Really felt your disappointment, and know exactly how you feel! Climbed Huashan from base to the top with my Chinese wife (girlfriend at time) 3 years ago, and were exhausted when we got to the top by the evening! Been to China and traveied around 8 times and this particular trip i came from Australia specifically to do the plank walk! Stayed in the cabin on East peak overnight and got up super early for the sunrise, and then did that special little climb that you highlighted at the end of video, which is called the 'Chess Pavilion'. By the time we got over to the South Peak for the plank walk, my girlfriend decided i was too tired and that it was too dangerous to do the plank walk!! Anyway after a bit of an argument in front of everyone she took my bag and i lined up for the plank walk! The line was long and i left my iphone in my bag so couldn"t take any videos, as well as my climbing gloves you buy there; and my hands were sweating up because it was a hot day; and yes i was tired! So after lining up for half hour and not even half way there yet i decided to give it a miss this time and do it on next trip! But i still haven't done so DAMN!! So i too am still keen to go back to do it! But a great video of the mountain Wandering Wolf! So love this mountain.You highlighted it's beauty and charm well.

The hotel you stay at, was there a waiting list? Must be amazing to stay at high up.
It was amazing! You can book online like we did but you can also camp on the mountain as well. They even have pop up tents you can rent there so you do not have to carry anything up. We always have various gear with us for filming so usually need a room to drop our things and lock it up, otherwise sleeping under the stars on top of Huashan would have been amazing!

Do you know Lijiang in Yunnan Province? Places there such as Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri -La are lovely and beautiful places.
West Sichuan Province is beautiful too, like Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Bipenggou, Yading, Seda
