000 series pecron and it runs my lights, small refrigerator, and my nighttime fan for 4 days at camp. A fine piece of equipment. It’s lithium ion. I would prefer lifepo4, but what they don’t tell you is that you can’t charge lifepo4 below freezing. (Unless you have a built in battery heater). So after saying that, I’m glad I got this one. The price is right and you don’t need all the app knowledge. Very simple and productive. Solid piece, a little heavy but hey, it’s a battery.
Brother you made my day …possibly the best video ever made …as a long term proper….having a EDC n my truck and 20 pound emergency back pack also in my truck ….you have showed me some. New things ….well done….from Australia ….
Are some of those fire wall branches Birch?
The most flammable bark available.
TI's actually a great fire starter!
I keep a couple large rat traps and some fishing yo-yos along with some cable snares. Grouse and ptarmigan are easy to catch with the rat traps and fishing is done without my presence. I have a few other small items to assist me in procuring sustenance without making loud popping noises.
That firestarter made me have a hankering for some yams for some reason.😂
Since you own the property have you ever thought about building a permanent dwelling like a dugout or small survival cabin? I'm planning to Bug-In, I live in Northern New Mexico 50 miles south of Albuquerque and 8 miles out of the nearest town but right on the Rio Grande, there's only 2 other cabins on my road and they are both preppers also so we have a plan and 99% of it is already put together.
Joe, I like your camp setup. You seem like you thought out every angle except a water source. Steel wool will work for your fire starter as well as guitar pics (the nitrocellulose) ones. Please use the spine of your knife on the ferro rod....it'll save your sharpness. Pack some long tongs for your grilling to get your hands away from the heat. The saying goes as, "One is none, and Two is One,"
Cool video but, I cringed when you used that blade to strike your fire steel.
Take every knife to the bench grinder and ice skate sharpen a small spot on the spine. Works great and it won't ruin your expensive tools you need to stay sharp.
Cool video this is my first view.
Subscribed.
I love Melinda's! That said you're a braver man than me. I'd be booking it through the pines with pants down before first light. Fire in the hole!
Big 👍🏻. I used Thompsons water seal on my tent. It worked 👍🏻
Why would anybody buy a tent that's not waterproof?
🎉great video!
With having your own property like that, you ought to consider building a small shack to store some gear, etc, maybe even a cabin from one of those Amish storage shelters or copy it.
Corporals Corner built a nice cabin like that that ge stages some of his videos in. Also he has like a tarp shelter on a wooden frame etc... possibilites are endless. Would make a great "build" video
Man! Forgot the coffee? Somebody would be going to get it if I was there.

I'm very impressed and love your content. keep it up!
If you can own the land there's a good place to put a bug out defensive spot. If you don't know or own the place, you can be chased off or shot if you try to occupy somebody else's land... No need to take a chance.
As a thought experiment I have concocted a place to bug out to which you own and which has real defensive dimensions. We have to be real and realize that there's no need to bug out into places where other people will be. Somebody's always gonna be stronger than you in one way or another. I model my ideal defensive position around the USA Vietnam era firebase. Although in one big film a firebase is totally overrun that would not ordinarily happen because a good base has claymore placed outward on foot tripwires, ohh kinds of booby traps. And that line of defense is way out beyond your personal perimeter. Usually the kids will reset new claymores for you and you don't risk an able bodied defender..
It will take at least four people to keep one able bodied shooter in action. cooking and feeding them is a big deal if you want to keep your corner defense active. Very careful support staff that can cook almost anything and bine wounds would be an ideal 6 to 1 caretaker to shooter. don't give a small child a portable radio. A well defended prepper firebase still has to think ahead about a dozen injured women who show up with crying babies asking for your shelter.
I hope your catastrophe is not as bad as an EMP losing all electricity. Weather reports tell you what's coming otherwise. If you live in a condo or around lots of other people your only chance is to bug out to a very close by military base. Go early and try to talk your way in.
Cover the tent with another tarp. It works well.
Really enjoyed watching this video. New fan. From West Virginia

Not as prepared as you thought...I keep my stuff either in my backpack or a bucket... i also have a water tight toat for my generator as well as a 120 watt panel... cables for light/ usb, phones music and laptop...other stuff i wont put on here...
Greetings from Couer D Alene! Glad I found your channel. God bless.
Hey, u need to apply water proof stuff with tent dry and let it dry. Just use tarp till can do.
Ive found thoes small stoves are worthless in 35 to 40 degree rainy weather if you want to warm up and dry out, go larger with the stoves in warmer weather. Because being hypothermic really sucks, and wet down sleeping bags really suck too
Great video, great camp.
we need to work as a society a bugout one cause people are going to target us and we need to defend
Exact tent I was thinking about buying, this is very helpful thanks.😊
Great stuff man. I have 14 acres hidden out in the mtns of central idaho. Hope to be home soon. Well done 👍.
Thank you! That’s a good chunk of land! Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Blue white cap? Would think with the latest news this week everyone should be in camo head to toe. This is not grampas war anymore, we are on the doorstep of Armageddon.

Love this video, I never hv seen a snare set up. I been wanting to try this . Just a suggestion- try rolling a pinch of the dough between ur hands ,flatten between ur hands and toss back and forth between ur hands , takes practice but it will be perfect and even flat fry bread . I never tried the sour dough ,I sure will after this video. Tortillas every day tho.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely give that a try next time.. thank you for watching!
I enjoy watching your videos.. I love the outdoors but i also live in west virginia so thats about all there is to do here..

How in the world did you forget to bring the coffee?!?! That is the number one, most important, supply that absolutely must be brought when camping!!! I wouldn't have survived, so I have to at least give it to you for that. 😂😂 I mean I would have absolutely parished if I woke up and realized I didn't bring any coffee! 😂😂

how do you prevent water from coming in the vent for the stove when there’s a heavy downpour?
I did enjoy the video, first time viewer.

How long you bugging out with a packback for that you need to plant crops lol

Solid camping outfit. Not sure this is a bugout base camp, have you seen the drone action in the Russia/Ukraine war? Maybe it's just me, but, if the land is yours, I'd be focusing on a cave or something underground for your crew...
Yeah.. it is more for entertainment purposes than an actual Bugout location.. I have a different Bugout location that isn’t nearly as pretty!! Thanks for watching! 😃👍
Would a trailer not be better then a sled ?

New sub here. Good vid. So how did the tent do? Did it really get put to the test? Any rain? Would be interested.
Also, what's the story on your in-tent wood stove? Titanium or steel? Brand? Happy? No link in video info. I tried searching your vids with key word "stove" and not seeing a review etc.
You made 1 MAJOR.. mistake . Striking that ferro rod Inside the tent @ 3000* F you would burn a hole in any tarp floor and defeat waterproofing and snow coming up through the bottom.
I cant seem to see in your links what kind of tent stove you used inside tent. It was the one with chimney. Can you please share a link please.
